Brought my dad on recommendation of his primary doctor after an abnormal urine test. He was honest in his approach to a common but complicated issue. My dad wanted a second opinion and we went to USC Keck where the MD there wanted to take a very aggressive approach that included removal of an organ. He didn't even look at my dad or ask him questions. Back to Dr. Dikranian we told him of the opinion and he did not agree. We agreed with Dr. Dikranian as well. My dad had two procedures to get the situation resolved. Unfortunately my dad didn't take his medicine as prescribed and had to be taken to the ER. Dr. Dikranian was in communication with the hospitalist and the issue was promptly resolved. We are really thankful for Dr. Dikranian for his knowledge and his incredible bedside manner. We also appreciate his bilingual staff who make us feel welcome and the ease to make appointments. read more

Not a good doctor. Drove from LasVegas to here to see him. Was told nothing was " Structurally Wrong " Told me he was sorry and that's that. Was recently diagnosed with pudendal Neuralgia & Penile thrombosis ( Penis Blood Clot ) as well as Varicoceles in my testicles. Additionally was diagnosed with atherosclerosis ( Clogged arteries ) in which is attacking my penile area first. I am currently doing more testing and lifestyle treatments however I have received opinions from a couple other doctors and they said I may require surgery to resolve these issues, the thing is I have more than one issue. While I stand by my original review of Dr. Dikranian and his staff, I have been unable to seek follow-up care with Dr. Dikranian due to the restrictions on the insurance that they accept. His office dropped the insurance under which I was receiving care and I was told that I would therefore not be able to continue seeing him. The next year, I switched insurance to one that showed Dr. Dikranian in-network and called to make an appointment. I was told that despite the insurance company showing him in-network, they do not take the insurance, as they don't take any HMOs. The next year, I switched to a PPO, (at twice the cost), also showing Dr. Dikranian in-network, and called to make an appointment. I was told that despite the insurance company showing him as in-network, and despite the plan being a PPO, they still don't take the insurance, as they don't take any of the Blue Shield individual plans. As far as I can tell, the bottom line seems to be that unless you get your insurance through an employer, they will not take your insurance. I know the insurance situation in this country is about as screwed up as it can get, at least if you're in the individual marketplace, but I can't really leave a 5-star review standing when I've tried this hard to maintain my care with them and they have made it impossible for me to do so. read more

Dr. Armen recently did a Prostate Biopsy for me. While it is a very uncomfortable procedure, I was so impressed with his technique and his communication with me throughout the 1/2 hour procedure. He made me feel very comfortable and he is a very caring Doctor. Also, he called me the minute that he found out the results as he knew I was waiting to hear the news, good or bad! If I was able to give anything lower than the one star - I would. I am appalled by the office coordinators and staff. In fact that the Doctor is allowing this sort of incompetent and unprofessional behavior to be a reflection of himself. - Dr. Dikranian is very disturbing. Originally, I (we) thought the world of Dr. Dikranian for taking care of my father, however I feel very strongly to write a review about the treatment my father has received not only from the staff but at this point of Dr. Dikranian himself. Bed side manners obviously don't exist, and just as it is the case in many doctor offices we have come to experience now a-days - you are just a number - very few doctors exist because they are passionate about, it's a business and you are just a patient. A while ago I had an appointment with him. I explained the issues I had. I told him That I feel there is an extra tissue in a specific area. He scheduled another visit to check for prostate cancer but he told me " that extra tissue is most probably your imagination " and that was it. He didn't bother to even look at it. His assistant , Maggy has a horrible attitude. She's rather authoritarian. The manager, Irma is not very professional. She knows nothing about phone etiquette. Regarding Dr Dikranian he does not have clue what happens in the office. He's never there! The one thing he doesn't know to my surprise is how to analyze the bacteria in order to give a specific antibiotic. He rather have the Infectious Disease Specialist do his work. Passing the buck. I've never felt as if I couldn't ask him anything, and he always answers all your questions. And it's not just the doctor. His office is ran perfectly. When my dad had come back from the emergency room for having enlarged prostate, I scheduled an office visit with Dr. Dikranian after coming across his google reviews. I myself have been in the medical field for over 15 years and yet I have not come across a more professional and friendly doctor like Dr. Dikranian, (specially in L.A). I had an appointment with Dr Dikranian and at the day of appointment instead I was seeing his nurse practioner. The front desk didn't bother reaching out to me that I wouldn't be seeing Dr Dikranian. I was told he was in surgery. Maggie, his medical assistant is very rude and has no patience. She should not be answering phones. I'd call his office and I would be encountered with the rude front desk. No professionalism what's so ever. It's shocking. Put me on hold and disconnect me. Not very good telephone etiquette. Not enough words to express how horrible the front desk is. I reported this rudeness to the office manager, Irma and she didn't do a thing. In fact, she took their side that they were not rude and it was a figment of my imagination! Dr Dikranian is very hard to be contacted. He's not in the office frequently. He's out, performing surgeries or on lengthy vacations. If he is in the office he's with patients and will not return calls. I believe Dr Dikranian will only have your attention if it's regarding surgery $$$$. He's in for the $$$ and not for his patients. What a shame. Dr. Dikranian is good. His back-office staff that handles scheduling and billing does a very poor job and lacks professionalism. Visiting Dr. Dikranian can be very stressful as is, but having a staff that does not effectively communicate, provide scheduling confirmations, double books patients and does not invoice timely (if at all) really adds to the overall stress. I would recommend finding a different doctor with a better supporting cast. read more

