She ordered the New York Strip, and I ordered my usual Crab Cake Sandwich. We also shared our favorite Buffalo Shrimp and Skillet Cornbread. As usual, the service was very good. Our waiter was attentive, and we enjoyed our meal and time together. After we finished eating, we stayed for a while to talk and take photos. During that time, I began feeling nauseous. We left the restaurant and sat in the parking lot for about an hour because I wasn't feeling well. Once we got home, my symptoms worsened significantly. The following day, I was experiencing severe gastrointestinal symptoms and extreme fatigue. Unfortunately, I was unable to report to work on what should have been my first day as Captain. I went to urgent care, where I was diagnosed with food poisoning. As a result, I've been home recovering and do not expect to return to work until June 22, 2026. What should have been a memorable celebration turned into a very disappointing experience. My wife spent more than $200 on the meal, including the tip, and the outcome was certainly not what either of us expected.

It was very last minute, and after one store in the area was somewhat rude and another never answered their phone ... decided to look up reviews and happened upon this outstanding establishment! Third times a charm: when we called, the gentleman who answered was gracious and said that he would get us to a manager or owner within five minutes. Sure enough: within five minutes we got a callback from the owner! We explained that we needed to get a fine champagne delivered as soon as possible to someone in their area, and would like to ask that the gift card please be printed and the champagne gift wrapped. The owner said no problem to both requests. He patiently went through all of their fine champagnes, and we were able to pick one that was both within our budget but also very upscale. He also graciously worked with us on the delivery. Everything happened so swiftly and seamlessly, and we were assured not just of immediate delivery, but also a 2nd delivery in case nobody was around to except the gift middle of the day. Just blown away by the attentiveness, kindness, and outstanding service. Whatever your liquor needs - whether it's just a nice case of upscale brewskie... a high end gift ... or anywhere in between... MUST CALL!

If I were closer, I could see myself going to Freddy Hill on the regular, instead I only really made it out once every other month for their amazing ice cream. I have been to their mini-golf once or twice. It is certainly a good date spot for young and old. I appreciate how they have covered and uncovered driving ranges with cheap buckets-o-balls. I cannot comment on their batting cages other than to say they have them. So seriously, back to the ice cream. You can get what you like in cup or cone. Or, hear me out, you go to the shop (attached to the ice cream joint) and get a bucket (err gallon) and bring it home to enjoy for slightly longer. They have standard and more unique options. My go to is Peanut Butter. Freddy Hill, you will be missed. I hope I get out there at least once more before it is time...

I've experienced many beautiful sunsets while at a round of mini golf. It's definitely something nice to do after you've had dinner at home or just wanna get out for the evening. Mini golf is awesome and hitting some balls at the range is always a crowd pleaser there is batting cages as well. Pricing is perfect! They offer a military discount as well, which is nice. I'm not sure about any other discounts every time we go. We have a fantastic time. Staff is very helpful. They are always working and cleaning up areas. After a round of mini golf or hitting some balls at the driving range, I always and my visit with vanilla peanut butter ice cream in a pretzel cone. That is the only way to end a day at Freddie Hill Farm. NOTE: Freddy Hill Farm will be closing at the end of the summer at some point I happen to see a news article go out from a local paper and also on social media. So if you've been thinking of going or you need to get your fixed before they close or go under new membership, I would go this summer and or now.

The first thing I did was head straight for my favorite, Cantillon from Belgium. This visit, I tried their Kriek LG, a fruited lambic made by adding sour cherries to a two-year-old aged lambic. All I can say is... WOW! Tart, complex, refreshing, and dangerously drinkable. If beer could win an Academy Award, this one would be giving an acceptance speech. Now, let's talk food. I ordered the Thai Curry Mussels, and they were absolutely outstanding. The broth was packed with flavor, and the mussels were cooked perfectly. They easily rank in the top five mussel dishes I've ever had, and I've done my research! Pro tip: Don't make the rookie mistake of eating all the bread first. Save some for the end so you can soak up every last drop of that incredible curry broth at the bottom of the bowl. Trust me, you'll thank me later. The service is always excellent. John usually takes care of us in the back, and he consistently makes the experience even better with great recommendations and friendly service. In side is cozy and friendly! If you live in Philly and haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for? Great beer, amazing food, and outstanding service--this place checks every box. Just be warned: one visit and you'll be planning your next trip back before you even leave.

Since the bar seats were full, we had the choice to head all the way to the 2nd rear bar. We took the short journey to the secluded small bar that was also full and took refuge at one of the four tables. We took a look at the "Beer Bible" or their version of a drink menu. The bartender informed us that we could not sit at the table unless we were ordering food. At this point we ended our pub crawl and left defeated scratching our heads. This was far from a classy place without a line out the door during the week which made it even more alarming. Interesting experience as our last taste of Philly.

Big tables in the back and front, high tops in the middle and standard bar seating. Our server was fabulous. Super attentive and was happy to split checks based on what we got and was happy to close people out as they left the larger party. The truffle fries are INCREDIBLE. They are seasoned great and have a unique truffle sauce compared to the oil you typically see. We also grabbed an order of fried oreos that were just as great! On the weekends, this bar turns into a full night-club type space, it's a little too packed for my liking and typically brings in a more college aged group and caters to that crowd. While I don't think I'll be going back on a night-out, I'll certainly be back for happy hour!

The craft beer selection was great and the wooden inlays created a warm atmosphere. This seemed like a great place for a 3rd stop at our organized Philly Beer Crawl until we met HIM. Is it possible that HE just underwent a rare vocal cord injury or some sort of nerve damage to HIS cheeks to hinder a smile? Maybe in a busy bar I could give HIM some leeway, but other than us there were only three other customers. Pulling teeth to have him explain some of the beers on the menu. Finally decided on a 2SP Up & Out Hazy Aston PA 6%, which was very tasty. The gender assigned ultra clean bathroom was the highlight of the day. A rustic distressed wood wrapped mirror with industrial cement flooring and offering two height differential urinals all together creating a modern rustic vibe - hooray well done. Our experience was hindered by only HIM which overshadowed the cold beer. With several other bars within steps, why have a total "dud" working in a hospitality profession? This place had a great name, tasty beer and interesting ambiance and could have easily been a five star review which I dont hand out lightly, but was sadly ruined by HIM and totally avoidable. FYI - 20% auto tip (hate this) added to the bill, so no reason to be unrobotic or pleasant - maybe now I get it!!!

That's probably the only downside. Otherwise, food every time is amazing!. They have a seasonal menu which keeps the options fun. The menu changed after only coming 2 months apart, I was planning on ordering the same dish I had last time but had to switch it up. Wow, the pretzel crusted chicken was so tender and skin was crispy. Vegetables and sauce topped on the chicken was delicious. 10/10 meal. I'm already craving more!! Also their sweet heat calamari with honey, I haven't had any calamari like that before and it was super flavorful and perfect crispiness. Place is right by a lake, though I only went during the winter so we didn't get to personally enjoy the views. The inside of the restaurant though is cozy and good for date night or groups. Looking forward to coming back here!
