They have a synthetic oil change (up to 8 quarts) and car wash special displayed clearly on the windows for $84.95. The guy told me he can't do the oil change today (Sat) so come back another day. I asked would Monday be better. Yes. I still needed a car wash today and paid $29.95 for the most basic wash. I asked if that would be applied to the special if I came back on Monday do the oil change. He said NO. I would have to pay $99 for the oil change on Monday. What a rip off. No service at all. Who is the owner? Will go someplace else. Don't recommend unless you like bad service. read more

This place is a difficult choice. On one hand, the people who work so hard in the car wash are nice, as well as the mechanics inside the garage. On the other hand, the first face you see when trying to make a transaction is a woman by the name of Carmen. Carmen, the cashier, is the absolute rudest customer service person anyone could come across, unless you are law enforcement. First of all Ralph's Fresh Fare on Hawthorne Boulevard and Crest Road has for a long time and many years provided customers a coupon (on the back of their receipts) for a car wash from this specific business. The coupon states car wash is $21.95. Upon attempting to pay for the car wash with the coupon presented to Carmen the cashier, she currently replied it's only two dollars off. So instead of paying $21.95 for the car wash as a coupon states, it is $24.95. Yes it's only three dollars and I of course paid for it. I asked her why she didn't honor the coupon and she said "it's only two dollars off." Carmen, the cashier, huffed and rolled her eyes and started to show me receipts of the coupon and other written receipts with two dollars off only. Then she proceeds to say, do you think it's fair to charge a truck $21.95 for a car wash?" by the way, I have a sedan. At that point, based on her Customer Service skills, I made the decision to bring to her attention, her manners. She rolled her eyes and said "Ay dios mio!" and she turned away and rang up the transaction with my credit card. There were other customers in that small room waiting for their transactions. The man behind me, acknowledged her behavior with a glance at me. Since of course, I wanted to leave a tip for the car wash fellows, I said to her, "may I please have change for this five dollar bill?" She then responded that she didn't have any thing except for fives and tens. I find that a little hard to believe since that little pay area had convenience store items. She, the proof of purchase sheet and my credit card handed me back the receipt and said, "you might want to use this again". Clearly, I am not the only customer that has had this interaction with this cashier. It appears that her name has been mentioned several times in this review portal. It should be noted that I have had numerous encounters just like this with this same cashier. I wish the owner would do something about her manners. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Owner is unreasonable and does not take accountability for damages!!! I have used this place for car wash for several years and they always did a good job until this weekend. After washing my car I noticed my driver side window was half way down upon staging in the drying area. It obviously did not go through the wash area with window down and nothing was wet inside. I called over the manager and showed him my window was stuck. It had been damaged while washed and would not roll up. The mechanism had been broken. Manager told me to bring in to their shop for repair on next day (Monday). I took my car in and waited all day for a call back on status. Finally the owner called me back and stated he will not fix the window and it was my problem. I vehemently disagreed and he denied they did any damage. He said he would review video which I encouraged him to do. Didn't even agree to split the cost. I have a 2022 Audi with low miles that has had no mechanical problems. He was a complete jerk to me and I told him I'll never come back and will tell the community about his terrible business practices. I'm local to the area but will never again buy gas, a pack of gum, or use this car wash with an owner who is not fair and reasonable to customers. I encourage you to blackball this business!! The female Asian cashier is the WORST. Every encounter I've had with her has been problematic. Last time I was there I paid cash, $65 to her for gas. My pump stopped at $31 and change. I had to argue with her over getting the rest of my gas. She mixed up pumps and payments. Then I had to argue with her over my remaining balance, which is insisted was $30 until I showed her the math on a calculator. TODAY I went inside and paid DEBIT. $80 - I used $71.25. I went in to get my change which she handed me in cash. Fine it was a debit transaction. I go to my car to leave and she follows me, saying she needs the money back because I paid with a card. I'm done with her. She sits in there and watches TV on her phone. She doesn't acknowledge customers unless you address her at which point she looks up from her phone as if you've disrupted her. Was riding my bike to get some eggs and orange juice and David, the owner, had a 2008 BMW hardtop convertible for sale for a more than fair price. So I came home with more than breakfast essentials. Soon after, a belt started squealing on "White Lightning" and David offered to fix it for free? That doesn't happen too often anymore. Great gas prices, hand car wash and honest repair shop. I have a BMW x7 and when they finished I went to open the third row for my kids to get in and they didn't vacuum or clean the windows. There was still crumbs everywhere. My steering wheel wasn't cleaned and my center console still had dust all over it. Don't waste your time here go up a block to the other car wash. read more

