These Olives are so good, we picked up a couple jars when driving through Porterville to visit Sequoia. We packed them down and they ended up in Texas the 1st jar opened was the stuffed almond Olives these dudes are big boys, hand stuffed with almond and soaked in brine the flavor is zesty, Olive still with some crunch and the almond just falls apart against the teeth. What an experience I savored every bite, I caught myself with olive on fork just looking at it thinking Damn. I'm on the 2nd jar hand stuffed pimento their brine is really good not too bitter as to take away from the olive itself. I would Love to order these online the stores here don't stock them, I'm on a search for a way to get them delivered. The first jar of olives with garlic I bought at Senders in Mountain Ranch was pretty good, I'd say a 3-3.5. The 2nd jar of garlic olives bought today was a great disappointment. The garlic was not a clove and it was on the brown side. So the garlic looked like it was cut/diced squared, was not a full clove, not even crunchy and soft. The olive was okay, some were a bit mushy. But the main issue was the garlic clove which was not a clove and it was brownish in color. I will not recommend Armstrong olives. Like who uses brown colored mushy cut up garlic and not cloves?! read more

While vacationing on The Big Island, HI I was craving garlic stuffed olives and decided to pick up a jar. I told myself... well hopefully I won't be too disappointed since I was unfamiliar with the brand. I absolutely LOVE these olives. I am big on briny foods and these have fabulous flavor. I love the bite of the olives and a bit of a crunch to the garlic. I love the briny taste of the juice so much that I was drinking it out of the jar. Lol I have to try the other flavors as I was reading other reviews. Thank you Armstrong Olives!!! These are by far my favorite olives. I will be purchasing more in the future. read more

The olives are to-write-home-about quality. I've dropped one star cause I couldn't find their email to write home about. ( Armstrong Olives website left 'Contact Us' email blank.) Anyway, back to the olives: Was lucky to spot a Ralph's market 'manager special' and got the jar for only $3. The reason I picked it was because they mentioned no lye was used for ripening/fermentation of the olives. Instead those spent 9 months in brine (salt) only. Once I grabbed a bite the crunch and fresh zest more then aligned with my mediterranean-native expectations. I usually buy jarred olives cause the deli (by weight) olives are too costly. But I do get to sample those once in a while and I must say that I'm writing this comment because I didn't expect jarred olives to surpass deli quality. Not sure if I can afford them in full price, but they're worth it (compared with Ralph's home brand that sells for $2 less in a smaller jar and is in a lower league all together). I once passed through Porterville coming on the sideways down from Fresno. Maybe next time I'll stop and get a factory outlet (is there any?) priced olives. Thanks Mike and Cindy. read more

I have purchased Armstrong Olives (usually Garlic stuffed) for a while now and always thought they were of good quality. However, I just purchased the Bleu Cheese stuffed olives the other day and was very disappointed. The olives themselves are good, but the bleu cheese, or what ever it really is, is terrible. I now pull the bleu cheese "squares" out of the olives before I eat them. With a good quality olive such as Armstrong, imitation bleu cheese is not acceptable in my opinion. It's back to the garlic or pimento stuffed for me. read more

Bought a jar of their anchovy olives. Thought they'd be great in a martini or salad. Eating an olive whole, it was difficult to taste the anchovy. The olive overpowered the anchovy! So I cut the olive in half and was able to taste more of the anchovy flavor. I think a bigger olive with a bigger hole to stuff anchovy into would work better. Also, there were olives with obvious bruising and brown spots. I brine olives from fresh ones so I notice things like that. But for 3.99, they're OK. read more
