I want to say thanks for their hard work. Someone stole my car and they found it only 12 hours after I reported.

Officer Shockey--A True Example of Service with Humility…read more We recently had to call the Cypress Police Department because a vehicle had dropped debris all over our street, creating a serious hazard for drivers. Officer C. Shockey responded to the call, and his professionalism and kindness left a lasting impression on our whole household. Not only did he assess the situation quickly and ensure everyone's safety, but when the city cleaner arrived, Officer Shockey didn't just stand by--he rolled up his sleeves and helped sweep the street himself. Watching an officer take that kind of initiative and humility was genuinely moving. In a world where we often only hear about the negative, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the positive. Officer Shockey exemplified what true public service looks like: not authority, but compassion in action. Thank you to him and to the Cypress Police Department for showing that integrity and care still define what it means to protect and serve.

My toddler son and I immediately felt welcomed and nurtured. Our second visit was where I knew that I wanted to make this our home library; after one Story Time encounter Miss Lindsay had memorized who my son was & his name. She treats littles like they truly matter and are special. And her enthusiastic spirit makes each Story Time captivating and exciting! The children's section is thoughtfully designed with colorful decor, small chairs and tables, loads of toys, all types of puzzles, plenty of STEM toys and an extensive collection of books that cater to all ages and interests. They have huge collection of children's books that includes: board books, picture books, early reader books, wonder books (that read to you!) and fun audio books for kids just to name a few. They also have a AWE Learning computer that my child loves! What truly sets Tibor Rubin Library apart from others is how welcome they make you feel. They welcome all patrons and bring a sense of community and importance to all who enter. Their staff is fiercely dedicated and have always gone above and beyond for us. I have received much help and support from their staff, including help from Miss Chloe to help sign my child up for school. They offer a fantastic array of programs and activities tailored to children and families. Story Time is our family favorite and is very interactive and includes music, games, dancing and bubbles. Some Story Times also include crafts or STEM like experiments which my toddler loves. We've also come to many of their Special Events and have been been blown away countlessly by what a "library" can offer. In April Miss Jenny made sure we knew about 'Children's Day' where she had organized a fantastic day supporting children with a Youth Lion Dance Performance. It made an everlasting impression on my child and myself. It was absolutely spectacular! The library also caters to adults and teens in the community. I personally came to the Author Discussion of Arlene L. Walker presented with Miss Chloe and found it incredibly engaging and fascinating. There were so many great questions that lead to meaningful and engaging discussions - where I felt like I gained a new sense of wisdom. Tibor Rubin is a true community based library that creates a sense of belonging. They offer a safe and nurturing space for young minds and for everyone who goes. I love how quaint the library is and how everyone makes it a point to know you and your child. It's a place my child and I feel safe and welcome when visiting. Thank you, Tibor Rubin, for being a beacon of positivity and learning in our community. We are incredibly grateful for all that you do for all us!

I recently had to take care of a traffic ticket that almost became a warrant for my arrest. I went to see the judge early in the morning and they dismissed my late fine. So i payed the original price, and the judge set me free. Standing in line to pay a fine can be 30 minutes in line. Parking is free here which is a plus. All in all, I hope i never have to come here again.

