I abhor the sauna setup, the coed situation is not it and makes no sense, it skews heavily male and the lack of consideration for women is honestly aggravating. It is clean, well organized and the staff is friendly and attentive. They have more than adequate cardio equipment and it is very spacious. I've been a member here since 2010. This gym has had its ups & downs. In the last few years it has really declined due to poor management & the hiring of questionable workers. Recently a janitor stabbed a client in the parking lot. They are allowing the janIgor's to be security & revoke memberships. I do not feel safe parking my car in the lot let alone going in for a work out & fearing for my life. Go work out anywhere else but this over priced unsafe gym. read more

I went to the manager Jonathan with concerns about the treatment of my children in the child center. He told me that he would look into these situations and get back to me. I made 4 separate complaints, and the mother of my children made 2 separate complaints over a few months time. Jonathan never once got back to me about any of these issues. The first feedback I got from Jonathan was him having a customer relations person call me to say they are canceling my membership. Jonathan is hiding and protecting his employees in the child center for their poor care of our children!! He'd rather cancel your membership than actually do his job!! read more

My wife and I have been going to LifeTime since May 2023. The biggest thing that attracted us at the time was their 2 hr daycare offering. This is huge for us and have really loved how they take of our son while we get a workout in. We are not totally impressed with the chaos in the freeweight section but we love the classes. My wife does the workout classes, and I personally love the open-climb sessions. I have never climbed before, and became instantly hooked on it. There is so much too it, and it is a great workout for those muscles we don't really focus on in a normal gym setting. This is an activity/space of the gym that makes it stand out amongst others and I am really grateful for it. I want to personally recognize the staff members Grant, Kylie, Maddi, and Ameerah for their time, coaching, and attention as I try to improve and learn more about climbing. I don't have a fear of heights per-say but if I drop a centimeter, my body naturally reacts, so it has been a really rewarding challenge for me physically and mentally. More people should join! Open climb starts at 6PM on the week days, and I'm sure there are other slots available too.‍ read more

I used to love this gym. But unfortunately, the employees aren't up to par ESPECIALLY since the price of just ONE membership is $150!!!! AMERICAN DOLLARS! WHAT?!?! Is it a nice gym? Sure. I have been a member since 2008 I went to the gym on a Friday night for half hour to do cardio. When I returned to the locker room, I heard the guy next to my locker complaining his cash was stolen right out of his locker. No signs of forced entry or anything. I checked my locker and cash was stolen (about $600). My neighbor had $620 stolen. A friend of mine who I ran into in the locker room said he saw two guys standing in front of the lockers with the doors wide open and he remembers what they looked like. I urged the people at lifetime to just check the tape and the witness can identify them. The police came and asked for manager on duty and asked her if she could bring up tape so they can review with the witness. She said she wasn't able to and they would need to come back tomorrow when a different manager comes. If you research a ton of people have had similar issues with things stolen out of their lockers. The guy next to me who had his cash stolen used to work at lifetime and said there were issues of master keys being copied or circulating!!!! This is a major problem that lifetime seems to be turning a blind eye to. They wouldn't even review tape with police. It was 7:30 pm and I'm sure it would be quite easy to pinpoint the thieves with the witness but Lifetime was unwilling to cooperate. It's become more and more frustrating that the basketball courts are completely shut down, half cardio machines, no efforts to clean equipment or really enforce any protective measures, dirty towels all over the place, stubble in sink etc. this place is probably the most expensive fitness center in the area and it's quickly becoming an unsafe shithole with theft as almost an everyday occurrence. read more

I still agree with everything else I said before but I want to give an update post the first year of covid. They keep everything clean! People don't wear masks anymore and there are no longer temperature checks but it's clean. I still cannot say enough awesome things about the child center. Courtney (the kids manager) is helpful, attentive, professional and great with kids. Honestly, even if I didn't love the gym I would still come just because of how awesome the child center is. There are tubes, storytimes, activities, an outside play area, basketball courts- it's like a kids camp everyday. The classes are excellent quality and the instructors are the best I've had and I've been to gyms all over the country. I've been to multiple Lifetimes and this one is the best I've been to. I've brought friends and family in guest passes and they laugh and say it's like a resort with the quality fo everything. The customer service is great and the salon is also great. read more

