Sometimes you need an energy boost, metabolism kickstarter, or just a miscellaneous pick-me-up and Vitamin Shoppe has you covered. The sales people are friendly and helpful (if perhaps a tiny bit pushy) and pointed me in the right direction for what I sought. They carried bottles of Korean red ginseng (my alternative to a can of diet Coke) as well as a Red Bull-esque canned drink that didn't suck. Prices are reasonable -- I think? -- and upon checkout I was given a free energy bar with my purchase, so yay! Selection of products appeared vast, so if they don't carry the exact item you're looking for, odds are good that sh*t doesn't exist. Vitamin Shoppe, you're not fooling anyone with your goofy old English name. C'mon now. Just smile and sell your protein shakes :)

For me, as a chemist, it's all organic because it is carbon hydrogen based, but I digress. They sometimes have a selection of cured meats and cheeses that I don't see at my regular locations, which is a treat. This location also carries alcohol. I have gotten the DOC prosecco and recommend it for mimosas as you don't want to use a really good bottle of bubbles for that (it's a waste). Produce is usually good, but depends on the day and time. Sometimes you will find items that are overripe or have started to mold, but I could say the same thing for Jewel or Mariano's. They also have a good selection of the Specialty Selected items (European cookies/crackers, stuffed olives, fig jam, etc.). While this store is similar to others I shop at, I like the fact that I can get in and out in a relatively short time. I also love this one cashier named Sue. She is just so full of life and is so friendly and funny. I have waited in line just to get her because she makes me smile with her running commentary :-) And so we are clear, she is moving your stuff from the belt to the cart in record speed. She is a keep Aldi location 1345 W North Ave....treat her well.

The selection is so small here too, the only good products they carry are Cresco, which is so subpar. They need to work on Customer Service and stop staffing people with unhelpful, unhealthy attitudes at the front. It costs more there but just go to Sunny Side in Elmwood Park. If you're an employee working there, look at the video footage from 12/15/2024 At 9 am on the dot. The young lady working there was very nice. She was so friendly and patient while I decided what I wanted. I really liked the protein bowl. It was a nice size. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting. I can't remember the name of the refresher beverage I ordered but it was a bit sweet to me. I added more ice to balance it out and it was tasty. This is a good spot to grab a protein shake, bowl or an energizing beverage. I'll be returning to try more items on the menu.
