Five years ago I underwent was what was initially promised to be a relatively simple and…read moreunremarkable procedure - a bone graft followed by a single implant. The oral surgeon in charge (*NOT Dr Kissel) was twice unsuccessful and the implant didn't take. Fortunately an acquaintance of my wife directed me to Dr Kissel with whom she'd had a stellar experience after a car crash demolished her teeth. Dr Kissel assured me he'd be able to repair the bone and install and implant. He then discerned the reason the previous grafts failed: the adjacent tooth was also infected and would have to be extracted. How this escaped the notice of the oral surgeon that preceded him simply boggles the imagination. I'll spare you the saga that unfolded over the next three years. Suffice it to say that Dr Kissel went to nothing short of heroic lengths to repair my teeth and the considerable scarring of my gums from the aforementioned previous surgeries. This should not be considered hyperbolic, either - at one point he met me in his office at the very height of the pandemic to treat an infection. He was in full hazmat gear and the office was unstaffed and officially closed, but he came in to the city from his home on short notice. Despite the inconvenience and anxiety that leaving home during the most worrying peak of pandemic lockdown engendered, Dr Kissel was caring, professional and cool. He put me at ease during what was a very stressful procedure. I could go on for much longer than anyone would care to read as my road to reconstruction was so long and my admiration for Dr Kissel and his staff is so great. I'll simply say that cannot imagine a more qualified, caring, professional periodontist. HIGHLY recommended.

While gum tunneling is considered "minimally invasive," I don't think it should ever be taken lightly when it comes to WHO performs it. This is one of those procedures where experience, precision, and artistry matter tremendously, and this woman IS a surgical artist. I was pretty nervous the week leading up to surgery, having built this procedure up in my head as a huge and painful event. Instead, the entire experience felt like relaxing girl talk while the Queen of Dentistry worked her magic. Before I knew it, I was done. The craziest part? I walked out smiling, feeling amazing, and you genuinely couldn't even tell I had just undergone periodontal surgery. Yes...really. The recovery pain was surprisingly minimal considering what I had done. The realization of no longer having gums that felt like frickin' tissue paper and finally correcting my bizarre gingival defect has been eye-opening. You don't realize what your mouth has been missing until it's finally healthy again! The difference has TRULY been life-changing and I feel like my mommy makeover has been completed with exceptional results. My only complaint? The stitches weren't available in neon pink or glitter (tee hee, just kidding!) There is simply no one else I would ever entrust with this type of periodontal work and if you're considering advanced periodontal treatment, you owe it to yourself to be treated by THE VERY BEST. :::Bend the knee::: :D

I typically don't write reviews--good or bad--but I feel incredibly dissatisfied and disappointed…read morewith my experience at Dr. Vasserman's office. I was recommended to this office by someone I truly trust, as I am not originally from NYC. The office itself is nice, and Corrie is typically friendly. For a basic teeth cleaning, this place is fine. However, if you need any significant dental work, I strongly urge you to reconsider. In 2022, my teeth had shifted due to Invisalign, and I wanted to have my front tooth (tooth #8), which had a crown from a childhood injury, redone so that it aligned properly. I initially considered finding a specialist but decided to go with Dr. Vasserman--something I deeply regret. Trust your intuition--if something feels off, it probably is. When I discussed my needs with Dr. Vasserman in April 2022, he assured me it would take only a few weeks. However, after many emails and back-and-forth conversations, I was informed that it would actually take eight weeks just for the lab in Chicago to begin my case. This was a complete contradiction to what I was initially told. When the crown finally arrived months later, I was shocked. This was supposed to be from the best of the best lab, yet the tooth looked nothing like the rest of my teeth. I don't understand why he didn't use a lab in NYC where I could have been directly involved in the process. It became increasingly clear that he didn't know what he was doing when it came to cosmetic dental work. After much back-and-forth, and clear frustration from Dr. Vasserman, we eventually landed on a tooth that was "acceptable"--but by this point, it was July. Between April and July, my temporary tooth fell out multiple times, I had to go back and forth to the office countless times, and I constantly questioned my decision to have him do the work. The worst part? Any time I called for an update or to get help, it often felt like the office was avoiding me. Calls would go unanswered, and I would have to follow up multiple times just to get basic information. The lack of communication and accountability was infuriating. Fast forward to November 2024--I started experiencing severe pain and discomfort in my front tooth. The pain was unbearable, keeping me up at night and even giving me headaches. I switched dentists due to my previous experience and didn't feel comfortable returning to Dr. Vasserman. Well, turns out my instincts were right--I now have a serious infection in the tooth. The crown wasn't even cemented properly, leaving it loose and unstable. The infection has become so severe that my tooth is now unsalvageable. I have to undergo major surgery, including tooth extraction and bone grafting, because the infection has eroded my bone. Here's the most frustrating part: I have had this tooth redone three times in my life, and never--not once--have I had an issue like this until this last procedure. The fact that I trusted a dentist who clearly lacked the skill and experience for this type of work is devastating. The moral of the story? If something feels off, trust yourself. Go to a specialist. If I had listened to my gut, I wouldn't be dealing with this nightmare now. If you only need a cleaning, this place is fine. But for any serious dental work, I cannot recommend this office and would strongly advise against going here.

He did beautiful dental and cosmetic work, but also seemed genuinely interested in my feedback throughout the process, to ensure I felt not just good but great about the final product. He was meticulous about color matching to make sure everything looked natural but improved, which was a pain point for other dentists. He also provided a number of cost options and helped me evaluate the best option based on what was important to me. Dr. Tetri managed to do all this while exuding patience and completing my appointments quickly. For me going to the dentist is a bit different than most people. I had a traumatic experience 4 years ago that has not just affected my life but my ability to bring myself to a dentist. So recently a crown broke and I had to find a dentist.... a really good one.... I did my homework and came up with a few in NYC... By fate or luck I ended up in Dr. Tetri chair. He is really really good at what he does...but for me it was refreshing to not be forced or pushed to do more than what was needed.... I mean if you want the works there probably is no better place to get it I have studied the photos he is the best in town...... and someday I may want that but for now I just want a dentist that is great at what he does and loves what he does, a trustworthy Dr. So far that is what I have found... I have much more work to be done but I have found a place where the staff is knowledgeable and pleasant. I could go on and on, BUT if you're looking for dental or cosmetic work, I would absolutely recommend Dr. Tetri. His staff is also really friendly & helpful when it comes to understanding upfront costs/insurance/payment options. Can't thank them enough.

Two of my wisdom teeth came in right after I had my first child and were impacted. One was close to the nerve, so regular dentists did not want to touch it. Exactly one week ago, Dr. Calat numbed the area completely, and it took him about 5 min to pull out both teeth. He was quick, precise, and thorough. Before I knew it, he was cleaning the area and suturing the extraction sites. He did say that it didn't always happen so easily, and it could take up to 2 hours in some cases.
