DON'T PAY IN CASH.
When you go to check in an item, the man at the front of the store will say "cash only". This is a red flag. This isn't done to avoid tax, but because their repairs are extremely poor, their customer service is awful, and they will give you your item back broken, tell you it's fixed and refuse to give your money back. They ask for cash so you don't tell your credit card company to reverse the charge.
I dropped my laptop off because it wasn't turning on, and was told there was a short on the power circuit which would be fixed. I received a laptop back which now doesn't charge, the keyboard is permanently destroyed (they got solder on the connector pins, so much for checking that eh guys?), the screen brightness doesn't work any more and the CPU won't stay at full power. When I complained about this I was told I had "no proof" the keyboard was them and somehow all the above issues were completely unrelated to the short and they now wanted an additional £400 on top of what I'd already paid because "charging circuits are hard".
This is after I repeatedly got the laptop back being told it was fixed, to find my speaker grill smashed, screws missing, or in the wrong place. If you genuinely use a box to keep them in when disassembling, you would've been left with the two screws you lost in the box. So you either lied to me, or you saw the screws, didn't care you hadn't put it back together properly, and threw them out. Both are awful things to do.
When I complained about the broken item, the demand for £400 and awful service (they had my laptop for a month) I was hung up on 4 times after being shouted at repeatedly. This is after having to visit the store 3 times for this repair because the technician doesn't understand how to boot from a USB, which is fairly basic for a repair tech to know how to do - but tbh, reflects the skill level of these guys.
So in summary - take your item elsewhere,
ANYWHERE ELSE. The reviews below where the owner claims "you've left the review for the wrong business" are accurate, and he has lied saying this. They match my experience perfectly.
If you don't believe me, ask to pay with a card. Even offer to cover the 2.5% charge. When they say no (despite the fact it won't cost them anything) you'll know it's because they know they'll mess up and won't return your money.
Avoid at all costs. read more
