Arcos crane dropped a $4,563 heat/cool pump for a swimming pool we were installing this unit at. The driver quickly packed up and drove off. the driver said, "my boss will call in five minutes". We found the owners phone number from some investigation. He said we would get the money for our heat pump. He referred us to his insurance company who said they were not liable for anything arcos crane drops. they should have riggers liability insurance. The owner never came to see what happened. Arcos crane used one strap. The operator was asked if one strap was adequate for the lift. His answer was yes. The company I was installing for had to purchase a second heat pump that another crane company lifted with two straps successfully. To satisfy our customer.
