Whether you are just starting out, or a seasoned athlete, at some point you are most likely going to seek advice on nutrition/diet and/or supplementation and make a purchase. I vaguely recall the first time I stepped into a GNC but I did so because I was new to all this bodybuilding supplementation stuff and needed some protein powder and had a few questions (OK this was before internet forums). One thing about that experience I do remember was that feeling as if I just left a used car lot and got the "scotch guard treatment" thrown in for free because of the "great" sale price. Have you ever asked someone at the GNC or Vitamin Shoppe a question about supplementation methods or a specific product, only to get an answer that leaves you more confused? Or better yet, you find yourself buying a product you have no idea what it does, but the 'GNC/Vitamin Shoppe' person says, "It is great stuff, I use it and it works" or "I know a guy at the gym who was using it and said he got great results" - this coming from a person who appears as if they never have followed a program in their life, or even know what a clean meal looks like! I associate this experience similar to hiring a trainer who looks as if they never trained in their life; not very reassuring. Then there are the online supplement stores. Don't get me wrong, they are convenient, but you have to pay shipping costs and sometimes you can't get everything you need at one store (i.e. you end up making multiple orders at different stores = more shipping costs). There is also the chance that your delivery could contain damaged items. If you order a lot of stuff like me the chances of this happening increase, and does it ever suck when this happens. The other inconvenience is I found was when you run out of something, and need it in a crunch; you are usually forced to wait for it to be delivered. Then there is Arlington Nutrition Corner (ANC). These folks know what they are talking about, they know supplements and sports nutrition, they know the ins and outs of "dieting" (when the word diet becoming a verb is applicable :-)), and last but not least they know a lot of about training and overcoming obstacles to reach athletic goals. The store has some of the highest quality products you'll find in a brick and mortar shop. If there is something specific you are looking for ask one of the guys there for help, they will be more than willing to look something up and order it if need be. Here are what I found to be their strengths: - Great prices - Convenient location in Arlington - Female friendly product range; my wife LOVES this aspect - Great selection of high quality products - All this along with an immense knowledge base of both products and how to integrate them into your training needs! If you are looking for products from supplements to proteins or just need information to be stared in the right direction you MUST visit ANC. The products at Arlington Nutrition Corner are FAR superior to what you will find at chain stores like Vitamin Shop or GNC - yes I just said that!!! Now, the staff - mmwah!! again FIRST CLASS...They acknowledge plus the very minute you step foot in that establishment they make you feel welcome and you are NEVER a bother to them - point blank! Arlington Nutrition Corner (ANC) is hands down the best supplement and vitamin store. ANC carries only the highest of quality products and has a wide range of inventory. The prices are wholesale, so you won't find them cheaper anywhere else. The staff are extremely knowledgeable in a variety of areas...product recommendations, how to bulk up, lean out, etc....if you have a question, the ANC staff will be able to point you in the right direction. This store has been needed in this area for a VERY long time! It is totally different from the typical chain nutrition store (GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc). The employees of the store are very informative, and actually take the products that they sell. Doug Miller, the owner, is very approachable and incredibly knowledgable. I have had many conversations with him about different questions that I had and he gave informative answers, instead of trying to push a certain product on me. Every time I visit ANC, I leave a better educated customer. There isn't a supplement in the store that one of the staff members isn't an expert on. I love the variety of products available at the store - and I would encourage any woman looking to gain lean muscle mass and lose fat to talk to one of the ANC staff members to find the supplements that are right for you. Greatest vitamin and supplement store! The staff is AMAZING and know diet, nutrition and supplementation that allows them to answer any questions that I have asked.