Went there for gas. The Owner is operating a car wash / car repair there as well. I see a Porshe and a couple other cars being washed / detailed. I figure they must be decent to good. I let them detail my 2023 Chevy convertible. The guy asks for $250! I pay him. He has his $15 hour worker do a terrible job on my car. Including a scratch and leaving compound everywhere as wel as on my convertible top. He tells me it looks like new, it looks like new! I tell him it is new! What the H.E. double hockey sticks!! I've been coming here for decades, since it's very conveniently located right in the middle of PV -- Hawthorne & Silver Spur. The owner, David, is a great guy. He buys used cars and advertises them on the corner of the lot sometimes, so be sure to offer your cars to him before you go to CarMax and get lowballed! Ray, the manager, is one of the nicest human beings I have met. He is such a great guy, and seems to be there virtually open to close, every single day... very hard working guy, and he acknowledges regulars every time. The very detail-oriented interior+exterior professional car washes are very reasonable. Since I get a car wash every 1-2 weeks, I always buy 10 at a time for $160, so I save $3 for each wash. Gas is always priced quite well. Certainly the lowest in a 5 mile radius of PV, if not the entire South Bay. Getting service at this Arco is also very reasonable. Alberto, the service manager is very reasonable and understanding. They always price things very well, and most importantly, they are HONEST. I have 100% faith in them, every time. As a family, we've probably spent tens of thousands here over the past decades, on our many cars. The fact that I, as a car guy, still come here with my new modded Camaro 2SS, rather than going to one of my many friends' shops, should tell you something. Cash-only for gas. No credit cards. 35 cent charge for debit. Cards are okay for service and car washes. Make sure to bring cash to tip the car wash guys. $2-3 at least, but $5 if you're planning on being a regular like me. There are tons of extra options for the car wash... the details are very well done, but for hundreds of dollars, it is not worth it to me -- only because the regular car wash is so great that the incremental benefit of their detail is not enough. But I am very thankful to have a manual hand car wash so close to my house. As a car guy, I could never take my car through a machine car wash, scratching the paint. This Arco location has the best prices for top tier fuel in the area. Although it it located at a busy intersection, it is easy to get in and out, and the pumps have updated screens with Apple Pay capability. Never have any issues unlike other Arco's in the area with messed up payment systems, sometimes you show up and they can't even process credit cards, but not here. The cashiers are always friendly, went in recently to put air in my tires and the gentleman provided me instructions and as much air as I needed, no questions asked about whether I had purchased gas yet. Don't know about the car wash services, only take one of my cars here for fuel. read more

Did an oil change there. Waited 3 hours. The guy called to pick up the car. The car parked at the same spot as we dropped in. No sticker on the windshield to indicate when is the next time for oil change. The oil was still very dark, it is like the oil didn't get changed. We called back and the guy asked us to bring the car back there for him to take a look. We brought the car back there. He said the dashboard will indicate when is the next oil change. He checked the oil and said if the engineer is not clean you will see the oil like that, but we just change the freaking oil there. He said he has the recording but if I want to see the recording we need to pay him for the time. He asked me to come back another time to show me the recording. I said why don't you take a picture of the recording showing you were doing the oil change and text me that picture. He agreed. But I have never received anything from him. One other thing is they asked us if we want to change the break pad, he mentioned it is only 10% left. What a lie. We changed the break pad less than a year ago in another car shop. I would never trust this place and will never ever go back to this place. Waste time and money. read more

The owner parks her Mercedes Benz in clear view of everyone while she is inside ignoring everyone until 6 AM on the clock aaa according to her, she is unable to help because the systems start to turn on at 6 AM. Maybe 5 or 6 people trying to get gas each morning have been turned away, shunned, confused by the shadow inside with the window shutters down. This place probably loses that many people every morning times how much gas they must lose at least $1K in business each morning they stick to their nazi timeclovk. This place is awful. This Arco station is the best car repair location in the area of Rolling Hills Estates and Torrance that I have found in the 8 years of living in the area and trying a number of car repair service stations. My 5 rating is due to Alberto, Service manager, and his crew. He, and the service his repair area provides is the reason I will not take my car to any other car repair. He is knowledgeable, patient and extremely helpful. His price quotes are honest, very reasonable and do not include unneeded services. Prices reasonable and repairs WORK! I am a woman who knows very little about car repairs, have a 2003 Mercedes with 147,000 miles, and Alberto and his crew have kept it running w/o charging prices that scare/panic me. Just drove off without getting gas because apparently when they are on shift changes they shut everything down and everyone has to sit and wait for their gas. I was told it would be 15 minutes to wait for what should be a 5 minute stop to fill with gas. Unfortunately this Arco is in one of the prime locations off silver spur and was convenient. Brought a car in to be smogged. They told us we needed new front brakes. We said ok. Picked the car up after a few hours and thought all was fine.... Until my daughter started getting tickets because we didn't get the registration. Why no registration? Because the morons didn't smog the car. I called to complain. My credit card didn't read on their scanner so one of the clerks turned to me and told me to use a better card and goes back to yelling at his employee. I brought my twenty year old car in for a SMOG. I told the mechanic the battery was failing and might need to be jumped. The car failed smog because they ended up jumping the battery which I discovered after the fact. The mechanic at the counter (same one I told about the battery) told me it did not pass because I had a bad battery and the OBD test failed when the battery was jumped. Seems when the battery is jumped the data for the OBD is erased and causes the smog test to fail. He then told me to drive a 100 miles and come back. I came back after driving the miles for a retest. I asked that they not jump the battery and erase the data for the OBD; they then told me they would have to jump the car again. So they took my money, told me to drive 100 miles when they could have told me from the get go that the bad battery would make the car fail the SMOG test. I am not a SMOG expert (they don't seem to be either) and I just wanted to see if this old car would pass SMOG before spending more money for a new battery. They could have just told me to get a new battery before attempting to SMOG the car at the very beginning. This was a total rip. read more

I have been living here my entire life and never used these people for good reason. Just confirmed I won't be using them ever after trying to get a smog here out of convenience of location. Service manager not only smokes constantly on site but also told me to go fuck myself after his employees have been telling me over the phone that the smog service was out of order and needed repairs (keep in mind this is after taking my money). I finally went in person to call them on their lies to find the service manager accusing me of lying about ever calling and that he answers the phone 24 hours a day. After showing him call logs of numerous days over the last few weeks he just claimed I was making it up. Why would I waste my time over weeks for a $40 smog? After he continued to be petty and saying he doesn't like me (which I can only assume is due to him being a desperate lonely old man who still works at a run down gas station) he informed me that the owner would contact me after he continued to swear in his poor English.
