First let me say, this review is way over due! My husband and I were visiting Arizona a few weeks ago and were needing an adults only night out to celebrate a friends birthday. We didn't want to just hire a stranger and didn't know where to look. Fortunately, our friends had used the agency in the past and recommended one of their sitters, Candace. It took some effort on our part to get her number and we SO pleased we did. She was warm, friendly and kind and showed up early just to go over any specific needs and discuss our bedtime ritual. I hired arizona lullaby guild last week for my 9 month old who had to stay home from day care because of a cough. The lady that came the first day only gave him two 6oz bottles in 9 hours and a yogurt. He should have had 12 to 15oz. She also watched Netflix all day instead of play with him. The girl the next day again only gave my baby 6oz all day but NO FOOD. She gave him some puffs but that's it. Not once did she put him in his height chair. In fact she sat him in his bouncer for 4.5 HOURS while he cried. She too just watched Netflix. I got this all on camera. They tried to say he wasnt hungry and was fussy. Well he ate like he was starving when I got home. No one bothered texting me all day to say hey your baby isn't eating. She just let him cry. She didnt play or interact. If he was fussy she should have consoled him. I left the stroller for a walk, utilized that. She ate a ton of food from my fridge but DIDNT FEED MY BABY. Amazing experience with Ilda!!! We were in Scottsdale for a wedding staying at the Scott hotel and hired Ilda for two nights - I will 100% reach out to her again when we are back in AZ! She was perfect. Our 18 month old can be a bit difficult to leave with new sitters but Ilda came with a bag full of toys and arts and crafts - and our little one was having fun right away. This is a little girl who we have had hysterically crying at the site of a new sitter, so I can't tell you how happy we were when I saw her playing with Ilda the second she walked in. She even brought her a stuffed animal of her current favorite animal and gave it to her as a gift! I mean, seriously, amazing. Ilda knew exactly how to take advantage of the fact that we were at a resort - she spend the whole time outside with our daughter, which she LOVES. I got pictures throughout the night and it looked like they were having a blast which meant we could too! Our little one can also be very difficult to put to bed. Ilda had an easier time that me and had her sleeping on time without crying. Again, I couldn't have been happier. In terms of the agency, I found them to be extremely responsive and enjoyed working with them. We weren't originally going to use a sitter for the first night we were in town but changed our minds that afternoon and they were still able to secure us with Ilda (who we had booked for the subsequent night). My housekeeper walked in on one of their nannies smoking in the presence of my kids. My experience with this service ranged on a spectrum from mediocre to unpleasant/ unacceptable. They are available for last moment appointments. However, I walked in on one their sitters with earbuds on and coloring her own pictures. Her back was towards my toddlers while she was coloring with markers, talking on the phone with earbuds, and my children were sitting on the couch watching TV. Watch the hours that they charge you, they tended to round up by half an hour. I had one lady stay an extra half hour talking to me about her own personal medical history and then she added that time to billed hours as a nanny. read more

