I have been with the practice for decades. Positives: My hygienist is awesome, very professional, good work, very light touch. Some of the dentists are very good. Dr Bova for example is amazing, perfect touch with Novocaine, not too much or too little, very aware the patient, very good "hands" during procedures. Negatives: Over time it has become like being inside a commercial for aligned products such as Botox, and most recently a diet plan. This may keep costs down, in which case it is a positive, but irritating. When I first went there it was a one Doc operation, and he was very good. Over the years it has grown and a number of dentists have come and gone, some of questionable quality, (although they usually don't last long), and collectively it is pretty impersonal now. If you take the time to talk to individuals, and request specific individuals it is still a good place. If you just take your chances you are still much less likely to have a bad experience than just randomly choosing names from the phone book. But it isn't 1990 anymore either. read more

Lynn at the front dentist is a real rude, clueless nasty person. I'm asking questions about the referral that was sent over to an oral surgeon without my permission and of course I got the full blown attitude because I told her not to send any of my information anywhere without asking the patient first. Then I go back in to tell them that is oral surgeon they recommended has no idea why I'm even being sent there. I have been coming here for many years including my children who are now adults. Everyone seems very pleasant and the place is very clean. Dr. Bova, the hygienist and the rest of the staff have done well in caring for me and my young men throughout the years for our dental needs. Teamwork is on hand here. Dr Bova and her staff at Arlington Dental are amazing. I have been going there for just shy of four years. Very clean establishment, very orderly, excellent customer service and communication, and they do a great job tending to each patient. My sister was using them when she lived in the area, as well. Additionally, I have been doing Invisalign here. Dr Bova has gone above and beyond with me so far on this. My teeth look straight than they have ever been, which makes me extremely happy as I have a wedding around the corner. I can't say enough good things about this practice. These people put 2 VERY COSTLY implants in my mouth .... which they should not have because my bone was too narrow ... as a result both implants loosened after 6 years..both implants had to be removed ... these people offered me no compensation whatsoever... they told me someone new purchased the practice and they weren't liable .. this practice is constantly losing dentists and nurses because the practice is managed so poorly. I also had a tooth extracted with them and the dentist that extracted the tooth didn't know what he was doing ... the extraction took 2 hours the dentist had the worst attitude and told me he didn't care about my business.... Arlington dental frequently pushes procedures that aren't necessary. They will tell you that you have an outstanding balance ....I paid it all off at once when I checked out. I returned the following week for the second treatment and they told me that i still had a large outstanding balance. They told me I had a credit on my account after one visit ...because they reimbursed me for over-charging from prior visits.....only to have then tell me at the time of the next visit that I never had a credit. On top of that I have been off of my parents' insurance for years ..... I'm 28....and they will not take me off from their family account so they try holding me responsible for pending balances from my parents' account.....I have completely separate insurance from them. The stories about being overcharged and pressured into unnecessary procedures are true. They don't attempt to save you money at all. I spent $1000 out of pocket. I called my insurance and I found out that if I did the Arrestin on a different day than the scaling, it would have been covered. They didn't care to tell me that at the office, they just want their cash. The front desk staff are nice but the dentist is very judgmental. I feel ripped off. I have going to Arlington Dental for awhile and had decent exams, cleanings, etc. Then things changed. The amount being billed never really knowing how much a visit would cost and not given an amount. Trying to ask how much I would have to pay or what insurance would cover became an big deal always. Then Ira Stier started pushing things like, deep cleaning, saying your wisdom teeth have to be taken out etc. Beware Arlington Dental is charging clients for temperature readings before you check in without letting you know your being charged!!! Never, ever go to this office (Fishkill or Poughkeepsie). Horrible experience that went on for 4 days. Husband had quite a bit of pain in a tooth. Saw a dentist (not at Arlington) on a Monday. Referred to an endodontist - they are booking out into late Nov. got an appt with Dr. Lopez at Arlington at 9am Tuesday for a second opinion. She never bothered to show up at the Fishkill office (more later). We were sent to the Poughkeepsie office to see Dr. Yang - who was useless and directed us to an endodontist (after I had explained there were no spots in the next 10 days or do). Frantically call an endodontist who makes time to see him. Root is fine. Back to Arlington- first 2 days later at 1 pm. Show up - Dr. Lopez jokes that she was the one who didn't bother to show up on Tuesday morning (great professionalism) -he gets seen - they debate - tooth is cracked, needs to come out. And oh by the way , we take lunch from 2-3 - so come back at 4. Tooth out, all the while the staff is bickering to each other about where the dental tools are - no pain meds provided or called into the pharmacy. NEVER, EVER GO TO THIS PLACE. Now, with friends of ours in the dental profession- tooth looked healthy and they did an unnecessary extraction with a future $$ with a molar implant. read more

Awful customer service, front desk is very rude, they never give documentation (itemized bills), no parent portal to view what your insurance(s) have paid. Rarely, do I get return call, when I leave messages. They have not released my records to my new dentist, after numerous signed releases. I used to use Arlington Dental a lot growing up. I do not know if they changed owners are dentists or what but I have nothing but horror stories about this place. The staff are rude and inconsiderate and the dentists care nothing about customer service, only about rushing you in and out as fast as possible. They basically function like a car does going into a Valvoline (also a horrible place); the dentist comes in, does the work as fast as possible, then leaves and goes to the next "stall" for the next victim. They take no time to answer questions, explain things, etc. All they care about is rushing you in and out as fast as humanly possible, after you sit in the waiting room past your scheduled appointment time. I have had 4 other friends/relatives tell me horror stories about the office staff at this place. Apparently now-a-days the office procedure is to to charge people for things outside their co-pay and giving phoney excuses that it is procedure and how "we already ran it and this is what your insurance states". They also issue refunds once a month, My recommendation is to avoid this place at all costs. They obviously have morons working behind the desk and their dentists' only care about money, not customer service. read more

