The one issue is that they accidentally cut our optic line for the internet (they didn't see the line), and then didn't immediately tell me about it. They didn't have the right cables to replace it, so I had to get a service call; luckily a tech was nearby and didn't charge me for it. In future, immediately informing the homeowner of any issues, before trying to resolve it themselves, would be the proper move. read more

In November 2023, Moore's Home Services installed a new FAU in my condo. Archon was contracted to perform the intermediary install inspection before having a City of Santa Rosa building inspector sign off on the final for my records. Having failed to honor the initial inspection scheduled with Archon, I thoroughly owned my lapse in scheduling. Archon was gracious and considerate, despite the inspector being bailed on by me. They set me up with a following inspection at my own choosing. Whomever was on the call that day was considerate and accommodating. Take Two! Felipe B. called me 30 minutes beforehand with a courtesy reminder. Felipe was everything that Moore's Home Services has been to me: considerate, friendly, and thorough in explaining the work they need to perform and asking follow up questions to ensure I understand; considerate of my home as a workplace, checking in with me over every necessary step of the inspection. (This involved going through every room with a heat register, crawling around the attic to inspect register boots, and accessing the new FAU.) I'm retired from property management as a 30+ year full time occupation. At several points, I imagined having an interview with Felipe to hire him for the program I used to work for. He was a quality guy in my home, and I imagine a great employee for Archon. (We shared some great anecdotal construction stories which had me laughing. If you get him, ask him about his company vehicle having the front bumper being thoroughly and aggressively chewed at by a mountain lion. I regret not taking a photo!...) Felipe performed the inspection in about 50 minutes, advised me of what's right with my new system (which passed, BTW...) and offered future improvements to my overall home energy needs. He was very through in explaining to me the process of the testing. And kept me informed with his findings. Today two of Archon Energy Solutions excellent employees--Ivan M. and Samuel W.--arrived timely, in the morning, then seamlessly completed their meticulous inspections, testing, and tweaking etc., of our excellent air system. Our household was happy to learn, as we requested, that we are already set up, with a few more tweaks, to be able to include a refreshing air conditioning-like cooling air flow, such as if/when the San Francisco Bay Area starts to sizzle, as can happen without warning, some summers. And yes--I agree with a previous yelp reviewer that Archon Energy Solutions is very appropriately customer friendly! read more

We had a HERS inspection done as part of an HVAC and duct replacement project. Service was excellent and helpful. A duct leakage and smoke test was done, as well as an extra blower door (envelope) test, and various inspections. However, the duct job was done to very poor insulation standards, which the HERS tester did not flag or even comment on. For example, the report states that the return ducting was insulated to R8. In actuality, the return was at least half completely bare, and the other half "insulated" with bubble wrap, which has a R value somewhere between 0 and 1, with a token section of actual insulation. A large leak was found with the smoke test, but other leaks were not located, but could have been if the registers were looked into. The contractor came back to fix the found leak, but the HERS tester did not return to verify compliance. This service was certainly expeditious, but then we were left with months of extra work to bring the ducts up to a reasonable standard. HERS testing should actually enforce stated standards, and environmental goals. The fundamental problem is that HERS testers are selected by the contractor, and have every motivation to pass the job. The customers, and the environment, are left with sub-standard work. read more

The inspector Chris M. demonstrated both friendliness and professionalism, providing extra information about my ducts, airflow, the installation, even various brands used by these companies during the inspection. He took some extra measurements around my house with several vents slightly shuttered to see if we can change our airflow in a specific, desired way, going above and beyond the inspection. He even cleaned up the entrance to my attic when we were done, even though I didn't notice a mark.
