I did see they offer some discounts to patrons who come M-Th in the mornings as well! The spa space itself has both co-ed and women's only sections, but we stayed in the women's section exclusively. They have signs up detailing the recommended order # of the treatments, but I think when we come back we would just save our Simply Classic / other similar treatment for last so we could head out and eat afterward. This treatment left me totally relaxed and while the spa itself wasn't gigantically massive, I liked how there weren't that many people since we came on a weekday morning and it felt nice to have the place to ourselves. Tomoko Spa is located on a very busy street, but you forget all that as soon as you step inside. They do a really great job of creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The experience starts with a 15 min foot soak/massage, and that already was divine. The masseuse puts the perfect amount of pressure, and that combined with the warm water, almost put me to sleep, haha. For the body massage part, the masseuse asks you what parts you want focused on and how much pressure you would like. They are also really good at checking in at various parts of the massage to make sure you are completely satisfied. I really appreciated how thorough they are with the massage and also how proactive they are in making sure you are enjoying the experience. At the end of the massage, we were given hand-whisked matcha tea to drink, and they also provided us jelly, a handwritten note, and a rose to celebrate our anniversary :) We had such a lovely experience, and I cannot recommend this place enough, whether to celebrate a special occasion, or just to treat yourself! ** If you book a couple's massage, they provide complimentary parking in the lot next to the spa, otherwise there's paid street parking or parking garages available nearby

It was like a cozy living room with couches, lounge chairs, a fireplace, and refreshment bar with spa water, iced tea, and hot tea. I liked that the form asked questions like how talkative you would like your masseuse to be, if you have any injuries/tender spots, and preferred pressure firmness. My partner had booked us the "Escape Together" package which included a 20-minute copper bath and 60-minute couples massage in the outdoor cabana. The bath was totally relaxing and the jets turning off signaled the end of our 20-minute soak. We returned to the relaxation room where we were greeted by our masseuses Rachel and Lana who guided us to the cabana. We were prompted to choose our preferred essential oil for the aromatherapy concept. Lana provided a very relaxing massage for me and was very sweet. I would have enjoyed firmer pressure but I think it was my fault for circling "Gentle" on the form. I usually go to more budget-friendly Asian spas where their default pressure is usually quite rough. My partner said she enjoyed her massage with Rachel as well. After the massage, they brought us some iced tea and let us know that we were welcome to use the dry sauna and encouraged us to stay hydrated. We spent about 10 minutes in the sauna before ending our time. I greatly enjoyed my time here. The moment you enter you are greeted by the friendly office manager and you meet store owner Eunice. The hospitality is felt immediately. You are issued a locker and towels with a cute pink robe. You cannot wear bathing suits or shoes, but the robe is what you wear and the spa is so clean and smells amazing inside. They have various rooms such as charcoal clay sauna, infrared sauna, steam room, Himalayan salt room, Himalayan salt bath, cold room, oxygen room, mugwort tea bath where you pour the basin of mugwort tea and drench it over your body in a seated shower section. Mugwort tes smells earthy and helps with skin issues. You can do a body scrub to exfoliate your dead skin and your skin will be amazingly soft and dewy. They use a scrubbing mitten and you can request gentler scrubbing versus a new mitt which will be more firm exfoliating scrub. The massage is 1 hour long and extremely relaxing. You can choose green tea or collagen milk for your massage. The collagen milk left my skin so dewy and soft. In the end they wrap your hair into a cute bun atop your head and wrapped in a cute pink towel. The V steam is something new I never heard of before and tried for first time. You are in a private room and sit on a cushion seat with an circular opening and beneath are herbs heated and you wear a cute cloth robe to absorb the steam over your privates hence V stream -- benefits with cramping, hormones, constipation, fertility, etc They offer a biscuit and tea while you stay in treatment x 30 minutes. If it gets too hot you lift the robe upward and it is cooler for your body. There is an area for food that opens at noon. The menu is a variety like Bimbibap or ginseng chicken soup and more. I will definitely come back to try this eating area. Every room is meticulously designed, clean and relaxing. I felt pampered here and can't wait to return. They do not allow photos otherwise you just have to visit here and experience it for yourself.