I dont know if I'd call myself a fan, but as a juror, it's not a completely horrible experience…read more I'm writing all this down because there's a surprising lack of information on here about it. I had rescheduled Jury Duty and carefully calculated myself to report the week of Thanksgiving, hoping to get excused due to the holidays. I *think* this would have worked if I had remembered to check in on the correct day. My call-in day was the day before Thanksgiving. I didn't check in until Friday. That was my stupid mistake. Don't make this mistake. Anyway, when I checked in on Friday, I was given a new juror call-in group. I had to call in on Monday... then Tuesday... and on Wednesday I was requested to come to the courthouse at 8AM. *screams into the void* PARKING: There's free parking JUST FOR JURORS across the street. There are metal detectors when you enter the courthouse. Please don't bring any weapons or anything dumb. AMENITIES: Vending machine, WiFi, work tables and power outlets along some walls, a fridge and microwave for your lunch if you bring one, and unisex individual bathrooms in the jury waiting room. No cafeteria on site... you'll have to get in your vehicle or walk somewhere for a proper lunch. If you make it to lunch, your lunch break is from 12PM - 1:30PM. PROCESS: After the metal detectors, you follow the signs for "Jury Assembly Room". You check in there and get your jury badge at 8AM. You watch an orientation video telling you the importance of serving. Then you wait. Please don't be an asshole and talk on your phone on speaker in the assembly room, it's annoying. Do bring headphones if you hate the sounds of people and want to watch something on your ipad or phone. Once the courts were finally in session, all the jurors were randomly separated into groups of about 75 and sent to courtrooms. This is when the judge tells you the foundational gist of what the trial will be about, and about how long you will be on trial if chosen. From there, about 24 people were randomly selected and asked pertinent questions by the judge and attorneys. Questions like occupation, do you know cops, have you had bad experiences with them, can you in good faith produce a fair and unbiased judgement on the case based on the content of the case. Based on your answers, you will either stay or be dismissed. If a person is dismissed, someone else from the pool of people in the courtroom will take their place. SPOILER ALERT: Just because English isn't your first language doesn't mean you will automatically dismissed. Even the guy who worked graveyard until 5am who showed up at 8am on no sleep AND didn't speak English fluently wasn't dismissed... so you're going to have to suck it up. Sorry folks, we all don't want to be there. If for some reason you cannot serve and are excused by the judge, you are done for the day and have fulfilled your service for the year. You can pick up a note from the assembly room if you need it for work. I think that covers everything. Bring entertainment, headphones, snacks, and hope you don't get called... but there's a good chance you will if you're there.

Nevertheless, I am going to write. Their stating that you can receive an excuse for being an elderly caregiver is an OPEN LIE. They state that, but then you don't get that. So, newsflash OC Court people. I will make you a deal. You send one of your clerks here to take care of a 94 year old with dementia every day I might have to be on jury duty, and we will be good! You take him out to lunch. You follow him around when he gets lost, which is a daily thing. You make sure he doesn't go into the street. Yes, as Yelp says, I think this post IS looking pretty epic! How about this instead? Why don't you QUIT with the AI decision making on excuse requests (because I just know you wouldn't ordinarily respond within three hours), and TAKE OFF caring for someone as an excuse because you are LYING by keeping it up on the website! You DON"T do that, so DO NOT LIE ABOUT IT.

The lights are green but there is nowhere to go because the other lights are red. I am not talking "that type" of red light if you know what I mean. Most of Beach has been cleaned up, despite an occasional walker. I blame it on the proximity of different city limits. Right where Stanton is near the Rodeo plaza to the 22 freeway where Westminster is Beach Blvd comes to a halt. Somebody needs to start synching these lights. Oh famous Beach Blvd. Always busy…read more The famous Beach Blvd, where so many destinations lie, in cities such as HB, Fountain Valley, Westminster, Garden Grove, Stanton, Anaheim, Buena Park, and even more cities than you realize. I try to avoid it as much as possible, but sometimes if I want to go certain places I just deal with it. Sometimes my GPS insists, and if its late enough I will just deal with it. Otherwise I will try to find another route. So the pros: There are many places located on it. Also there are many lanes on each side, allowing for faster traffic since so many people use it. I will be honest, I don't remember offhand. I know that there are at least four. Traffic seems to move fairly well most of the time due to the amount of lanes. The cons: Too many people on it, and there tends to be a lot of speedy and zig zaggers on this street. Also it seems to be notorious for having street walkers on it. I have only seen them twice, but I know other people see them far more often. Maybe it's because I try to avoid it. Even if I need to go somewhere on it, I usually take another street until I get to the nearest cross street, and then head over to Beach Blvd. If you are on it late at night or early in the morning, it moves great, but there are STILL tons of drivers on it. I struggle with worrying about many crazy drivers more than it moving. If you are on Beach Blvd. you have an advantage. I have noticed that every cross street I use to go through Beach Blvd. to my destination, that the people on it get an extremely long signal, and us going through it get about two seconds. Then you wait for an extremely long time again. Some days you are lucky and hit the light green and do not have to wait on the Beach Blvd. people. Some may say that they "cruise" Beach Blvd. I guess it makes more sense than streets such as Bellflower Blvd.
