On my way to work, once a week I visit this station. I like the convenience of so many fuel pumps. They're never crowded during the time I visit, 6:45 a.m. Their convenience store is always well stocked. Coffee and condiments readily available. The staff working at the counter are always friendly with pleasant smiles. I enjoy receiving a car wash once in a while, and other staff monitor the car wash, helping patrons move along. If a vehicle has a window wiper blade on the back of the vehicle, the car wash attendant covers the blade with a narrow plastic bag to keep it safe. The only downside to the car wash are people blocking other people trying to get fuel, or people done vacuuming inside their car, trying to back up. Some of those people waiting in line for the car wash are really inconsiderate, not wanting to move their cars out of the way. Another convenience is Burger King right next to the fuel station. read more

Nice looking Chevron. Pulled up to get gas. Went through the transaction process. When it came around to putting the gas into my car, no matter how I angled the nozzle and pressed the trigger, gas would not dispense. Then all of a sudden, the hose disconnects from the terminal it's connected to. I can't make this up. It fell to the ground. Makes sense why gas wouldn't pump. Imagine if I was in the middle of pumping and then somehow the hose disconnects. Moved to another pump and was able to successfully pump. read more

Three different prices for car wash, $9, $11, $13. I chose the $13 Rain-X. I was surprised how well this carwash system cleaned so well. I was really impressed with the high gloss and wax layer it left especially at the end with the extreme auto drying system. I would definitely come back with a car that I don't really care about or that doesn't require hand washing. Pros: convenient, cleans very well. Cons: Long line, very slow(waited 40 minutes for 5 cars ahead of me. Slightly more expensive by $2 than the average place, left some scuff and scratches on my car. read more

My fiancé doesn't want his car going through a car wash with brushes and things that can scratch up the car and this place doesn't have any of that. Faint sewer smell from the nearby water treatment center and slightly overpriced yet safe place. Safe is refreshing. If youe been in the city its difficult to find a place where you can fill up without watching your back. The homeless and the crazies can be so distracting. Came right before 7am waiting for the car wash to open at 7am. There are cones blocking the car wash because of course, it's still closed. Went inside just to make sure it didn't mean it wasn't working. And they said, yes it works and wait til it opens. Parked my car so I can be first in line. Other comments/reviews back me up when I say the line can be agonizingly long. Hence, my eagerness to be first in line. Anyways, it's now 7:05am, and they haven't moved the cones. I call the gas station on my phone and ask if they'll be opening the car wash soon. The worker rudely said "just wait! It opens at 7." I responded "it's now 7:06." Then he hung up. A couple of minutes later, a worker walks out and takes the cones away. Overall, the car wash was good for $9. There are higher prices for more options, but it's almost just as much as going to the local washer near me, and the point of the drive thru is to save a little bit of cash. The machine did a good enough job (some slight residue, but that's to be expected), and I was pretty pleased with it compared to other machines. The gas was pretty expensive at over $4 a gallon at the time. read more

There's a homeless guy living next to the entrance of the car wash. Old white guy with a wheelchair and a very swollen and infected right leg. He was standing the entire time I was there and when my car wash was almost over he walked into the machine and had a bar of soap and started using a hose attached to a sprayer to clean himself - while my car was in the drying mode. I went in and told the employees that there's a homeless guy back there in the machine and they said the Daly City Police Department wouldn't do anything about it. Not sure if DCPD has turned into b*****s or they're trying to duck creating criminal stats to preserve home prices in the area, but DCPD needs to crack some heads. F**K the paperwork. When did it become ok for Westlake to turn into the SF Tenderloin? 2 stars because it's still only $10 for a basic car wash and that's a very good price. read more

Terrible customer service: Waited an hour for the car wash and when I finally was able to pay the machine was unresponsive. I then called to ask for help but attendant hung up on me and made me lose my place in line to go inside to pay. The attendant didn't apologize and was extremely unhelpful. I had to wait in line to wash AGAIN. I'm terribly frustrated and hope the service and machinery improves here. Would rate this place a 0/10 if possible. read more

My car needed gas. The roommate and I were at Westlake Center, so we stopped by this gas station since it was close and on the way home. We dropped by Tuesday, September 6th around 2pm. Getting gas was simple and quick. We didn't have to wait for a pump, which is always a plus. I have no idea how much they charged per gallon that day as I wasn't the one who bought the gas, but I believe it was average or else I probably would have heard the roomie complain about the price. Judging from the reviews here, I'd probably stay away from the car wash. But if I need gas in a pinch, this Chevron will do. read more

I was #10 in line for the car wash when I arrived. An hour later my turn finally. I followed the instructions carefully and proceeded into the enclosed washing area. I paid the $15 for the highest priced package but my tires were still dirty and my car was wet. Drying cost extra which I paid. When I went inside to complain my car was still wet the cashier (older guy) blamed me, asking me what did I do. I told him I sat there for the blowers to dry but it only blew the front of my car, not the sides or rear. He showed no regards for my issue, he could have offered me paper towels. read more

Just stopped by the get a car wash but after purchasing the car wash I realized that this place still uses the brushess.....AHHHHHH!!!! Brush in the car wash can tend to damage your car over time for those of you who are not aware. Hence, when I realized this I was disappointed but considering I hardly ever go to this car wash I was OK for today. The chevron at 410 Hickey does not use brushes and their car wash is a lot better. Just used pump #12, pump isn't working correctly suppose to shut off once gas tank is full. I put the pump on automatic setting and once my gas tank was full, gas continued to flow out of the pump gun and on to my car!!!! The gas station needs to fix this ASAP! read more