I wasn't asked whether the water temperature was comfortable, and the pressure felt unnecessarily aggressive rather than relaxing. I left feeling more sore than refreshed, which isn't what I expect from a spa treatment. This was also the second month in a row that I was assigned to the same body scrub attendant, even though I've never had her before and had always been treated by someone else in the usual wet room. It struck me as unusual, especially since I had previously noticed her speaking very harshly to other staff members. I'm sharing this feedback in the hope that it's taken constructively. I truly enjoy this spa overall, but I hope more attention is given to making every guest feel comfortable, respected, and cared for during their treatment.

I regret not reading the reviews before booking the special I saw on Instagram for a facial originally priced at $249, offered for $59.95. While the staff was pleasant, the services did not match the description or expectations set. Instead of leaving feeling calm and refreshed, as I usually do after a facial, I felt exhausted and frustrated. The treatment potion lasted only 50 minutes and lacked the crucial steps of steam and extractions, which is a significant part of any facial. After the facial portion , I was directed to a consultant who, while friendly, launched into a sales presentation that lasted over an an hour. The recommended products totaled $7,000, and when I hesitated, the price was quickly slashed with pressure to make a decision on the spot. I would have appreciated greater transparency in your advertising. Had I received honest information upfront, I could have used the two and a half hours of my time on a more enjoyable and beneficial experience. read more

Carla was the perfect reintroduction to luxurious self care and my skin really needed a boost! I've felt like facial massage has become a lost art lately, and often times estheticians are so focused on gadgets/tools/lights/etc that the soothing benefits of manual facial massage have fallen by the wayside. I was so so pleased when Carla give me a wonderful face/neck/shoulder massage while under the LightStim. It felt wonderful and it gave the impression that she cared about her clients relaxation in addition to results. So when it was time for the mask, I hoped she would continue that level of warmth and she did. She did a hand/arm massage while I masked, and that was so nice too. I've had so many technicians either do their dishes during that time or leave the room completely and I appreciated her care for the full treatment. Her products were all great quality, facility was clean, I was offered water and never felt rushed. It genuinely feels like Carla cares for her clients, and sadly I think that's not always the case (especially in LA). I left feeling relaxed and refreshed and had a healthy glow. Thanks Carla! It's tucked away off the street a little so it was very nice and quiet inside Lulur Spa! Only negative is parking can be a little tricky in the area, it's right on the busy part of Robertson (but near a bunch of the Vanderpump Rules landmarks if you're a fan!) so give yourself extra time for parking.

Went in originally because I was suffering from hormonal/cystic breakouts due to PCOS. Never had acne my entire life, then this hit me in my late 20's. Part of my plan to fix the problem included regular deep cleaning facials (along with better diet/exercise/supplements/etc) During the first year, Carla noticeably decreased cystic breakouts overall, along with the scarring marks I had along my jawline/cheeks (caused by those breakouts). She put me on a new facial regime using iS Clinical products - which I continue to adhere to religiously to this day. Basically, she helped my skin recover from a traumatic 2 years of hormonal acne. Today, I RARELY breakout. I can't even remember the last cystic blemish I've had - it's that seldom. That said, I still see Carla monthly to maintain my glow and give my face a nice deep clean :) Carla is amazing at what she does. And I'm positive that since I'm a regular, she gives me a bunch of little extra freebies every time I see her for my monthly facial service. They have always had the latest and (most important to me) impeccably clean sunbeds. The newest beds are spectacular and look like they are from a spaceship; some are by Porsche Design, have Bluetooth, advanced air cooling and multi-lamp systems. It seemed so futuristic back then and they still operate all the most cutting edge tanning equipment. Uvasun was always a little more expensive than the other local tanning salons. I see on their website that they now offer to price-match salons within a 5-mile radius on comparable services except spray tans. In addition to state-of-the-art tanning beds and sunless spray tans they also have light therapy, infrared sauna therapy and body contouring with red and infrared light. It's still located in the same nice and modern building on 3rd street. Their hours are Monday to Friday 10am-8pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm.
