I can't speak more highly of Dr. Kramer. Finding a good dentist who prioritizes patient health seems rare (check out the documentary Root Cause). But Dr. Kramer seems ethical and knowledgeable. He got on the phone to speak with my oral surgeon to make sure the procedure was necessary. His office is clean, his prices are good, his hygienists are educated. I left the city for a little bit and the second I moved back, I was happy to return to Dr. Kramer. Highly recommend! read more

He was not just a technician but a master musician and his instruments were the tools of dentistry. (A it turns out, he was also a concert violinist. I am happy to say that Dr. Kramer's office has resolved this issue and now everybody who's working there has received the appropriate vaccines. Even after filling cavities, I experienced no pain (which is incredibly rare for someone to say!). Dr. Kramer and his staff were most impressive. He took the time to discuss my dental issues in detail, answered all questions and taught me specific things about my teeth and jaw. Ari is the first dentist that I have ever used besides the family dentist I grew up with. I was extremely apprehensive about using a new dentist, but we all have to grow up some time and it was about time for me to stop trekking back home to my parents' twice a year to get my teeth cleaned. I felt at ease immediately walking into his office. His staff was friendly, warm and extremely helpful. Ari is someone who truly loves what he does and it shows in his demeanor. He took the time to thoroughly check my teeth as well as the areas around my neck and jaw. I felt his approach to be very holistic in that he really encouraged me to look at the big picture. Not only did he take the time to tell me about each part of his exam but he also showed me how to floss my teeth properly. I know that sounds crazy but until now, no one has ever shown me this method and my teeth and gums are SO much healthier because of it. He also gave me this special flossing toothbrush which is by far the best I have ever used. I am anal retentive about toothbrushes and this is the cadillac. His office is extremely clean, has a beautiful view and is very accessible by train. I will be a patient of his for a very, very long time. read more

Thanks for saving my tooth! I had been putting off a visit to the dentist for a long time. I had an embarrassingly large cavity in one of my molars. I used to hate visiting the dentist and was bribed with ice cream until age 16 just to get me through the door. Ari Kramer has cleaned and treated my family's teeth twice. We will never see another dentist again if we can avoid it. From the moment Ari walked in the room, his warm and gentle demeanor was apparent. Ari was encouraging in pointing out specific areas in which my dental health had improved. He was thorough and neat with his work, as well as crystal clear in answering any questions we had, handing me a mirror on multiple occasions to watch him demonstrate proper personal care on my teeth. Procedures that had left my mouth and gums sensitive for a full day following other dentists' work left me comfortable less than 30 minutes after leaving Dr. Kramer's office. After my regular dentist and an endodontist both had treated my abscessed tooth over several visits, I found all their information very confusing and worrying. I needed someone to sort out what was happening to my poor mouth and take the time to explain it to me. So I came to Dr. Kramer for an unbiased second opinion, and Ari Kramer set my mind at ease, was very supportive, patient, an excellent explainer and listener. Thanks to Ari Kramer I came away with clear guidelines for what to consider when having any further work done on the problem tooth. He and his assistant both had a very gentle touch. They never made a bumpy or rushed move to place the the x-ray film, or tap on a tooth, everything was done with great care. Oh, and he didn't see any reason why the endodontist was trying to convince me I needed two additional root canals done! That day, he saved me from confusion and over-treatment. Dr. Kramer is the best dentist i have ever had. First, I am afraid of needles, but with him a pleasure, never saw it coming and such gentle hands. Second, He is a charming and cheery person and you feel at ease to ask him anything. Third, he is very thorough and will not undertake any procedure without you being fully informed (as a lay person) and can make the best decision possible. He is also very conservative in his approach to procedures and will not advocate for any unnecessary procedure. Fourth, he doesn't rush from one patient to the next, and makes you feel like there are no other patients for him to see. You have his undivided attention. Last, his receptionist is also wonderful and very pleasant to talk to if you ever have to sit in the waiting area. He is simply a great dentist and there is nothing i can say that he lacks. Dr. Kramer is a genius. Incredible talent, gentleness, integrity, empathy, clarity, sense of humor, patience, and prescience. Dr. Kramer's skill is such that, as I brace for historically-painful procedures to begin, he informs me that he's already finished. I have repeatedly asked him to be my doctor for everything in my body from head to toe to mind, but he insists on being only my dentist, I imagine for reasons of paperwork. Regarding insurance: With almost all other medical issues I am insistent on staying within my coverage, but, when it come to the health of my teeth and mouth, as I have been advised by every person and doctor I trust, I only go to the best I know, whether or not they take insurance, because, if dental issues are not handled properly, the results will be extremely painful and expensive and difficult to repair for a long, long time. So, whether Dr. Kramer is or isn't on the various dental plans I've had over the years, I always see him anyway. Recently, I was traveling in Europe and was experiencing tooth pain -- I could have seen any number of potentially excellent dentists there and been covered, but I preferred to wait a couple of weeks until I got back to NYC to see Dr. K, to make sure everything was taken care of properly. Dr. Kramer's staff is also amazing and friendly and patient and kind, and his equipment is all up to date, as opposed to my old dentists who would use equipment that, while I'm sure was satisfactory, always looked like it had been made by Nikola Tesla himself and was shipped from Serbia without sufficient padding. Dr. Ari Kramer's warmth and consideration was well beyond what I expected. He returned my calls himself, he listened compassionately to my situation and worked with me as an individual so that I could have the best care. For my first visit, I couldn't get child care and had to bring my 6 month old son. He welcomed him and made me feel at ease. His receptionist scooped him up and they all took turns holding and playing with my baby. I was amazed at how lovely and kind everyone was with him and how understanding they were with me! I got one filling (so far) and Dr. Kramer was quick and comprehensive. He took extra measures to make me comfortable and explain what he saw and how we wanted to proceed. I've always hated dentist visits until I met Dr Kramer. Now it's a very different story, I walk into the dentist with the classical music in the background and it's such a relaxed environment.
