Firstly, I think Dr. Chase really knows about TMJ and treatments and can be really effective for anyone with a lot of time to wait and a lot of money!!
First I went for a consult telling me all about the process and what to expect. I expected my next appointment would be the measuring and testing. No, it was the exact same thing, but this time a couple of pictures were taken and Dr. Chase spent 5 min in my mouth to then tell me everything as before. I was told this second appointment was to see if I "was a candidate." Than what is the first appointment for?! Just an excuse to collect more money. I did have a special scan done in between there but other than "it looks pretty good" I don't know anything more. Oh, the images were there, and shown infront of me, but no specifics were pointed out. None of this has been billed to insurance by them it has so far been entirely out of my pocket. In the month between appointments no attempt to obtain auth from my insurance was made. I filled out a release to get my records from my regular dentist, which this office never sent to them and even forgot they had the form (as they tried to get me to do it again at the second visit). I was told that whenever they do start billing insurance they bill for "every phone call, every visit, every adjustment - we bill for it all". There is a reason the office is beautiful. Its all about getting money - that's more important than the patient. When trying to talk to someone about it - too bad, sorry you don't like it was all I got. I left in tears. Needless to say over $600 has been paid out of my pocket, over a month of time has passed, I am still in pain, broke (although to keep going will cost another $4000 OOP plus whatever they can get from my insurace) and I am not a step further than I was before I started.
