Jelise, Your and…read moreAnnette's behavior today was disingenuous and unprofessional. First of all, it was not time for an evaluation, and you had decided before the visit that it was going to be my last one, and neither you nor Annette told me before the appointment. I should have had the option to decide whether or not I wanted to take part in a sham evaluation that seemed designed to cover up that Annette's advice had injured me.  I should have been able to decide whether I wanted to take part in an evaluation that would not benefit me at all when I was there to actually receive treatment.  The pretext you decided to use to disrupt my medical treatment was that I was not willing to do exercises. I guess it's fun to ignore that I was injured by the foam roller exercises that Annette gave me and had to work hard to decompress my spine.  Myofascial release and stretching are as important as exercises. Just giving someone exercises is a recipe for injury.  I said that I was willing to do exercises. I simply wanted to not be injured, and to receive treatment. Though it was very scary to have my back pinching for the first time in my life, and very uncomfortable to have pain in my cervical spine from the compression, the upside is that the kyphosis is correcting. The downside is that as my spine straightened I started to feel pain in my sternum from the pulling. Apparently I was just supposed to put up with your therapists' haphazardly treating me without dealing with my actual body in real time as it changed from the treatment, and get injured.  It seems like you failed to injure me significantly or trigger me into leaving, I expect you to actually treat my body, and so you decided to deny me service. It seems like there is some quality of mine that makes you think it is acceptable to discriminate against me.  It seems like it is regular business practice for you to trigger people to opt out or to not treat them. So, now I have to report your business to my insurance company. I also have to report Claire and Annette for their bizarre and unprofessional behavior.  I'm guessing that the business owners rubber stamp your unethical spinning and justification of refusing patients service (since you said you have been there for 12 years and had no problem looking me in the face and discriminating against me and inventing pretexts), but I will report you to them. Please ensure that both Claire and Annette know that I was actually there to be treated and didn't have any intention of being triggered or injured, and I will be reporting them. In case you were misleading them, they should have the chance to actually treat me.  If they have been entrapped, I am not the one entrapping people. I just want to be functional and pain-free. It is a felony to collaborate to prevent someone from being able to use their medical insurance to receive treatment. I will also be reporting you to law enforcement. Kyeann Sayer

The place is clean and quiet, pretty conducive to getting relaxation and re-centering yourself. The only drawback was....the wait for an acupuncture session is long! It takes 2-3 months out before you can get in. In my case, I had a session and scheduled another follow up 2 months+ out...only to be called 2 days before my appointment that the practitioner was out and no offer to reschedule without much wait. It was a bit frustrating but I think if they are more availability, I wouldn't mind stopping by again.

I cried as I wrote in my journal, "I don't remember feeling this great, ever!" I knew then that everyone in my network who was struggling with health needed to do this program. I will continue to tell anyone and everyone that Red River Health and Wellness can do more for you than anyone out there. This program has saved my life. So this is a difficult review to write because my criticisms are through absolutely no fault of…read moretheir own. But they are huge so must be mentioned. I have an interesting mix of symptoms and issues that I'll summarize by just saying I'm tired all the time. Since I've been having these issues (5 years) I've seen 7 different doctors. I have not been tested for anything. I've been told I'm too fat and that I should "consider going to the gym". Some doctors refuse to give me medications, others load me up with pain killers and muscle relaxants that leave me unable to safely drive. It's awful not getting quality care or even just being listened to as a human being. Friends with chronic pain and autoimmune disorders sympathize and have given me significantly better "care" over the internet than the actual doctors I've seen. One friend was commiserating with me once again recently when she realized there is a Red River Health & Wellness here in ABQ. (She goes to one in another state for her thyroid issues and loves it.) I saw that they do a free consultation and I jumped on it! They tell you to arrive half an hour early to fill out the VERY comprehensive medical forms if you are not able to print them and fill them out at home. They ask questions on there about symptoms I've had and didn't think any doctor would take seriously! (Dismissing them as merely cosmetic). Red River takes note of all that! It was AMAZING talking to Dr Joshua Conzo! Thorough, caring, knowledgeable. THIS is what a doctor should be. THIS is how medical care should be!! We discussed not just myself but some general medical stuff such as how the thyroid functions normally in a body and several of the things that can go wrong with it. The giant, huge, insurmountable problem: As the chiropractic physicians at Red River practice Functional Medicine, their services are not covered by insurance. Even though their services are well within the parameters of typical western medicine (eg ordering a blood test), their style of doing things isn't covered. It's ludicrous. They are merely ordering for me the tests that any doctor should have ordered, to try to figure out what the heck is going on, and yet because of the type of doctors they are, insurance won't cooperate. The pros are that they are WELL aware of this and have suggestions for how to proceed. The cons are that even with their attempts to bring the price down, you are still paying cash - $300 for tests, $100 for office visits....and who has that kind of money?? This is a PHENOMENAL practice that specializes in issues with the endocrine system. You will get thorough, quality care here. But good luck paying for it. :(
