I had an emergency with one of my cats chocking and having a breathing problem. I called them and they took me with cat even before they opened. Thoroughly checked my cat and discovered inflammation in his throat and windpipe. He got antibiotics and a calming shot to keep him from stressing. He needed additional oral medication. He recovered within about 3 days. The cost was economical for my budget. Definitely recommend there expertise. They were very caring with my cat. read more

I have to agree that this vet office has drastically gone down hill. I think most previous 5 star reviews were before Dr. Bitters retired. I had the pleasure of having him a few times after I moved to Argyle. He even did an emergency surgery on my cat 3 days after we moved into our house. He was AMAZING!! I felt blessed to have a vets office right across the street. It was sad to hear he retired. Now.... All you get are carefree front office staff. I 100% agree with the review that they never answer the phone. I too have been there multiple times as the phone is ringing off the hook. Everyone seems to hear it but the staff. They never answer and ask you to hold on. It just rings and rings until the client hangs up. They never look up or say hi when you walk in etc... the office is old and run down in my opinion. Needs major updating! The worst service I have received though was when my 17 yr old multi-poo passed away. We took her there as she was dying. Spent some time with her in a private room. The staff that day was excellent!!! Very caring and compassionate during our time of need. The problem came in when we had her cremated. Weeks went by (7) and I finally called to get the status of her. I would have called sooner but my dad passed away 4 weeks prior and I was living in a sad daze. The girl put me on hold for over 10 mins. I called back telling her to call me when she had any information as I knew there would need to be research done at this point. They called the next day to say they were waiting on me to pick out the urn. I'm like what???? Don't you DARE put your careless mistakes on me! You have my order and it's been paid for. I asked where she was and they said she's still in our freezer!!! For 7 weeks they forgot her and then blamed it on the owner!!! Just awful I can only hope they turn this vet office around. Good - the doctors. They are great and have always helped me and my animals - both large and small. BAD - the front desk. They rarely answer the phone. I have been IN the lobby and listened to the phone ringing and they don't even react. I have literally called for an hour straight during regular hours and they don't answer or have a message center. Most of the front office staff doesn't look up from their computer when a client enters OR when speaking to a client. Very disconnected and weird. I actually DREAD calling that place because I have to deal with bad customer service and attitude. It's a shame because the owner and his team treating the animals are great. But the front always makes the first impression. read more

Yesterday was a tough day, we knew it was time for our 14 year old Springer girl to leave us. Called up and made an appointment for 2:30. Didn't have a Vet preference, just whoever was available. When we got there, a nice note was on the prepared exam door. A blanket was placed on the floor (we moved to the exam table) and Dr Diaz came in to explain what was going to happen. She could not have been better with how she handled this heartbreaking event...this isn't our first time, far from it but she was the best I've encountered. So caring and compassionate. Service here has been consistently excellent and compassionate! Moved to Argyle a couple years ago and got a new pup in the Spring. While she was at training, she got sick and I needed to urgently find a local vet to help. Despite being very busy, they were able to work her in for an appointment in just 90 minutes - just enough time for me to pick her up and get her here. Dr. Royse great to work with and he was able to quickly rule out some serious concerns with bloodwork. We left with some meds and my pup was feeling better within a couple days. We've been in several times since - mostly for well care - and the whole staff here has been terrific. I'm pleased to have found my new vet clinic in Argyle! read more

Our dog has seizures and has been on Phenobarbital for three years now and all of a sudden the vet is denying his refill prescription. He is out of the medicine and now at risk for further seizures. How can this be? How can a vet refuse the dog seizure medicine when it is clearly in his records. We have been trying to call them for three days and are not getting anywhere. This is ridiculous. If our dog has a seizure due to the medicine delay they will have a huge issue on their hands. read more

