When I got to the checkout, I told the cashier I had found the hoodie on a sale rack. He said," Yep!" which made me think I was going to get the 20% off. However, in the car I looked at my receipt and saw I was not given 20% off the lowest marked price, just the lowest marked price. Clutching my receipt, I went back in and made sure I had read the sign right before going to the cashier. He agreed with me, refunded my original purchase, and then charged me the discounted price as shown on the store display. I'm not sure why it happened this way, but this time I paid the price I was expecting. Tractor Supply is a really interesting store with quite a variety of merchandise. It's fun to walk around and look at everything. Even though it seems to cater to farmers, ranchers, and those folks who live in the country, there's a lot of stuff that will appeal to us city folks too.

The cleanliness of the store is pretty good compared to many local thrift stores, and they have recently done some remodeling that has helped to open up the space. One of my critiques would have to be that I feel most items are on average $1 over-priced across the board (just my personal opinion). For instance, a pair of lone, unmatched toddler pajama pants were $3.98 when I was looking yesterday. Seems a little steep given you can get a brand-new complete set for $9 or $10 at Old Navy or Carter's.

The conundrum is that when you are looking to get rid of stuff quickly, it's super convenient - you just roll up and someone is there to help you unload your vehicle. Today I ventured in to look for some children's books to fill a free little library my company maintains. The books were .99 each which isn't bad unless you need a whole bunch. The place was actually really crowded for a summer Saturday afternoon. The merchandise was organized well by size, color, holidays, etc. They had many brand new items - for example a full set of sheets for $19.99. However, as I have seen on IG these days, there is a big markup on some items. There was a small Fossil brand purse that was pretty beat up going for $24.99! That would be unheard of back in the day. I'm sure one could find some great buys for cheap but that requires some time commitment sifting thru the stuff. Overall, I'm glad they are here although I donate my most prized items to other places.
