Fees are high but service is very good. They changed their fee structure to be fairer so private aircraft don't get hit like corporate.

Aircraft scheduling is straightforward and flexible, which makes a huge difference when balancing flying and your daily life. The instructors are experienced, approachable, and easy to learn from. There's no intimidation here, just solid instruction in a relaxed but professional environment. Between the aircraft rentals and training options, they're also connected with a cafe. You can grab a bite to eat and unwind a bit before your next flight!

I should have known there were going to be issues when I had a hard time booking a discovery flight. I wanted the flight on a certain date, so I wanted to book almost 3 months in advance to guarantee the date. First, I went to the location, but no one was there and a young guy who worked in the same building the place is located told me that no one was there yet, even though they were supposed to have been open over an hour earlier. When I asked him what time they usually arrived, he said around 12 or so, he called it more of a "retirement job". I finally did get to speak to someone, and they told me that they didn't book out that far and to call back a few weeks before the date that I wanted. I did get it booked but not for the date I wanted, it was a birthday gift and i didn't want to chance not getting that date, so I planned something else for that day. The date came for the flight, and it got cancelled due to winds, no problem, I'm not a meteorologist, so we rescheduled. The day of the flight they cancelled again. This time they said storms were in the area. The weather was perfect that day! Not a cloud in the sky and no bad weather for hundreds of miles. I CAN read a radar and a weather report. I asked for a refund and got the runaround for over a month. I had to send a demand for payment letter before I got any real response. I finally did get a refund, of course they claimed that the gift certificate was for me (even though it states from me to someone else), and charged me fees. But, at least I got most of my money back and know to stay away from this company! Horrible all the way around.

He called to book his appointment and then called the day of to make sure that the weather was good for flying. We came down and arrived about a half hour early. We walked in and were quickly greeted. They took us right out to the plane despite being early. Ken was my dads instructor and he was amazing. He let us take all the pictures and videos we wanted. He and my dad inspected the plane and all the equipment for about ten minutes and then they got ready for take off. My mom and I were able to watch the take off and landing from the ground next to the runway. My dad had a total air time of about 50 minutes and he said he was in control of the plane once they were in the air! After the flight, they gave my dad a log book with his logged flight from today. The staff was so incredibly friendly and my dad couldn't be happier. I can't thank the staff enough for making my dads experience amazing and this is truly the best gift I have ever gotten anyone. I can't wait for my dad to come again and I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking to fly!

Considering there isn't much going on other than the flight school and the fact that there is a runway I guess I will just briefly comment on both. The runway is pavement that is in good condition and as well situated with regards to the prevailing winds...as is tradition of course. Now the bad news, the flight school is absolutely positively second rate. I can't really comment on each individual instructor because that wouldn't really be fair, they all differ at any flight school. The real issue is with regards to the planes. Within the small "general aviation" (GA) community aviation in the PA/NJ area I have heard several times that the plans are poorly maintained. I have a friend who was flying one and it blew a cylinder or something and OIL SHOT ALL OVER AND UNIFORMLY COVERED THE WINDSHIELD!! This occurred while he was flying In the pattern at Doylestown airport and was both "good" and bad at the same time. It worked out in his favor because he was near the airport and was able to get down quickly, on the other hand he was at a low altitude so there was very little time if the engine had fully died. My friend who is actually a certified flight instructor flew the airplane back with the engine limping and very little visibility due to the oil. If he was not such an excellent pilot with a commercial license who was also an instructor and just talented in general with regards to aviation it would have quite possibly have been a much different story. All planes need to be maintained scrupulously, flight school planes are generally flown by people with the least experience in all of aviation, students and brand new pilots. These planes need to be in perfect condition and then some. It's all of the maintenance protocols were followed this is not difficult to do, many airports do. For what it's worth I will give a "shout out" to the best maintain fleet of planes that I know of which is at Somerset Airport in Jersey. I am not in any way affiliated with them but I feel that since I am personally recommending that one does not rent from this facility that I give some sort of a remedy. Because the airport itself it's not the flight school I'm not giving just one star. Then again the flight school is an Intercal part of the airport and the airport which I believe is owned by the county has the right to hostnot host any business(leaser of space) they wish, at least I'm pretty sure this is correct.
