This is a bigger than average branch of Argos. As well as keeping the full product range in stock whenever possible, they also offer the Collect Plus service. This is ideal if you want to order something online (even if it's not from Argos) but you just know you won't be home when the postman shows up. eBay and a few other online retailers offer Collect Plus as an option.
They have the standard Argos set up. Hard and digital copies of catalogues are available to browse. When you've found what you want you can check whether it's in stock with the stock-checker gadgets positioned by the catalogues. Pay at a self service machine or at a check out, and take a seat while they go get it for you from the warehouse. In my experience this branch over-estimates your wait time.
A few items are available to buy without going through this system, such as jewellery items and anything that's on clearance and, as always, catalogues are available to take home for free... does anyone still do that?
Anyway, it's a nice enough, clean store. The staff are friendly and the wait times aren't long. They have free WiFi available for customers too, in case you're hanging around for longer than expected. read more