This place does not even deserve a one star rating ! It's making me in order to post this review. People really need to know what is going on at Argyle Veterinary. They are the most un compassionate uncaring inhumane place I've ever experienced! We arranged for our sweet dog Walnut to have an autopsy done with Dr Royce before Walnut cremation .Fond memories from McKinney was kind enough to take Walnut over for me so I wouldn't have to bring him over in a cooler full of ice . So very kind of them . I left several messages emailed with Argyle Veterinary to see if Walnut was delivered and nothing .Finally Britney from the front desk told me Dr Royce was on vacation but she had no idea that our sweet dog had been delivered? What ! No idea what was going on. Hugh ? Told me she was going to call me back with an update . Never did No one did ! I then called over to Fond memories and they reassured me that Walnut was delivered at Argyle Veterinary hospital for his autopsy. Waited and waited for Dr Royce his return and a response . Checked my voicemail emails and still nothing . No autopsy report . I got a call from our amazing Veterinary Highland Pointe in Flowermound that Walnut urn was ready to be picked up. His cremation was done. It's been 6 weeks and not one word from Argyle Veterinary or Dr Royce! We just wanted some answers of why Walnut passed. So our family could have some peace while we still mourn Walnuts passing :( I will go in person soon to show them a picture of Walnut along with his urn and paw print .So they can see he was so special he was to us .We loved Walnut dearly ! His remains were treated poorly and unjust . They cannot do this again to people or our precious family member animals. Just unbelievable! I've dabbled back and forth leaving this but given some reviews I've seen looks like I'm not the only one who has had issues. Unfortunately I only come to this vet out of convenience, not because they're good. I feel like this vet is more concerned about pushing as many animals out so they can go about their day. It's hard even building a relationship with a vet because they rotate! The front desk is NOT personable and NOT helpful. I brought my dog in for grooming with Juan (who is the only good employee there or contracted employee- but he is nice) and one of the front desk girls handed my fur baby back to me as if he was a rag doll, with his harness on incorrectly, his leash hooked on incorrectly and his collar hanging from one of the leash hooks.. and because of that he slipped out! Not once but twice! And the front desk girl just stood there and didn't even offer to help! They're more concerned about getting their sonic lunch handed to them at the front desk (inappropriate and unsanitary) than providing good customer service. I dealt with the manager Brittany Diaz and though she got the brunt of my frustration she was still apologetic, somewhat patient and refunded me my grooming fee after telling her how upset I was. Even that was a battle - But for me the damage has been done- you DON'T mess with my fur babies especially one who has a metal rod in his leg. This vet is SUPER chaotic and if you're looking for chaos.. than this is the is the perfect vet for you...if you're not looking for chaos... than I highly suggest do not come here. The service is awful. I will echo one review "they nickel and dime you" and really do not care and it's on to the next. Please do your research and find a reputable vet... they're not even family owned anymore and own by corporate in CT. Which is a bummer... I find that family owned businesses are more customer service oriented and caring. I pulled both of my Fur babies from this vet today. I Will NEVER come back here again. I only gave a 2nd star because I got a refund. read more

This is a very busy practice. Despite the overwhelming need in our area, they are always so patient and wonderful. Years ago, our small dog was attacked. Dr Royse let us bring him in when we were not established patients. He saved our dog in surgery that day and we had many more years with Benji. They helped us diagnose Cushing's disease and care for him through the end of his life. It's overwhelming to think of their kindness, attunement, care, and skill. They have always made room for us, and we are so grateful. This review is just one small way we can say thank you. They are the unsung heroes of Argyle, Texas. Very friendly front desk staff but we've had 2 separate issues with the vets. We went in on 2 different occasions to find out how many puppies we would have. We were told 6 possibly 7 but no more than 7....our dog delivered 8...not a huge issue but was frustrating to pay to get an answer that was wrong. The other MAJOR issue was after we brought the puppies in today to get their tails docked and dew claws removed we were asked how long we wanted the tails. We mentioned they should go past the genitals. They cut off 50% more than they should have. When we asked to talk to the doctor that did it, he came out and could not have cared less about our concern. NEVER bring your new born pups here read more

I have just been so beyond impressed with this vet. We are a recently retired military family so have lived in a few states and seen our fair share of vets and let me tell you- this place is in the top for sure, if not at the very top. We have 2 dogs but only 1 has been seen so far- but she has needed to come in 3 times already so I feel like I can make a very fair judgement. Miss Meiko is a little rescue pitty mix. She has a tremendous skin allergy problem that we've been battling for probably 5 years now, and is a little spitfire ball of sweet energy. First things first- she is pretty vocal and REALLY wants to play with other dogs. So she likes to tell us how she feels about that. I don't like to get other dogs all excited with her glorious singing, so they have let me come in through the back or go right into a room which is appreciated. RIGHT when we moved here her skin allergies got really bad again, and we ran out of her medication. The vet was quick to get us in and gave us a refill with little headache. They of course needed to evaluate her since she was never seen before and within 5 minutes identified what type of infection she had this time. We were told to keep her on the antibiotics for a month but after a recheck would likely keep it going for another 3. First of all- we loved our actual veterinarian at our last vet, but the location itself got REALLY money hungry and was $$$$$$$$. That said, our last vet would have made us do a butt ton of tests, costing nearly a thousand dollars (despite that she went there for a few years with repeat issues), and would have been 2-3 weeks of antibiotics and she would have been back a few months later. No wonder her problems have kept coming back- longer time on the meds has truly been the ticket. Everything has been spot on so far with that. Meiko's skin looks better than it has in years and we've only been here a couple months. Most recently we came in because she developed a limp and wanted to make sure she was ok. My head about spun off when they told me they thought she had an ACL tear- didn't even realize dogs could tear those! I was expecting to be there for hours, possibly leave her overnight and pay thousands. Not even close on any of it. I was beyond impressed with the experience and what I was charged. They even cut her nails for me while she was sedated since she's a bit weird about her feet/nails being cut and removed a strange skin tag she had growing between her toes. We have a reasonable treatment plan since it was a partial tear so no surgery needed right now. Oh, and they found she had pretty bad dysplasia in the hip on her opposite leg! She has always sat with one leg kicked out but we figured it was because she's just a quirky dog. 7 year old dog and not one vet identified or told us she was born with this. Fortunately nothing degenerative and they have her on a preventative lubricant now since she's not the spring chicken she thinks she is. I now feel very informed on what to keep an eye out for just in case. Super impressed. Love the staff. Meiko loves the staff. Very glad to have this as our new vet. read more

