It is truly an amazing place weather you are the for sports, to go on a walk or run, to skate during the winter season, to boat or fish in the lake, swim during a hot day, watch a concert, or take your kids to the wonderful park. I would totally recommend this complex for all listed things I can think of.

I kid you not the life guard was watching him as well and all he did was jump in the deep end of the pool, he was coming up for air and they blew their whistle and jumped in to, again, "save" him when he didn't need saving at all. They put him in unwanted distress and embarrassed him, made him cry because he was coming up for air. Thankfully there were other lifeguards around who understood the situation and assured us nothing was wrong but what happened was just ridiculous.

They have a couple of large parking lots there to stash your vehicle while visiting. One of the main entrances is right past one of the Tinley Park fire stations. Many paved trails to walk around the lake, with a high route and a low route to vary up the scenery. On the high elevation they have a number of picnic tables and the like for those that want to have a meal. They also have a large playground there for the kids to keep busy while the parents chill. The lower route is mainly for jogging and walking ... although you'll find a lot of bikes in the area also. At the other end you'll find baseball and soccer fields, skateboard, and basketball too. They also have a little dock off which you can fish. Be forewarned - no dogs allowed, which is good for some people and not so much for others. This is a sort of difficult kind of place to find, but that keeps it a treasure.

There were so many different types of birds and no chirp was the same. Squirrels playing in the trees, butterflies, bumblebees and more ducks than I have seen at one time. Nice to just put one foot in front of the other and follow wherever the trail went. This trail is located behind the Marianos in Oak Lawn.

I am extremely disappointed in how their branch of Special Olympics handled a serious concern--and…read moreeven more disappointed that it appears to have been ignored entirely. On March 3, 2026, I was involved in an incident during practice where a coach directed vulgar language toward me ("get the f'n ball"). When I later responded in frustration, I was suspended for violating rules around language and conduct. So to be clear: athletes are disciplined for language, while similar behavior from coaches is not held to the same standard. I was told by leadership above the team level, including an individual from within Special Olympics named Amie Dugan, that someone would follow up with me within a week to discuss both the incident and my concerns about how athletes are treated. That follow-up never happened. It has now been almost a half a year. Because of this situation, I missed out on participating in state championships for basketball and the following softball season. That is a significant loss of opportunity over an issue I made a good-faith effort to address. This is not just about one incident. There have been multiple documented complaints regarding coaching conduct and professionalism. In those cases, the outcome has been minimal accountability, often limited to informal or insufficient apologies. In contrast, when athletes respond in similar ways, the consequences are significantly more severe, including suspension and loss of participation opportunities. Many of the athletes on these teams are adults with jobs and responsibilities, yet are sometimes spoken to in ways that feel disrespectful and infantilizing. When concerns are raised, they do not appear to be taken seriously or followed up on. I attempted to resolve this privately and respectfully. Being told I would be contacted and then hearing nothing for almost half a year shows a lack of accountability and professionalism. If leadership cannot follow through on something as basic as a promised response, it raises serious concerns about how complaints are handled overall and whether standards are being applied fairly. I hope this organization takes a closer look at consistency, communication, and respect--because based on my experience, those standards are not being upheld equally.

The staff are very nice, and they are very friendly. You can do birthday parties here, but it will be in the gym. The gym is very clean. There is a roof going down on half of the gym, but it's just for decoration! The small basketball court is good for a small game. The hoop looks old-school. In the playground, the cool "exercise" object is used for the kids. There are some kinds of those to help the legs and arms move! There is also climbing equipment and slides. It looks perfect for the kids! I will be back here soon!

This is a good facility. I've been here a couple times for a kids birthday party, and they've been…read morein the room with the climbing structure and also in a room where the ball courts are. When we were where the playing courts are, there were a couple of employees that were leading children's play activities--they were using nerf guns, playing soccer and dodge ball. The little ones were able to just run around or play in the little room that was part of the birthday reservation. The facility is clean, and there's a little playground just outside as well for days when the weather is warm enough. Parking is one way so don't be a jerk and mess up the flow of traffic.
