They were dedicated, professional, timely, and in fact, blew me away by putting in an incredible amount of detail and care. They didn't settle for right, they wanted it to be perfect - if a single sheet was 'notable' they wanted it changed. I never saw a member of the team walk past a window without picking up debris, and we appreciate that level of care. Couldn't be happier!

We had intended to sub it all out ourselves and we were very close to pulling the trigger when we met Joe at the Edmonton home show. He gave us honest advice that we could do better, especially on the quality of windows we were about to lock in. So we asked if he would give us a quote for the whole thing. We had already hired a designer, so we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted, but Joe spent a lot of time with us, showing us other options and ultimately dialing in the exact design. Specifically, he showed us some options that we had never considered with a mix of vinly siding and Hardie. Joe also got window quotes that were the same price or better than we had received, but for higher quality windows. Often a good salesman doesn't always translate to a good team. That was not the case with Smart Home. Their entire team and sub contractors were excellent. Once the project started and we were able to directly contact the sub contractors and they were all very responsive. With any multi-faceted job, there will be issues, and they were all handled quickly. For example, we noticed right away that the style of vinyl siding was wrong, it was fixed the next day. We had some electrical issues, the electrician came back multiple times, until it was solved. We had water issues with our garage that became more apparent when the old siding was removed. Andrew, the primary job manager, came to us with helpful suggestions and ultimately implemented the agreed upon solution. Andrew also made innovative suggestions on how to reconfigure our eavestroughs to avoid icy spots in the winter. Smart Home only works with excellent contractors and we couldn't have been happier with the entire process from start to finish. Fair, honest dealing with a company that truly made us feel like they had a stake in the final product. I can't recommend them enough.

In short, Ilya and I Roof Alberta have been outstanding. He explained all options, pros and cons, costs involved and set realistic timelines (of course weather dependent). On my roof, he worked with his crew and did quite a bit of work himself. It is evident he takes pride in his work, provides excellent workmanship and does not cut corners or rush the job. There were a few sections of the roof that were rotted and he replaced the plywood - first talked to me and sent me pics. He also recommended more professional and leak proof solution for my chimney and different method and material for my very low pitched garage roof. I have tons of reno experience myself and have hired many professionals to do work for me before. I also do tons of research (mostly on the internet), plus check references and talk to people who had similar work done. I am also at the jobsite quite a bit, almost daily, and follow very closely what is being done and how. No issues with Ilya, he checked all the boxes for me. Lastly, metal roofs are great but they are also very expensive. I had several quotes and I Roof Alberta was not the cheapest but definitely nowhere near the most expensive quote. In fact I Roof Alberta was very competitive when taking into account the quality of the materials (e.g. gauge and finish of steel) and the care they take to do a very professional job.

On installation day, the door had a major problem -- it required extreme effort to open and close. We didn't want it installed, but we were assured by All Weather that it could be fixed with adjustments. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed the installer and made him tear off all the moulding and move the door half an inch. This did not solve the issue. We were then told the window had to be paid for in full before any warranty work would begin. We paid, with hesitation, believing it was our only option. Over the next several months, they returned multiple times -- often arriving without the proper parts or tools, and even forgetting which parts they had already replaced. Now, five months later (in September), the door is still not fixed or properly finished. Once All Weather realized they could not fix it, they dismissed the problem and told us it was "good enough," even though the door is still difficult to open and close and is missing weather stripping. As an elderly couple, this ordeal has been exhausting and stressful. After months of delays, excuses, and failed fixes, we cannot recommend All Weather At Home to anyone."

The windows were supposed to be 32 inches wide. We proceeded with the order come install day the windows are wider than we agreed upon and the installers say they can't keep our old trim and they didn't want to install any trim at all. We now have exposed framing. Our salesperson blew us off and so has some woman named Samantha. Due to their actions I had to drop more money on custom blinds and now I need to hire some to fix the mess they left behind. It has been over a month and they have not returned our calls and emails. I will be exploring my legal options. So my $4500 windows are costing me way more due to new custome blinds and repair/restoration work required.