This place is horrible. Signed up and they never mentioned all the renovations they were doing. First month I'm there and I'm unable to use the showers. Made complaints and they couldn't care less. Went to put my membership on hold till they finished the work and they charged me a fee to put it on hold and then STILL charged me a full month membership. Called to cancel, and they're stating a LIE that I have to legally be there in person to cancel. Strange, I can cancel EVERY OTHER SUBSCRIPTION without going in person, but LifeTime deems themselves to be special. You say you have no contract, but require a 30day notice! So my experience here this morning is just enough for me to grant these guys one star. I felt like I was in the Wal-Mart of health clubs this morning after hearing one of the managers training a new employee. Here's the conversation: Manager: At Lifetime here, we expect everyone to go above and beyond the call every day. If you see something out of place, please take the time to fix it. New Employee: OK, sure Manager: Even if it's before you are punched in or after you punch out, the expectation is that you should always be on the lookout. For instance, when you're going to check in, please check all the garbage cans for overflow, check for towels in the hall, etc, etc..... New Employee: When I'm not on the clock? Manager: Yes, we set the expectation that it should only take between 2 and 3 minutes to walk from the front door to the time clock, that's time that can be spent keeping the club tidy. If you have a problem with working between 2 and 3 minutes off the clock, then this probably isn't the job for you. That's the "lifetime expectation". ================================================================= The Expectation is that you work for free? Uhhh... that's not work, folks, that's called slavery. I'm writing this because I couldn't believe how unbelievably condescending this guy was to this gal, and treating her like she's some sort of servant? Thanks but no thanks. I'll gladly pay and extra $1 a month if they can let their minimum wage employees get paid for the work they do. This review is for the personal training offered at Lifetime Gym. I signed up for PT at lifetime because I had some difficulty with strength training and my form for heavy lifts. I went in for a free training session, and David Westerberg was able to expertly diagnose these problems. Not only that, but he developed a custom plan to fix these problems, along with improving my flexibility, which also was hindering my range of motion for heavy lifts. Every day, David had a set of exercises ready for me, and he emailed me the day before so I could review the movements if I wanted to. He was always ready to answer any questions, and was motivational without being aggressive. Overall, I would highly recommend asking for David for personal training at Lifetime read more

So I like this place. Facilities are really good. However, I really only use the cardio equipment, a squat/bench rack, and the free weights. If that's also all you use, try a cheaper alternative. If that was all, then my review would be 4 stars. Customer service has taken a huge drop. The guy that showed me around the first day of Lifetime and told me to contact him with any questions or requests left. That's when I noticed a downturn. What really did it was when I tried to bring my brother to the gym. I wanted him to see Lifetime and hopefully make that his gym. They had a special to bring in a buddy for the holidays, but the staff totally reneged on the offer and wanted my brother to pay $20 and fill out this huge form with all of his personal information. I was not impressed. If you want a fancy gym, go to Equinox. This place has lost its service touch. If you love water slides and have kids that love that too, this is not a bad place. read more

This is a nice Lifetime facility...gym with basketball and racket ball courts, large rock climbing wall, workout area, indoor and outdoor pools, trainers for hire, café, hair salon, masseuse, pilates, free weights, scores of weight machines, dozens of treadmills and cross trainers, a dozen large screen TVs, locker rooms with showers, sauna and steam rooms, class rooms for yoga and other such programs that are available for an extra price, and on and on. This two-story Lifetime has extensive offerings for the health seeker and is open 24/7. While this Lifetime sometimes gets a negative review for this or that, when you consider they have over 5,000 members at any one time it is reasonable to see they will have hits and misses on occasion. On balance though, management tries to keep everything headed in the right direction and they seem to do a pretty good job of it. If you just want to work out on your own, that is easily accomplished. If you want help and some training advice to go along, that is available, albeit a bit pricey. All-in-all this is a nice facility for those who want a good workout place with all the bells and whistles. Pretty much anything you want you can find here. read more

Only question was how many hours, offered to make down payment and any other information needed to hold the time for the party. Called back after a few days to ask a question to find out I no longer had the the party booked. Asking if i made a deposit, etc. all things I offered to do on the first phone call. I'm visiting from California and decided to use this gym while I'm here. We used to be members 3 years ago before we moved and I loved the updates they've made at the gym since then. As always, all of the employees were really nice and accommodating. Gary helped me out and set me up with a 3-day pass including the kids club for a very good price. The ladies in the kids club were so nice and really tried to soothe my fussy 10 month old. I really miss being a member here and will keep coming back when I come visit family nearby. read more

Lifetime Fitness of Burr Ridge and Orland Park forced me to cancel my membership since 2003 because they got tired of reminding me to wear my mask. The Orland Park location Mgr falsely stated I was belligerent to staff that requested this. Support local fitness facilities they are more customer conscious. read more

Been a member in orland since 2006 let me tell you, orland location has been at its worst the past few years. Showers and Locker rooms always dirty never clean. Employees don't do anything there, management is shit. Go to Burridge location and man what a dam difference. I drive an extra 20 minutes just to go to Burridge location. read more

This place gets WAY too crowded for my liking, and it's pretty much busy all the time. Let me give you the breakdown of a typical schedule: 5-9am : Business professionals and students 9-3pm: Soccer moms and young children 3-8pm: The WORST time to be there: families, business professionals, and young adults playing basketball 8-11pm: college students 11-5pm: cleaning ladies, the juicers who are buying all the protein shakes from GNC, the larger crowd who are ashamed to work out in the day, and couples who use the pool to make out the facilities are big, but there are always people leaving their garbage and towels in the locker rooms and showers and a shortage of towels from people taking 6 for themselves. not to mention the workers are pushyyyy. members supposedly get 3 visitor passes a year, but visitors have to go through a members rep. before they go in, an interview, and a tour of the place. i ended my membership with Lifetime a year ago, and I still get emails from them every few weeks asking for me back. i'm just hard-to-get i guess. read more