In one word "excellent!" The first time I took Elmo Dr Gray diagnosed Elmo with heart issues and with one X-ray there it was an enlarged heart which another vet from another clinic did not catch. Dr Gray also found a mass in his mouth. If it was not for this Gray, Elmo would have suffered and may not be alive today. Dr Gray is kind, compassionate, and will spend as much time as you need to discuss your dogs diagnosis and needs. In fact, everyone there is just awesome. I cannot say enough about them. read more

This "vet clinic" is nothing short of unmet expectations. The photo you're seeing below is what the "vet" did my dog Titus. He had sliced the bottom of his paw pad, a place where you cannot put stitches on a dog so they wrapped it. The vet wrapped it so dang tight that his toe nail dug into him foot and created an entire different wound!!! 2 bandaged came off from him just laying down- surprise! The 3rd did not fall off because i was a little upset that the $70 bandage that i payed for both times kept falling off so i had the HEAD VET wrap it. I was told it would be healed and i should take it off in one week which was yesterday. I took it off with Titus whimpering the whole time- only to find an entirely different wound that i now have to take care of just when the other one is about healed. I'm just so upset. My other large dog, Bentley, had stitches by them which busted open and he had internal bleeding and had to have drainage for their mistake because they did not weight him properly? Seems like a simple task to me but okay... Bentley also cut himself on his side which resulted in needed stitches, so we went up there hoping for better treatment only to leave there with them F O G E T T I N G to put STITCHES in my dog and then not realizing that they didn't give him any. We left with a hole the size of a golfball WITHOUT stitches because they didn't bother to check what we were worried about on the way out the door. I called up there 4 times to make sure he was not supposed to have stitches and i sent them a picture of the hole that was left(it was still healing so by this time it was the size of a quarter but still needed 4 stitches) and they freaked out over the picture and put stitches in him IMMEDIATELY free of charge for their mistake. Too many failed tries for a vet hospital for me. thanks. y'all suck and need new workers bad. staff at the front isn't friendly either and they're all fake with fake smiles. read more

We had taken our new 3-1/2 year old female rescue there twice. The first time for blood work and spaying, the second time for a required shot. On a Friday she started vomiting and had very loose stools. When she didn't improve by Saturday morning we called at 8:24 Saturday morning to bring her in. The Argyle Veterinary Hospital is open on Saturday until 4:00 and we were told they were booked and we would have to take her to the emergency vet in Denton or Southlake. I'm 71 years old and have had dogs the 47 years my wife and I have been married and that's the first time am open vet has sent us to an emergency vet. In Denton she was given a shot for the vomiting which helped. She was given a pill for the stomach and $790.00 later we headed home. The pill didn't help the stool issues and on Monday we called our daughte's vet and Euless and we're told to bring her in. We were told to stop the pill from the emergency vet and given a different medication which solved her problem. We live in Argyle but will be making the trip to Euless from now on. read more

Dr. Royce is fabulous! Our puppy, Rip. was injured his tail was amputated. Rip had an extremely difficult recovery. Dr. Royce and his entire staff took care of Rip for weeks on end. They allowed Rip to check in each morning so that I could work without worry and kept him at the clinic for more than 2 weeks to insure he healed. I would not take my animals to anyone else. Awesome! Awesome! Great doctors, wonderful friendly staff, beautiful clean clinic, and state of the art medical equipment and facilities. These doctors really love what they do and it shows. They don't hesitate to go the extra mile for their patients and clients. If I could I would give the clinic 4.5 stars. Since they don't have half points, I rounded up. The only complaint I have is they are a little pricey compared to other clinics in the area Obviously I feel that the cost is worth it for my beloved pet, but if I could change only one thing about the clinic it would be to be more affordable. But, can you really put a price on your pet's care? You can rest assured your pet is in good hands with any of the docs here. They treat both small and large animal patients, with most of their patients being horses, dogs, and cats. Also they have a top notch equine surgical hospital that is very new and well equipt with modern, clean, and nice surgery suite, recovery room, exam area, and several stalls for overnight guests with 24/7 video monitoring of all horses. We moved to Lantana prior to the pandemic and needed a Vet. We have an 11 year old Golden Retriever and we love him to pieces. Finding the right Vet was extremely important to us. We researched and asked around and really liked what we read and saw on their website regarding all of the services that they offered and their approach. Everybody that we have met is awesome and so kind and understanding even to this over the top, neurotic, dog mom. Maddie especially made me feel comfortable during our first phone conversation.