Dr. Dikranian rallied to help me through one of the toughest times of my life: an acute kidney stone attack just days before my oldest son's wedding. He carefully explained my options, helped to manage my pain, and was kind and considerate throughout the process. I made it to the wedding and then later had the stone surgically removed. I was so apprehensive about seeing another new doctor. I have had my problem for more than 2 years and it has gotten worse over then last 6 months. Once I spoke with the office I had a good feeling. They are organized, clean and Covid compliant. My wait time before I was called in was very minimal. Dr. Dikranian's assistant was so nice and calming. (She told me her name, twice in fact, and I still forget it). Sorry. When the doctor came in the room he had reviewed all of my reports and referral paperwork. He was so thorough and answered every question I had. He made a plan for me moving forward and a change immediately in my medicine. This has been such a problem that his certainty and caring disposition nearly made me cry. I am so very glad to have been referred to this doctor. This the worst experience I had with this doctor. Actually I didn't have a chance to see him. I made an appointment to see this doctor two months ago. This appointment was for my elderly disabled parents to see this doctor. It was the first time. When I got there, the front desk girl told me that we were late for 30 minutes and the doctor couldn't take us. I tried to explain that we came so far and my parents are disabled and I had so much trouble to get them to see a doctor and the doctor could at least take one of my parents to examine. So the girl supposedly went to doctor to ask a permission to see my parents and came back with ''no the doctor can't see you because you are late". What kind of doctor can do that? It was so arrogant, cold minded, rude, disrespectful, unprofessional of them towards the patient. They are absolutely jeopardizing patients' health and mental state. My mom and dad were in shock for a long time and definitely won't have any desire to see that doctor ever in their life. Their disappointment was so high that I couldn't persist them to give one more chance. I would not recommend anyone to this doctor for sure. read more

Dr. Dikranian has been my fathers dr. for almost 2 years now and has been nothing but amazing since day one. Two years ago it came to my attention that my father was dealing with a prostate issue. I began my search for urologists when I came across Dr Dikranian. I placed a call and left a message for Dr Dikranian while my father was in the hospital and I needed immediate attention to address his prostate issue. Dr Dikranian called me back the same day and took his time to explain things to me. He helped us get an appointment right away and ended up performing my dad's prostate procedure. The procedure went amazingly well and Dr Dikranian continues to see my father. He is the type of doctor that takes his time with each of his patients. You're never waiting long to see him and his front staff is amazing. so professional and sweet. I did not have the opportunity to meet this doctor nor any of his colleagues. Due to the bureaucracy that is know as American Healthcare, this is this only doctor I can see for my urology needs. However I have had nothing but negative experiences here in the two times I've tried to be seen. In fairness to the doctors of this practice, I have never made it past the rude receptionists, you would think though, with it being an office setting, under non-emergent conditions and dealing with such a sensitive medical specialty that they would go out of their way to make patients, especially males, coming in for life changing procedures more comfortable. But alas, that is only the hope... The reality is an ice cold, sterile BUSINESS, where the focus appears not to be on providing quality patient care but instead, making money. The impersonal, yet understandable paperwork seems to be a prerequisite before any interactions are made, particularly friendly ones. Even just, "hey, how's your day going?" is reserved for patients who have established their financial responsibility I have been in Emergency Rooms that are nicer and are more accommodating. The reality is due to insurance, which I have from a full time employer, I will have to try again to come to this office, my hope is this review is read and kindness and more importantly empathy will be authorised and utilised. I showed up to my first appointment 15 minutes early so I could have enough time to take care of paper works. After waiting 45 minutes I was admitted to the exam room. After another 15 minutes, a man showed up and told me Dr. Armen is not available so he is going to see me instead. I found out later he is a nurse practitioner. I asked him why I was not called before I come in. I have to take half a day off from work. He said sorry. I said I want my credit back because they charged me upfront. I asked the office staff to write me a short note for my record. It only need to mention no doctor has seen me for this visit. They refused to do that. After arguing with the Administrator woman for about 10 minutes she unwilling gave me a memo. I ran into bait and switch before. However, in all the other cases they will let me know when I check-in, not after waiting an hour. I think this is a very unprofessional way to treat a customer. read more