I've had no issues with this Chevron until tonight. I'd come once in awhile to get gas or a car wash and noticed there was an advertisement for bang energy drinks, 2 for $3.99. I came in around 11:30pm right after I got off a rough afternoon of work to pick up some bang to get me through the weekend. I park and approach the doors, locked. No biggie, understandable it's late, I'll try asking the female cashier I saw near the window to purchase some. This is where it went downhill... I ask for two bang energy drinks and am immediately met with hostility as this woman points toward the display set up in the middle of the store. I kindly ask what flavors they have since I obviously can't see them behind the glass and she responds with broken English. Again understandable. I try asking for the Pina Colada flavor (since that's the only can I recognize) and describe the color of the can which is pretty obvious, but she still doesn't understand. For whatever reason she keeps thinking I'm saying the word "back" and "red" so she grabs a two of the same flavor bang drinks and refuses to even bother looking for another other one "in the back." The entire time I'm asking for the specific can, this lady is standing basically near the back of the store just pointing at random cans continually asking "HUH?" "WHAT?" "I'M NOT GOING TO THE BACK TO CHECK." Like please just come toward the window with the microphone so you can actually hear me... I'm broken down by now and I give up telling her fine I'll take the two she randomly picked cause I just want to go home. At this point I'm a bit agitated, but what really frustrated me was how she threw the two drinks and my card into the box separating the inside of the store to the outside of the store and proceeded to immediately turn around and walk back to her corner to sit on her step stool. All of this happened while I have not even begun reaching for my items. Sure I understand working night shift sucks, but come on, you really trying to ruin my night as well when I'm just asking for a drink. This review is for the car wash and not the gas station or mini mart, the slowest car wash of all time! This car wash is so old, out of date and unbelievably slow that I just just don't understand why people are willing to pay and wait here! I avoid this car wash at all costs because I have had one other experience with it probably more than ten years ago and it was just as slow back then, and after waiting in a line of about ten cars for an hour, I vowed to never come back, but one of those days when my moms car was covered in bird turd and really needed a wash and I just didn't have time to drive down the peninsula and find another one that was open, I decided to give it one more try here. It was at the end of a long day of doing many chores and errands at around a little before 7:30PM and my last stop was to wash my mothers car. I had actually planned to get there late so I wouldn't have to wait long in line. there's often and typically a line of at least 5 to as many as more than 10 cars during the daytime hours I thought that because it would be as late as possible the line would die down but no! I got there a few minutes before 7:30 saw there were still about 7 cars in line so went shopping for a half hour at the Safeway and Walgreens nearby and timed it so I would get there just before the cutoff time at 8 and there was still a line of 5 or 6 cars ahead of me, then the guy roped it off behind me This wash is so incredibly slow, I was there for over 45 minutes even after pre planning to be the very last to be washed. You just sit there and sit there and it seems to take ten minutes for the line of cars to move up just a little by little. When I finally got to the point of reaching the automated machine where you punch in your code, I decided to time the car in front of me who of course must have sprung for the most expensive wash, over seven minutes for one wash! I then timed my own wash which was the basic wash and that was over 4 and a half minutes! I think most people spring for the ultra deluxe wash or whatever it is that takes the longest. Also, the basic wash here is $8 and they do not offer any discount if you buy gas! The car wash at the Chevron on Hickey and El Camino in Colma charges $6 for the basic wash, and takes $2 off of that with just $20 worth of gas, so half the price for a much faster and better car wash when you just get $20 worth of gas. I'm not sure but the extra discount may be when using your Safeway gas rewards but I asked the cashier at the mini mart at this one if there were any discounts and they said no. The gas is much less expensive there as well. read more

The car wash here is broken half of the time and they refuse to fix the drive up machine where you can pay for your car wash, for months! All they have to do is order a simple part so it can recognize new bills but they don't want to do that either. It does not take ANY bills, old or new, and the coin area is covered with tape. The dryer does not lower anymore so everyone who goes through gets ripped off. The lame cheap owners need to get their shit together and stop being so ghetto about their franchise when its not even in the ghetto. This is my choice of Chevrons for gas...majority of the time this place has the lowest gas compared to other chevrons in the bay area. And the fact that its really close to where I live.. That's right, I came back. I really needed to vacuum my car before a trip, and this was the closest station to the freeway that I knew of that had the vacuum. I even surprised myself by returning, because I said that I would NEVER return, the caps and all, and I DID. If you've read my old review you'll know that there was no way in hell I was going inside due to Lazy M (even another reviewer wrote about her, that just goes to show how bad she is at customer service, or even doing her own job duties in general) so I grabbed as many quarters as my child hand could hold and shoved them in that stupid machine until I heard it start click on. I don't even KNOW how much I put in there, I just wanted it to work, and it did. Thus my one star upgrade. So all in all, I guess the first star on my second review is for not having to deal with Lazy M, and the second star because the machine worked this time. Came in around 8:30 pm to buy scratcher tickets. The cashier, Odie said they were done selling tickets for the night. I asked him if he knew where else I could buy scratcher tickets. He said no. I asked him if he was from here. He said yes and that he still didn't know where to buy them. I thought, fine. He then went on to give me an attitude and tell me I asked him a stupid question. From that moment on we continued to argue. I called him an asshole because he was rude to me for no reason. I was nice and simply asking questions. Excuse me for not being from the area and excuse me for trying to ask a local where I can buy a god damn scratcher ticket. You would think that being a Filipina that a Filipino man would be nice, but since I don't speak Tagalog, he probably hates "my kind" of Americanized Filipinos. This lack of customer service is unacceptable and the worst part is that no one from that station, nor from corporate will contact me to try to right this wrong. I purchased my car wash while getting gas about 3 weeks ago. Saw the line and said "f*** this. I'll come back at a later day." Came back. Nah meng. Too long of a line.