I just left from getting a cleaning at Arlington dental hours asked to pay $10 to help dentist cover the costs of added Covid Precautions. I was not made aware of this at the time of the appointment I was not made aware of this when I arrived at the appointment I was asked at the end of the appointment I found this to be extremely unprofessional. I had alot going on with my teeth the dental hygienists judged me and ask me why I allowed my teeth to go bad like they were then they did 3 root canals 2 crowns n told me I needed four more on teeth that was fine it hurt no enough numbing meds and the old lady that scans your teeth didn't even know how to work the damn machine $2000.00 later I'm done with this chopshop they call a dental office!!! read more

My name is Michael Hanson. I went to Arlington Dental back in 2016. After exhausting my $2500.00 on my insurance they sucked me in for thousands more. The first thing they did was to put in a three tooth bridge. The rest of the work they did was some minor cavities leaving the worst ones untouched. After the bridge was installed they took an ex ray to make sure it was made and installed correctly. After that I switched to another dentist. He looked at the ex ray and told me the was not correct. I had that confirmed by a specialist. They also both told me the bridge should have not be been the last thing done due to other cavities being worse. I called Arlington up and asked them to have a doctor look at there ex ray and get back to me and tell me if something was wrong with the bridge. After two weeks of calling at least 6 times I still did not get a call form anyone about the bridge. I even spoke to the office manager but still have not heard back. Now the bridge has completely fallen out pins and all leaving me another expense to deal with. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ARLINGTON DENTAL TO ANYONE NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. I had a very similar experience as the last reviewer. I feel they were looking to make money. I asked for a routine check-up and cleaning. Was told I needed deep cleaning and all would be covered except the antiobiotic, which they wanted to charge about $800 for. I declined in order to get a 2nd opinion and they refused to clean my teeth. I did get a 2nd opinion, and was told their insistence in my need for scaling was excessive and not necessary. I was shocked that he would go to such extremes for the love of money and never fear destroying his reputation . His workmanship is terrible! My $9,000 work is not in straight and off color.I read another post where someone saw mistakes in the billing and I too was a victim of that. Then I heard of another person, so cheating you out of your money is part of his game. STAY AWAY from this office. Horrible experience! I was told I needed a deep cleaning(come to find out from another dentist that it was completely unnecessary), mid procedure the billing lady came in and discussed prices and what my insurance will pay. Don't believe them! My insurance told me I was only responsible for $345.00. The dentist office proceeded to tell me I needed to pay $400.00. Right there should have been a red flag for me. They then a month later took another $400.00 from me bringing the total up to $800.00 now. I found out what I was responsible for after the fact. After two months of fighting with the dentist and the rude staff at the front desks who all they had to do was transfer a call, but you know you're taking time from their busy day for them to do that, I will not be getting refunded. Come to find out they tried to bill my insurance company $9,000.00!!!! When I questioned this they played dumb, but my insurance company sent me the bill they sent them. Just stay away from this dentist! I wish I did research because all of the red flags out there were done at this place!!! A visit To Arlington Dental Associates in May of 2011 continues to be a nightmare today. I was there for a routine cleaning when i was told they would not do this simple procedure until i had a rooting(deep cleaning) done. I was assured by the finance specialist(Caryn?) that my insurance Company(delta Dental) would cover this procedure and all i would be responsible for was a co-pay. About month later I received a call from them saying that the procedure was denied because they pulled the same scam on me the year before and delta dental will only cover the procedure every 2 years. Now i am stuck with a bill for nearly $500 because i was lied to and assured that it was a covered procedure. I refused to pay because of their screw up and now instead of writing this off as any other doctor or dental practice would have done, they sent this to a collection agency and reported to credit bureaus. The predatory practices and refusal to do a simple dental cleaning is the cause of this situation. They also lied to the collection agency claiming that I was paid directly for this procedure and refused to forward the payment to them. If they had even tried to work this out with me it could have been resolved, but the attitude from this unscrupulous practice is you signed the ok for the procedure so you are going to pay. They do not care about people here, this is a "Tooth mill" only up-selling procedures and making money. Be sure to sign up for your botox treatment and weight loss classes while your there, and any other money making scams they have come up with since i was in the office last. read more

They have always had patience when explaining procedures as well as how my insurance works. Each member of their staff is extremely knowledgeable in their department and it is obvious that they have strong communication with each other. I have been going to Arlington Dental for many years. I've never been over charged. Fortunately, they take many insurances. At this time I don't have dental insurance but I do have a dental discount plan, which they fortunately take, they don't have to but they do. All charges are always explained before a procedure so there are no surprises. My sister is an office manger for a dentist. I have called her in the past to ask about charges and she always tells me that the charges are very fair; usually less than what her office charges. For those complaining about costs and complaining about front desk, they are not in charge of your fees, they are just doing their jobs. I highly recommend Dr. Steir and will only see him. I also highly recommend Kamini for hygienist, these two are the absolute best! Any dental practice that has been open as long as this one, is bound to get a bad review at some point. I have also had a couple of experiences that weren't the best I've ever had, and I'm glad that they happened after I already knew that this was a great practice. All I did was notify Dr. Steir and he made sure that it was taken care of, he will not tolerate poor service. However, he can't correct this if he doesn't know about it. Never has unnecessary work been done. Dr. Steir will do everything in his power to save your teeth and to be pro-active. He will use least invasive procedure first. read more
