(If you were wondering... They accept Credit Cards) This…read morewas awesome! I cannot compare it to other air tours I've been on, as this is the first but it was an amazing first experience. They are on schedule and on time, and are very clean. Before we went in the air the aircraft was disinfected. Masks are required on flight, but it isn't that hot on board. This is a great trip and experience, and I you highly recommend

Availability seems pretty weather-dependent, so phone ahead and have a backup plan for your day,…read morebut our experience was super fun. You ride in small Cessna propeller plane, which can comfortably seat two, and can squeeze a third if you must (two adults and a kid seems reasonable, and there's a coupon on the website to get your third passenger free, so this might be good for families). We did the Delaware Water Gap tour, which is around a half hour. We went in fall, and the scenery was gorgeous, with rivers and mountains covered in colorful autumn trees. You star fairly low so you can still see a lot of what's going on below. The wind tends to be a bit choppy up in the mountains, so this might not be great for those faint of heart or weak of stomach, but it also adds to the thrill. Toward the end of the flight our pilot let my girlfriend take control and fly the plane. This was a big thrill for her, and he actually let her do quite a bit in terms of guiding the plane and bring it in for a landing (but of course he took control back for the landing itself). If anyone is interested in a little mini-flight lesson, make sure they take the front seat. Overally great experience. Might seem a little pricey for a relatively short activity ($50 for 30 minutes, although I think it was a little longer), but it was totally worth it.

Aircraft scheduling is straightforward and flexible, which makes a huge difference when balancing flying and your daily life. The instructors are experienced, approachable, and easy to learn from. There's no intimidation here, just solid instruction in a relaxed but professional environment. Between the aircraft rentals and training options, they're also connected with a cafe. You can grab a bite to eat and unwind a bit before your next flight!

I should have known there were going to be issues when I had a hard time booking a discovery flight. I wanted the flight on a certain date, so I wanted to book almost 3 months in advance to guarantee the date. First, I went to the location, but no one was there and a young guy who worked in the same building the place is located told me that no one was there yet, even though they were supposed to have been open over an hour earlier. When I asked him what time they usually arrived, he said around 12 or so, he called it more of a "retirement job". I finally did get to speak to someone, and they told me that they didn't book out that far and to call back a few weeks before the date that I wanted. I did get it booked but not for the date I wanted, it was a birthday gift and i didn't want to chance not getting that date, so I planned something else for that day. The date came for the flight, and it got cancelled due to winds, no problem, I'm not a meteorologist, so we rescheduled. The day of the flight they cancelled again. This time they said storms were in the area. The weather was perfect that day! Not a cloud in the sky and no bad weather for hundreds of miles. I CAN read a radar and a weather report. I asked for a refund and got the runaround for over a month. I had to send a demand for payment letter before I got any real response. I finally did get a refund, of course they claimed that the gift certificate was for me (even though it states from me to someone else), and charged me fees. But, at least I got most of my money back and know to stay away from this company! Horrible all the way around.

Concerning their Leesburg VA location that has now moved to Winchester VA. Jim Odenwaldt was…read moreprovided the keys and logs to my aircraft in Feb 2023. I asked that he inspect the aircraft and asvise as to what was needed to make it again flight worthy and that I wanted to sell the aircraft. My specific concerns were cleaning out all bird nests and the like to minimize corrosion and such. I was told that he would have it into be inspected and worked on within 4-6 weeks. Despite repeated calls, he didn't pull the aircraft into the hangar for inspection until Oct of 2023. In Jan 2024, he informed me they had hit a snag in finding parts as the manufacturer was out of business. He indicated they had spent a good deal of time and money (without keeping me apprised along the way) and were at an impass, but would continue seeking a solution and keep me posted. Having heard nothing in quite a while, I contacted Jim in May, 2024 a full 14 months since he had agreed to help get the plane up and running. Jim informed me they had moved the FBO to a neighboring airport and they had the log books. I asked Jim for a breakdown of current expense and status. He said he would get that to me. Not once did Jim ever convey to me their hourly rate (outrageous) or where things stood as work progressed, until such time as they hit a wall having spent substantial money. I never received an invoice. All this while I had been seeking a buyer as Jim had indictated he would help. Communications remained silent. Early May 2025, I began receiving calls and texts concerning purchase of the aircraft. A gentleman (Brad) said he would help me find a buyer to purchase the aircraft. Within a few days he found a buyer. He also became aware of an open invoice (that was NEVER presented to me) and negotiated a settlement with the Fly ADVANCED CEO that i reluctantly agreed too. The buyer reached out to me and we proceeded with the transaction. In the meantime, Fly Advanced filed an improper lien other aircraft, despite Brad's assurances that a deal had been negotiated. This improper and unwarranted lien attempt, caused unnecessary headache and delay. In summarry, Fly Advanced delay, lack of communication and general over all unprofessionalism, created angst, lost opportunity and disgust for all involved. The experience has 100% insured I will never again have or encourage any interaction with the Fly Advanced organization or their affiliates.

When I was searching to take flying lessions, I research every available operation in the Philadelphia area. To put it frankly, when it came to professionalism, safety, quality of the aircraft, and the culture of flyADVANCED, they won hands down. Most place I found they fly old Cessna's or Piper's - I wanted to fly something that was at least born after I was. I not only flying a modern plane, but I am learning both advanced techniques as well as the "old-school" method of flying in-case of ____. (I dare not say it). The people at flyADVANCED again are amazing. From my first call to my training flights with my instructor, I feel like I belong here and I'm apart of the flyADVANCED family. If you really want to learn to fly, stop looking and look at flyADVANCED. They will teach you everything you need to know, plus make the experience custom to who you are and your desires whether big or small.