For those of you looking to feel incompetent, judged, and inferior look no further! The muscle-maniacs and deesperate housewives of Orland Park are here to help you feel just that! Yes it's 24 hours, and big pool, and lots of machines, but I have found other gyms with good amenities and don't feel like it's a big singles market. Many of the women here wear insane amounts of makeup, and the guys are constantly staring at themselves in the mirror, usually for many minutes before they actually pick up a barbell. Sometimes a few good laughs, but mostly annoying. The only time I enjoyed going was on off hours while everyone was either sleeping or at work converting lead into gold which is what you need to do to afford this place. It is very expensive, and in many peoples opinion, WAY overpriced. There are a few workers there that are very nice and very good at their jobs. Mike Wolf the trainer is really an amazing person overall, a bunch of the staff at the towel desk, Stefani always has a smile and a great attitude, and I haven't had a bad experience with any of the Masseuses there(I cashed in a bunch of credits for a couple discounted massages), Liza is great at what she does, pleasant, and does a great job to make you feel comfortable if you've never received a massage before. There will always be a few that seem like they have a barbell stuck somewhere unpleasant, but all in all the staff usually is very good. Overall, if you are there in the middle of the night, and that is your normal schedule, it is a great gym. But the classes are generally overcrowded, and during normal hours the gym usually feels overcrowded, and overdressed for the small fortune you have to pay to workout there. read more

Was a member here for a while and was forced to find an alternative gym due to a few major issues: First, the company puts an extraordinary amount of pressure on its trainers to sell training sessions (and at outrageous prices). Not fair to the trainers or the patrons of the gym. Trainers are expected to walk around and try and pick up customers ... very annoying for those that want to just get a workout done and not chat about whether or not they need personal training. There is a very high turnover rate of trainers because of this issue. LTF corporate needs to take a better look at their model here, in my opinion. Second, the prices! While this gym is more like a club (with a salon, cafe, nice locker rooms, etc.) the prices for training and "special" classes are absolutely unreasonable. For example their crossfit-like class is a whopping $200/month for only 2 days/week of classes ... and that's in addition to the monthly membership. You can take unlimited crossfit anywhere nearby for $75-$100/month. And personal training costs a minimum of $80 per hour. Ridiculous. Another issue that needs to be addressed by LTF corporate. Finally, this particular location has an issue with obnoxious 20-somethings who think that other people constantly want to clean up after them. The staff tries hard to pick up, but as fast as they can clean things up and organize the weights someone else comes along and makes a mess. This is not an issue at other LTF gym locations ... just this particular location. Things missed - the POOL! Great pool open year-round (they have both an indoor and outdoor pool) and with relatively flexible hours for kids to get their swim on during the cold winter months. And the locker rooms - not that you spend a lot of time in the locker room at a gym, but they do keep these locker rooms clean and nice. read more

So with that being said, I'm sort of over it! It should be noted that I am not at all opposed to shelling out for a good gym, but I am opposed to many silly little charges this company thinks will slip by unnoticed. Great staff and a myriad selection of work out equpiment/machines. The basketball court floor was recently replaced. My issue is the curfew guideline for 17 and under. After 11 PM, no one under 17 years of age is permitted inside the building. Apparently, customers complained during spring break (2014) that too many kids were on the basketball courts. Since then, they have enofrced the curfew guideline. Here's why the curfew guideline doesn't make sense: The basketball courts are usually occupied by older teens and adults throughout the day and up until the evening. After 10 PM, the courts are generally empty. That's when the younger teenagers have unlimited access to the basketball courts. There should not be complaints of members 17 and younger occupying the courts since the courts are generally empty. Perhaps they should change the guideline to state that 17 and younger are not allowed on the basketball court until after 9:30 PM. Most younger members and adult members are home by that time anyway. This would allow for those younger members with a flexible schedule to enjoy the basketball courts. My son is 13 years old. He accompanies me often to the gym so that he may play basketball while I work out. On weekends, we would arrive at 10 PM (when the courts are generally empty). Since I can no longer enjoy my workout past 11 PM in the evening, it doesn't make sense to pay a membership fee for a 24 hour facility when I cannot take advantage of the 24 hour hours of operation. Therefore, I have decided to cancel my membership and join a facility which has a lesser membership fee due to being non-24 hour facility. read more

I used to work but recently I retired, yay! This gym was near where I worked and not too far from where I live. It wasn't enticing enough to maintain my membership. I had been a member for 5+ years but only because it was super convenient. Lifetime is a big gym with all the pluses of a big gym - open all the time, indoor and outdoor pools, babysitting, lots of classes, etc. But it also had all the negatives of a big gym - crowded, equipment breaking, members leaving their garbage all over and no real sense of belonging or community. The staff members were usually bitter and complaining about their jobs and how over worked they were. The locker rooms were generally nasty. They need better management and better communication with members. I will miss the Lite Cafe, Mary Lou at the front desk and swimming in the early fall when the pool is finally not crowded. I worked out to relieve stress but this gym was very stressful to use. read more
