Our daughter played here in the large Kiddie Clinic Soccer program where they teach young kids the game. Great fun. This park also has two sets of playground equipment for children ... one each for the different age groups. There are also two basketball courts for those that play that sport, and three fenced in tennis courts for those that play tennis. The tennis courts have the added attraction of being lined out for pickleball games also. This is a great park for all to use ... and it is close by in the neighborhood. Try it ...

So Tinley park has this massive storm water reservoir with a lake at the center that they turned…read moreinto a community park. They have a couple of large parking lots there to stash your vehicle while visiting. One of the main entrances is right past one of the Tinley Park fire stations. Many paved trails to walk around the lake, with a high route and a low route to vary up the scenery. On the high elevation they have a number of picnic tables and the like for those that want to have a meal. They also have a large playground there for the kids to keep busy while the parents chill. The lower route is mainly for jogging and walking ... although you'll find a lot of bikes in the area also. At the other end you'll find baseball and soccer fields, skateboard, and basketball too. They also have a little dock off which you can fish. Be forewarned - no dogs allowed, which is good for some people and not so much for others. This is a sort of difficult kind of place to find, but that keeps it a treasure.

I really enjoyed my evening out it was restful and gave me a sense of calm even though this is in the the middle of a really busy suburb. Didn't hear any cars, horns, sirens or anything like that. I saw they have a nice basketball court so the following day I decided to ask my boys to bring a basketball to play basketball while we waited for the past to be done for my other son. A lady approached my kids and told them they could not play basketball because they needed to pay. She told me the same thing I thought paying for the class for my other child was enough and the kids were just harmless playing basketball and the lady got mad at the kids I guess they are really money hungry institution the following day I came and just had my Kids color because playing sports while we waited for the class to be over was off-limits such a disappointing experience.

Instead I signed up for three personal training sessions a week. That was three years ago. I've lost 15 pounds and kept it off. I absolutely love coming to this gym. John is an amazing trainer. When I injured myself (from wearing too high of heels, not from working out), he modified my workouts to accommodate me. The gym itself is always clean, and there is an abundance of equipment. Whatever your fitness goals are, Full Spectrum is the place to get them done.

Classrooms and offices are on the main floor. There are outdoor playing fields, too, and they are huge. I have attended the Center in the morning, work-week hours. All ages attend. Very nice locker rooms. The employees are very helpful and friendly. Note: this is a community center, but if you are a Blue Cross-Blue Shield insured you may be able to enjoy the services offered by the Matteson Community Center at a greatly reduced cost. If you do qualify but are not a resident you will need to obtain a Community Center photo ID. (Check BC-BS' webpage for further information on their reduced cost memberships as well as the Community Center's webpage for information on their hours and contact information about when and how you can obtain a Community Center ID.)

I've been a member of DGSRC for several years now. Yes, it's more expensive than some of the other…read moreoptions. But how much will you use it when it's so close by? Every summer we've swam at least 50 times, which means it works out to less than lunch out with at the kids each visit...and we spend our entire summer there. It's also super-close to my home (my son can bike there and meet his friends); we can bring our own healthy lunches and snacks; my kids have tons of friends who go there (so, instant playdates); and there are plenty of other activities to do as well (tennis, shuffleboard, gaga pit, sand volleyball). I'm often there with my kids but when I'm not, I love being able to enjoy the lower lap pool and adult-oriented area away from the larger pool upstairs. The swim lessons and swim team are great options for kids as well.

The manager, Brad, has many years experience on the premise and knows how to make it a comfortable experience for most everyone who visits. The board has done a great job of spending limited funds where they are most effective. The end result is just a nice place to spend a couple hours, or more, a couple of days, or more, a week. One of the new additions this year is D'Cappos providing food from the "snack" deck. The everyday provisions are fine and the add ons during the weekend are fantastic!! Jerry brings high end restaurant food to the little shack on the snack deck. Tonight I took Cavatelli with a light white garlic and fresh squash sauce and a delicious Bruchetta home. Can't do that at any other pool I've ever been to. Where did that come from?? The board made another good decision from my point of view.
