Arepa with chorizo, cheese, and black beans / arepita con chorizo, queso, y frijol
Sarah H.

This place hits the spot! I was craving hearty food, and so I headed to the food truck street that's lively almost the entire week. I ordered an arepa with chorizo, cheese, and black beans. The last time I came, I ordered it with plantains, which I would definitely recommend too. The food is delicious and the ingredients are really high quality!

We were out looking for something to eat and came upon this food truck in Santa Ana near Main St. It had lots of people out front so we thought it must be good. And it WAS. We tried 2 different dishes a Pepito and a Parrillera and they both were "Slap your Momma" good. They Pepito was a Venezuelan sandwich with carne asada, grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, corn and dressing. It was lip smacking good. We split the sandwich as it was really big and it actually could fill you up just eating half the sandwich. The Parrillera was steak, chicken, chorizo, and cheese melted together inside an Arepa. The Arepa was soft and chewy and even better because the way to cook it you have the gooey cheese in every bite. We will be back to eat here again for sure. They take cash or Zelle so be ready

Really good arepas and tequeños, I moved to California from Texas and couldn't find any Venezuelan places so this was a great surprise. Wait time wasn't bad at all and the quality of the food was great. The tequeños were my favorite, I'll for sure be back.

Where to get authentic Venezuelan street food in OC!! Arepas Street Eat, a hidden gem of a food truck at the corner of Warner & Birch in Santa Ana. Here's what you should try: - Reina Pepiada arepa (chicken & avocado) - my top pick. Creamy, light, and super satisfying without the guilt. The crispy outside + soft inside? Chef's kiss. - Malandra arepa - the signature arepa loaded with crispy pork belly, as well as chicken and avocado. Best of both worlds if you want something punchy. - For street food, choose from a Venezuelan hot dog or Pepitos - good value, huge portions, and pairs with with a maltín. Arepas street eat 2335 S Birch St, Santa Ana, CA Open daily at 5PM, closed Mondays Pull up hungry, cuz this is comfort food that hits every time. ‍

Pleasantly good. First time trying an arepa. I ordered one of their specials that had plantain inside. Meat was nice and juicy. My only complaint is that there are so many different sauces I don't know how to pair it with my arepa. Other than that, I'd come here again

Me looking quite dorky behind 2 maltas, one Malandra, one parrillera, and a pepito we had absolutely no room for.

It felt like coming home! The atmosphere was welcoming. Their customer service is excellent! I felt like I was being received by family for a home cooked meal. And the food was exactly all I remember it to be. My husband loved it. Being a refugee I haven't been home to my country since 1998, and as much as I wish I could share my childhood home and culture with my husband and kids, I have never been able to. This was a small but meaningful way to show my hubs what it would feel like for me to visit one more time.

The best arepas! Absolutely recommend. Malandra is one of our favorites, but literally everything you order from them is delicious.

The food itself is very much worth it, the Arepa is as beautifully cooked nice and crispy on the outside and the flavors were nicely balanced. The garlic and picante sauce paired perfectly. Nothing was over powering or underwhelming. I would def come back here again! Thank you for a delicious meal!

Lucky me to be the first in line. What a beautiful restaurant with all the bright colorful decor! Cool atmosphere plus good lighting with several tables/chairs plus limited bar stool seating. There appears to be a hammock, too. Not sure if it can be used or it's just decor. One all gender restroom is discreetly in the back of the restaurant. Really great place!! The gentleman from the kitchen came out to greet me and asked what I would like. The lady behind the counter took over to take the remaining of my order. They both recommended the Reyna Arepa that is filled with shredded chicken, avocado, mayonnaise, and lime juice. An arepa is a griddlecake made of ground maize dough. It looks like a pocket to me. Anyway, that's what I got. OMG, it was so delicious! Tons of shredded chicken at every bite. Very well balanced between chicken, avocado, and mayo. Arepa was crispy and delightfully. SO GOOD! Highly recommend it. I also got the passion fruit juice that was delightfully refreshing... not too sweet... just perfect! Super nice and friendly staff. Amazing service. Tasty foods in great portions. Welcoming and warm ambiance. I'll definitely return to get more Renya Arepa and try other food items. If you're craving Venezuelan foods or trying it for the first time, this place is for you!
