Really, truly, open until 11pm 6 days a week (except the first Wednesday of the month, watch out for that). As someone who leaves things to the last minute and then needs a postmark for a particular date, the real-life, staffed post office counter inside Thornton's Budgens is a LIFESAVER. Please never change. Incidentally, Thornton's Budgens itself looks pretty nice, and hey, a place to buy groceries that's open late too!

After spending some time searching the internet and discovering so many people asking if there are any post offices in London open over the weekends, I stumbled upon a business listing for Belsize Park Post Office, which amazingly listed very long opening hours, which I thought must have been a mistake, however, I phoned them up and they confirmed that they are indeed open every Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening, and they are also open every Sunday afternoon. Not only that, they are also open late in the evening every week night. So I made my way to Belsize Park and bought a tax disc for my car, which I was pretty chuffed about. This is only a small post office branch located inside a Budgens supermarket store so it's strange that it seems to be the only post office in London that has such long opening times. It's not exactly local to me but I will certainly go there again if I need to use a post office late in the evening or at the weekend. It's a shame more post offices aren't open later longer! I needed the services of a courier to pick-up a package for my boss while she was in the UK on…read morebusiness. The box was delayed and would be arriving after my boss would check out of the hotel. I reached out to Postal and Courier service told them the sitúa and they said they were able to pick up the box Taimoor was great. He followed up with UPS, tracked the package and went to the pick up station in-person. After alot of delays, he finally got the package. His driver delivered it to our London office for safe keeping. Taimoor kept me informed by email and phone calls. I will definitely use this courier service again.

worst post office ive ever used…read more staff are clueless; always try to overcharge me, and some cannot understand english; trying to post overseas seems to be a particular impossibility; -"id like to send this airmail to america, please". ~"first class?' -"no, just airmail. to america." ~'where's it going?" -"america. normal airmail, please." ~"you want signed for?" -"no thanks, normal airmail" ~"where's it going?" -"america". ~ "you want insurance?" nightmare. being a large space, the owners have divvied off sections round the edge to extra 'businesses', so there are now grumpy looking dudes doing phone unlocking, watch repairs etc. its always dirty, with rubbish strewn around the floor, marks on the wall etc, and dodgy looking wiring hanging out of the ceiling in a couple of places. there are shabby stands selling cheap and useless stuff like cheap paperbacks no one ever wants to read or buy. worst of all are the post office staff though- most of whom are REALLY surly, incompetent to the point of potentially deliberate dishonesty. they seem incapable of basic common sense; a couple of times parcel force have unhelpfully decided to leave parcels for me there, rather than back at the parcel force depot. every single time kentish town post office staff have been unable to find my parcels, meaning ive had to get parcel force to collect from kt, then take to their depot- all taking a couple of days and much hassle. most annoying is that they routinely try to overchage me; things i know to be small parcels they try to over charge as large parcels; i then post them correctly as small ones at camden.

The queue was huge. The mix of OAP's and some young unsavoury types who were extremely drunk for 10.30am almost made me decide to keep the parcel. With three different delivery options, of which only one could guarantee a set arrival day but would have set me back over £40, I decided on a more basic delivery system. Queens Crescent Post Office feels old and looks old. Unless you are unemployed and collecting a giro or cashing in your pension, there is little reason for setting foot inside unless you are sending a package overseas.