We used AZ Lullaby Guild for Senior care after my 91 year old mother had a fall and spent 2 nights in the hospital. We were advised to have 24 hour care for her at home (or have her go to assisted living rehab). We called Darlene the day Mom left the hospital and she had a caregiver there that night for a 12 hour shift. We had daytime & nighttime help for about a week, intermittent after that. The caregivers took care of all of Mom's needs, were very considerate and kind. They helped with bathing, cooking, light cleaning. Made sure Mom was safe when I wasn't able to be there. My husband, 6 yo son and I recently traveled from CT to AZ to attend a retreat hosted by my husband's company. We were staying at an incredible resort/hotel. His company had adult-only events each night of our stay so we needed care for our son. The resort/hotel referred us to Arizona Lullaby Guild. So I reached out and I'm so thankful we did. My conversation with the owner of Arizona Lullaby Guild was professional, courteous and thorough. After learning more about my son and inquiring about our care-giving preferences, she said she knew the perfect caregiver for us - Amy Kahn - and she directly connected us with Amy. Prior to traveling to AZ, we were able to speak directly to Amy, who shared details about her life and experience with us, answered all of our questions, and inquired about our family, our son and our expectations for our trip. Although it's always hard at first to entrust a child to a caregiver you've never met or don't know very well, any uneasiness was immediately put to rest. Amy came to our resort/hotel each night during our stay. She always arrived a few minutes early, and she was always pleasant and professional. Most importantly, she engaged instantly and easily with our son. Each night she brought different activities for them to do together based upon my son's interests. They had a blast! We paid Amy for her services directly each night. We found the process convenient and the hourly rate to be competitive. What a relief and a treat for us this experience was, as my husband and I were able to attend the events each night with the peace of mind knowing our son was safe, being well-cared for and having a good time as well. Darlene runs a wonderful organization with highly qualified and caring people! My Dad needed a home aide and we were so lucky to find Lullaby! He had 12 hour a day care til his final days and the quality, value and sincere caring people was a blessing to him and to my family. This agency used to be good. But has turned out to be horrible. The owner is so defensive about her employees and is OK with the fact that the nannies will watch NetFlix the whole time they are baby sitting using my account. That too inappropriate shows that are not ok for 5 year old and under to even watch. When I confronted the problem the agency should have investigated and acted appropriately but instead they lost me as a customer and didn't care that the hired baby sitter did wrong things in my house. I was using them for years and have been so unhappy with the owners ways of handling the situation that I would never recommend his agency to anyone. read more

I'll start by saying Darlene the owner is rude and brusque.. She has started to hire older teens who don't even have first aid and cpr or a background check like she claims they do. Some sitters have never baby sat before and don't know how to change a diaper.. I have spoken to other families who have had sitters that are very aggressive with the children... I would personally ask Darlene to show you proof that the nanny you are getting has all, the above mentioned... God forbid something happen to our children .... Her tone and demeanor is condescending .,, She must not card about this family owned business going down the drain ... Beware.... Accident waiting to happen... From what the nannies say she takes a big chunk of commission and Nannys get poor pay ....how s that when she charges so much ... BBB should be contacted or 3 on your side . read more

This has been the third time I've used this service and only because I had no other choice. They have never provided a receipt without having to ask a number of times. They always require cash, they were late did not have change and considered it a "tip" be warned this is not a good service. Wish there were other reliable places out there! read more

We flew to Scottsdale for a wedding at a nice resort. The wedding was adults only and we needed a babysitter for our 2 kids (1 and 4). The resort recommended Arizona lullaby but the reviews were so mediocre it made me hesitate to use them. I'm so glad we did. The resort and the owner of Arizona lullaby put me at ease. The owner is exceptionally rude. We have intermittently used the service for many years for the sake of convenience - we liked the ability to call for a sitter as one was needed, rather than having to commit to a set number of hours per week to keep a permanent sitter. Each time we would place the call for the request, Darlene would seem offended and put off by having to take our call. Her tone was like she was speaking to a child when she would re-iterate the rules of the agency to us, as if after numerous times of using the service, we couldn't recall how to be decent people to someone entering our home. Some of the babysitters we found through her service were lovely - but that was not the majority. Most of them left our home very dirty when we arrived, not cleaning up the dishes or pots they had used to cook something for the kids, leaving uneaten food out until we returned - arts and crafts supplies spread all over the table. Obviously this was not always the case - but frequently it was. Other sitters relied heavily on the TV for longer babysitting jobs. After using the service for a while, it began to feel like a golden handcuff - we had no sitters of our own and so had to rely on their agency if we needed a sitter, even as we were growing more and more displeased. Today, after once again hearing Darlen's rudeness, and insulting tone when speaking to us as we placed the call - we've decided to use another service for good. Rather than feeling she had some basic interest in the welfare of our kids and a proper match for entertaining and caring for little ones, we have the sense that she is overburdened and annoyed by her own business. I couldn't be happier with AZ Lullaby Guild. My wife and I are from out of town and recently bought a house in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Since this is not our permanent residence, we were in need of in home day care for our 5 year old. The day after I made the call, we had a licensed, back ground checked, CPR certified and willing to work with our schedule lady ready to go to work... Whenever and for however long we needed. Our schedule has been crazy and the owner has worked with us every step of the way making sure we were taken care of. We were nervous trusting our child with a complete stranger but after three weeks we can honestly say that our concerns have gone away.
