A corner location and large windows make Arepo a great place for people-watching. It's only a block away from the hustle and bustle of Avenida 9 de Julio. Grab a table by the window if you can.
As you walk in, you can check out which pastries, cakes, tartas and empanadas they have available that day. If your Spanish is limited, like mine, you can point to the item you want and the staff will put it in the oven for you. You can then enjoy a coffee drink while you wait for your food and watch the world go by.
I ordered a tarta (a kind of savory pie) with cheese and spinach, accompanied by a cafe con leche. Fresh out of the oven, the tarta crust was flaky and not soggy at all. It was chock full of fresh spinach and delicious cheese. The coffee was very good as well. I thought the regular menu prices were very reasonable, but if you're on a budget, get there before 11am for the breakfast specials.
Arepo also has a small bar, with beer and wine, as well as a dinner menu on the blackboard. I will update my review if I decide to stop back here. read more
