I just stopped by the counter (time to brush up that Italian) and ordered a panino a porchetta i uno bottiglia di aqua frisante. Can go wrong - pork sandwich and cold sparkling water. Her Roman boyfriend has been coming to this place since he was a kid. This is where all the locals are. This was our last Italian meal, and it was a great way to end the trip. The porchetta was unreal, which you'd expect because Ariccia is the birthplace of porchetta. So flavorful. We got so many other dishes as well: bruschetta with tomatoes that definitely were super fresh, mozzarella, arrosticini (sheep skewers), (coppiette) some sort of spicy jerky, horse meat (yes -- first time; not a fan, but worth trying), and amazing cacio e pepe. We ordered a couple bottles of this fizzy red wine that they have. Didn't seem super alcoholic, but it was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. Everyone else was drinking it, so why not? If you're able to get out to Ariccia, it's worth the trip. Parking might be tough depending on the time of day. We had to park about a 5-minute walk away. I recommend reservations, and they do accept credit card.

Walking up, you'll see that Juri's restaurant has a very large (boxed-in) outside seating area. For a lovely summer night, this is a perfect dining experience, but as my friend and his wife had their infant with them, we elected to sit inside so any crying wouldn't disturb patrons outside (we were the only ones not dining al fresco). Raw oysters were ordered for the table as appetizers, and while I didn't partake (not my thing), they looked fresh and everyone else enjoyed heartily. The paella main course, though. Oh - that paella. My picture doesn't do justice to just how massive it is. Prawns, mussels, clams, scallops, seasoned rice, cooked so that the rice on the bottom was wonderfully crispy. This one rivaled paellas I've had in Barcelona and Ibiza. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and I'm not sure if it was because we were the only people seated inside or because there was a really cute little 18-month old to draw the waitress' attention over every so often. Juri came out to check on us, and it was hard to answer without falling all over myself with praise. I look forward to being back here because if they could do this large and complex of a dish well, I'd love to see what they do with single orders.

It took them 45 minutes to bring out our food which was two pasta dishes and a rabbit dish. It's a quaint little place that you gotta take the time to sip a glass of wine to appreciate. If you are in a hurry don't go there. Food is OK. I think they are better options in Rome. The wasps and pigeons can be annoying if you are sitting outside.

Pasta dishes are quite cheap and actually very delicious. 6 euros for a delicious carbonara. My dad had fresh fettuccine with a white ragu, my brother rigatoni con la pajata.
