Was looking for a nice late afternoon walk while on vacation. Came across this spot that was around…read more10 minutes from our hotel. Lots of fast food restaurants nearby if you are looking to have a picnic or eat in the park. So many benches you relax on and there is a nice 1 mile walking path around the lake. This park has a lot you can do. Soccer and football areas, play structure, fishing - can even launch a boat, small hikes and a pool. It was so lovely we actually ended up coming back to take some graduation photos. Lovely spot!

In the back is an extensive walking park. It's a great place to bring your best friend on his or her daily walk. The grounds are actually well kept. As you drive here, you will be moving through Northern Manchester, which as you will find out is a wealthy location with large mansions. I'd recommend stopping at the kitchen restaurant up the road for Italian coffee and great food. The staff there was quite lovely too.

Today, children were sliding and gathering snow to build a snow sculpture for their winter carnival.

If you're not familiar with the area, finding where you actually need to park might be frustrating…read more The directions I got from Google (along with a couple of street signs) pointed us to the Rock Rimmon soccer field, which is not accessible (there's an actual gate that's closed), leaving you wondering how you actually get to the park. We went back East on Bremer streets for 6 blocks and found park access on the left. If you're GPSing or getting directions online, I would look up "Dupont Pool" instead of Rock Rimmon Park. Anyway, once my girlfriend and I got there, we found a large pool, a tennis court, a basketball court, and a playground. No picnic tables though, which was kind of a bummer, since we brought food. But we just plopped down in the grass and ate. After we ate, we went through the trail. At first, it looked like it was going to be somewhat of a climb, but once we started, it really wasn't bad. You definitely notice a lot of litter, including broken glass, and vandalism; mostly from chalk. Most of the chalk writing is fine but there is some stereotypical, childish, vandalism there too. However, the view from atop of the rock is very pretty. We got lots of great pictures, and enjoyed just sitting with our feet dangling off the edge. The temperature was great out, so it was really relaxing. It was a good experience, but it strikes me as a place that I might only visit once again.
