My daughter loves coming to this park because it's well kept, you can ride scooters and bicycles that have been donated to the park and you just leave it there once you're done using it. The also have a track around the park for runners and people who want to walk with a view. Besides the playgrounds, there are also baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts and everything is in immaculate condition. I don't see any cons at all for this park and like I said it's the best one I've see so far in New Hampshire. If you and your kids are looking for a new park, be sure to give this one a try. It has it all, trust me!

Would recommend gym shoes, but I made it around just fine in sandals in case you forget some. Everything is clearly marked and labeled and I wish we lived closer, I can guarantee my husband and I would be visiting all the time. Its probably the best park I have seen/been to this summer... They had so many different little stations. They even have this Music area where there are drum like pedestals that when you bang on make music & big chime like things you can bang hammers off to make noise... it was super cool! There are several slides, plank like walking pedestals & monkey bars.. There is a sprinkler section... There are tons of Picnic tables under a covered roof to hide in the shade, you even have to walk over a bridge to get there... Kinda cool! Only downside, no close bathroom & its woodchips which I admit is great for when kids fall, but horrible for women in flip flops! Will defintely be coming back.

The trails passed by marshes, over creeks &, at times, we had to navigate through areas that had some minimal flooding. Signage is practically non-existent, with arrows primarily @ intersections & also kind of confusing where the parking lots are for the trailheads. There is very little blazing on the trees but again, the trail directions are obvious. Not too much indication of wildlife, although, of course, we were in the thick of the trees. The folks at the Visitor Center are super friendly, knowledgeable & helpful.

The rules of the park are right in front and everyone should pay attention. The public has had fundraisers to get the park revitalized so this is an important place for the Town and the people who use it. Plenty of parking, and just a nice and quiet place to come to read a book or relax when the park doesn't have a lot of activity at it.

Other favorites: swings, tall structure with multiple slides(and slide types) and a large climbing structure. A favorite among many families in the area - I was shocked to not see it on a yelp page. They are working on the field part so unable to kite fly like before but would imagine it would be opening soon. There's a small loop around the field as well for a quick stroll. Plenty of parking to be found and couple of picnic tables throughout including a few under a covered structure. There's also a small business that looks like it has snacks(fairly new but prior to the new owners it was a coffee shop). I only wish they had restrooms but they do have port a potties.

It also serves as the back up water supply for Salem. I live close to the lake and love to see and hear wild life such as loons, duck, bald eagles, and more. Some people do fish the lake and it has mostly perch, bass, pickerel, and other small trash fish. There is no public beach (actually out of all the 5 lakes in Salem, there is no public beach or access which is a huge negative and public issue) however there are some areas that one can park and access the lake to swim or put in a kayak on town owned land. I kayak on the lake and there are islands to explore and it is so peaceful and the water so clean! It is hard to believe that we are only 45 minutes from Boston! A hidden gem!