I met Dr. Dikranian in the ER at Huntington Hospital due to a kidney issue that I was dealing with. I was doing multiple​ ER/DR visit and not getting any answer until we were introduced. He knew exactly what was wrong and helped me every step of the way. I cant tell you how difficult​ it was for me and how much I needed someone like him to guide me through my medical journey​. I did 3 separate​ procedures with him and throughout that time he was always there to help. This is a Dr that truly​ cares​ for his patients​ and is willing to listen to your concerns and guide you in​ the right direction. I have never been to such an unprofessional office and I would never recommend Dr. Dikranian to anyone. I called the office after my surgery and asked to speak to him because I was in so much pain. He never returned my call and when his surgery coordinator called to schedule a follow-up, I asked her why he had not returned my call. She thought it was funny. So, I asked if there was another Dr. I could speak to since he did not seem to care for his patients. She then because rude and gave me attitude. As far as his front office staff, they couldn't get the dates correct for on my Dr.'s note even though I had told them three times what the dates were. When I called regarding this the receptionist told me she did not know who it was, had to look for the person, and would put me on hold for long periods of time. Mind you, they are all together in one big room so I do not know why it would take so long. At the end, I couldn't hold on any longer and hung up. I believe this Dr. is just in for the money. Once the surgery is done there is no reason to follow up on the patient care since he'll be receive his money from the insurance. dr. dikranian has excellent bedside manner and came across as very thorough and knowledgeable, most importantly sincere. my chief complaint is his incompetent staff! starting with office manager marsha that comes across as literally rude and ignorant. the rest of the staff bertha, maggy and lorena are just as incompetent, you call office they repeatedly hangup on you and are very unprofessional!! marsha the supposed office manager put me on hold for 35 minutes and forgot all about me and went into a meeting, np paul was to take my call and he also never picked up the line. i finally call back to see what very long delay was and no one had a good answer but, " we forgot". finally i call back to have a rx called in a pharmacy and dr. dikranian's nurse (teresa) calls in my rx but calls it in under her name!!! i go to pharmacy to pick up my called in rx that (paul) was calling in and no rx to pick up in my name!! the pharmacist informed me when teresa called it in the new rx names were reversed. very incompetent move and dangerous!! this was at 9am and by 3pm teresa and marsha still had not figured out the huge mistake they had made, then to make matters worse the pharmacist tries to call these morons back and they're closed for lunch until 1:30pm. then pharmacist noticed they wrote a medication that shows warnings if taken with a medication that im already taking, and was really alarmed they didn't catch that mistake being my records show my meds. i finally got dr. dikranian to call me back after leaving messages for (3) days and shared with him the horrific nightmare i experienced from his sheerly incompetent and rude staff being, maggy, bertha, teresa, paul and surprisingly the rude incompetent manager marsha. i told dr. he'd do better running a (5) ring circus with this horrific, rude and incompetent staff!! all mentioned could hugely benefit from additional training or retraining! sadly you find a good doctor and his staff is running a circus atmosphere and they come with him. read more

While this doctor always has a months long wait for appointments, it should be taken as nothing but a good sign. I had my vasectomy performed by Dr. Dikranian a couple years ago and visited his office today for an unrelated issue. The issue was not anything to be truly worried about and Dr Diranian was sure to take the time to tell me what is and is not related to my previous surgery. He was very patient with my questions and at no time did I feel rushed. When I arrived to his office some people were upset about waiting 45 min and left, but were called almost immediately after they did... The wait time for me was mainly due to my need to fill in new paperwork since their office had moved from Alhambra, and I felt like I was assisted quickly.
