They legit hire anyone that they can find without doing proper mental tests and background checks. In my incident today, Officer Matthew Raabe, was the first person to arrive after I waited 2 hours and in the end, he did nothing to help me resolve the issue other than arguing back to me and power tripping. He had no idea about the law and needs to go to school to be more educated in criminal law. He had very bad manners, was super unprofessional, and extremely lazy because he refused to write a police report. Furthermore, Officer Raabe refused to give me his name or badge number which triggered him to get angry and drive away from the scene even though he didn't resolve the issue at hand and fulfill his duty as an officer and properly help the citizens of our city. Officer Raabe was terrible at controlling his emotions and got extremely angry and even fled the scene without any resolution, it was super pathetic and disappointing. His name is Officer Matthew Raabe, badge number 5100

We attempted to park but a gentleman stood in the parking spot and would not let us park. He said his wife was arriving so we waited thinking she was somewhere in the parking lot? He was rude and obnoxious and after waiting 5 minutes....she still did not arrive. He became more obnoxious as we indicated he had NO RIGHT to block a parking spot and I advised I would call authorities if he would not let us park. He became more obnoxious and said go ahead....they just don't get it....so I did. Just before the Police arrived, two gentlemen came up to my window and said they understood the situation and they were leaving the restaurant so take their spot. WHAT GREAT GUYS....wish we got their names. So we parked within 50" and proceeded to get our buggy out for our dogs while this guy is still yelling at me that I am going to jail? Go figure? Seal Beach Police arrived and pulled up to him and I walked over. Seal Beach police handled it perfectly! One officer spoke to the other gentleman while the other came over to talk to me. While talking to the Officer, another young lady approached and she said that he did the same to her. Officer asked we to enjoy lunch and while walking to the restaurant, 3 other folks asked if they needed help as a witness since they saw everything! We had to wait to get our table outside and both the gentleman and his wife apparently were asked to leave. BOTTOM LINE: Police Officers have a very difficult job to do for US....don't know their names but handled it perfectly. AND....we live in Arizona so we want to thank ALL OF YOU that witnessed this unpleasant event and came to our support. This guy is a BULLY and we all need to STOP BULLIES......in a low key, reasonable and professional manner and that is what I tried to do. Otherwise, this BULLY will hurt someone/some day. Again, much thanks to the Seal Beach Police Officers that arrived on the scene and for those Californians that came to our defense. Wish we knew all your names but we Love you Guys1

Officer Shockey--A True Example of Service with Humility…read more We recently had to call the Cypress Police Department because a vehicle had dropped debris all over our street, creating a serious hazard for drivers. Officer C. Shockey responded to the call, and his professionalism and kindness left a lasting impression on our whole household. Not only did he assess the situation quickly and ensure everyone's safety, but when the city cleaner arrived, Officer Shockey didn't just stand by--he rolled up his sleeves and helped sweep the street himself. Watching an officer take that kind of initiative and humility was genuinely moving. In a world where we often only hear about the negative, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the positive. Officer Shockey exemplified what true public service looks like: not authority, but compassion in action. Thank you to him and to the Cypress Police Department for showing that integrity and care still define what it means to protect and serve.

Him being part of the department since 2016 and taking part in the social media team he should understand that how he represents himself also puts his department under scrutiny and so easily to do so with such large media platforms available to utilize. Since the further separation between communities and law enforcement in recent years, it is crucial that he speaks and acts in an empathizing way to prevent further disconnection as this encounter did so for me. Community-oriented police training, in addition to sensitivity training should be brought forth to reeducate this police officer as he may have forgotten this aspect of his duty after obtaining his bachelor degree in criminal justice as his basic decency to treat others with respect is lacking. I have reached out to higher chain of command and he assured me he would address the situation and I appreciate his ability to speak to and with citizens respectfully.
