STAY AWAY! The machine ate my credit card instead of spitting it back out after processing it! I asked the Arco cashier for help but he told me to find a cleaning staff (?) from the business next door since he wasn't allowed to leave his post. After aimless running around in search for help, someone finally came and got my card out with a screwdriver?! That seems legit. Apparently this station only accepts debit cards. Yet, they didn't think to make a sign to inform their customers. Moreover, if you won't accept credit cards then make your machine decline them instead of holding them hostage. The most troublesome gas station to get into and out of. Because of the location, a lot of people had been hit from those coming out of the freeway ram. And others had been hit trying to get back into the main street because of the heavy traffic. The price of gas here and the location, I would rather go somewhere else. read more

THE SMOG GUY IS AN ASS!! STAY AWAY!!! So needing air for my tires, I stopped by the station before heading onto I-280. You know, like a safety precaution! When I get to the air/water station, there's a box requiring you pay $1.50 to turn it on. $1.50 for AIR!?!?! I ask the guy sitting on his rear doing nothing (clearly an indication other people already know this station's reputation) if he could please turn on the air. He was quite curt in telling me I have to pay $1.50. It was my understanding that years ago, California passed a law requiring all gas stations to offer air & water at no cost. Well, this brick (imagine a more appropriate letter instead of "b") proceeded to have me follow him to the air pump, where he rudely points to the sign which says "if the customer purchased fuel". Well, I don't know about you, but I've really noticed how kindness has really gone downhill lately. And I try my hardest to be kind to people I come across. And considering the fact that air is a necessary component to safe driving, you would've thought this ass would've turn the pump on without dragging me back to the pump to prove me wrong. After all, HE'S not paying for the air. WTF does HE care!?! Well, when you live a sad boring life of breathing fumes all day, it probably makes him feel a little powerful. Maybe that's why he has the smog job? He gets to pass/fail people all day!! Pass this station. DON'T GO HERE. They don't give a shit about you or your safety, & are power hungry. read more

This review is just for the gas station part.... It's not horribly expensive, it's easy to get to from 280, and the bathroom was only somewhat disgusting. That's good. The cashier is a big nasty jerk and needs a major attitude overhaul. That's not good, but understandable as he's trapped at a gas station all day. Also, it's kind of hard to get out/back onto the road in the direction you want to be going from this awkward corner location. I am sure I will be back at some point as I'm a cheapskate and the price of gas here isn't horrible. read more

Extremely dishonest service and the service guy is a crook. Tony Zeng checked our car for smog. He overcharged us for the service and when we enquired about the discount admitted that there is one after the payment was completed. Horrible service. Would not recommend to anyone. DO NOT go to this Arco. the guy who is there right now at night (5/17/18) is VERY VERY RUDE...I had asked to use the restroom key right after filling up my tank and he refused and was hella rude about it. Serving as of one of the many gas stations in Daly City, this Arco is right off the Mission St. exit on the freeway which is great if you're due for an emergency gas stop. Prices are decent. Not the best, but certainly better than the 76/Shell stations nearby. The cashier here is efficient enough although I have had times where she's had quite the attitude towards other customers. The entrances can be difficult to maneuver because of the highway exit and merging lanes. Like most gas stations, there's the left and right pump and seeing as there are a lot of cars who's gas door is on the left side, it can be difficult to grab spot unless you back up and position yourself to a left door pump. read more

Was in the are looking to fill up the tank. I hadn't been at this ARCO in a long time but it is clear that this location has been remodeled since my last visit. There are now new pumps at the station unlike the old setup. I remember before the remodel it was a hassle going to the machine in the middle of the station to select the pump and pay for gas. It never ever seemed to work. But, now there is a more reliable system in place which is nice. Because this station is located on the corner it makes getting in and out a lot easier as well. The also do smog checks here as well. If you can find the Groupon online you can get it at a discounted rate. #FillupOnPump1 read more

Probably the cheapest place to get gas right now ($3.99 as of 5/28/2008) in my neighborhood. Not too crowded which is a plus. But remember, this is ARCO. This is probably not the cleanest burning fuel and is pretty much just a cheaper way of destroying the Earth, and last time I checked Earth is the only inhabitable planet in the universe. read more

Tony, 'the mechanic' is hedious. He did not honor the free re-test policy. Be aware that they have a 10 day maximum retest policy, which is not pointed out in their free-retest advertisement. The parts to fix the car took 12 days to arrive. Hence, Tony says, "you pay again... Tony please give me a break? Tony's answer, Yeah, you get break, you pay same thing you pay befo." I almost pleaded with him, and even offered to pay half of what he was re-charging for the free re-test. Nothing. I was not about to give him one more penny of my business, went to get the car smogged somewhere else, where they charged me the same amount that Tony wanted for the 'free re-test.' read more

arco is consistently cheaper than most other gas stations it just so happens that in arcos from berkeley, oakland to daly city- the price of regular is $3.57 WOW! that definitely brings a smile to my face. not being from the city i scare easy from the higher gas prices so before heading to San Francisco i look for places to fuel up. found this arco close to the freeway and stopped to gas up. just like other arco stations they are cash or atm. no credit cards. i think that's how they keep their prices low. there is a $0.35 charge when you use the atm just a friendly heads up. until next time cheers! read more

The prices here are the cheapest in the area. You won't find anything better up north in SF, or south in SSF. Prices are usually identical to the SSF Costco - just check out gasbuddy. read more

The gas is incredibly inexpensive here but you will need to bring your debit card or cash. I think there's a debit card fee, but the price per gallon more than makes up for it. I have not had the opportunity to meet any of the staff as of yet. read more

Went for a smog and was good to go. They help you out, you know what I mean. Easy and decent service from a friendly staff.

The guy who does the smog checks is very unprofessional and seriously lacks the ability to communicate effectively. I took my car in and during the smog the engine started to surge and the "check engine" light came on which automatically fails the test. I took my car to my mechanic and got the problem fixed that same day. The next day I took my car back for my free retest and the car passed the smog part but failed cause the engines computer had not reset. The technician informed me that I should have driven the car about 70 miles before bringing it back. When I asked him why he could not have told me that before my free retest he told me that was not his responsibility. I was just there the day before. They did not offer to do it again or even give me a discount. $60 smog fail. $400 car repair. I am now going to take my car to Westlake Smog Test Only Center @ 101 S Mayfair Ave who has 5 stars and a $20 off coupon on their yelp* page to do my test again. read more
