I called and spoke with Mike the owner. He was very helpful and invited any questions that I had for him regarding repairing the water heater. He knew exactly what I was doing. He even came recommended from the water heater company and to top it all off, he was less than half of what my old plumber was charging. Mike came in and was done in 30mins and I am very satisfied with his work. I will be sending him many referrals!! Thanks Mike!! read more

I have been having water heater trouble for years. We have a few tiny houses and 1 was getting a new heater almost every year. He determined that our water pressure was too high, there were deposits in our pipes and that are lines needing to be covered. All of this was address and fixed and we had hot water in 1 day. Couldn't be happier. Professional and safe for women living alone. Pricing was reasonable as well. read more

I had a leaky faucet and since I called Michael several months ago to look at a water heater that we were told needed replaced right away I called for an estimate he was very up front about how soon we would need to replace it so I called him and he again was very up front and repaired the faucet at a reasonable price so I will use him again. read more

Michael was my plumber and dealt with a failed water heater event. He made valiant attempts to repair my only 7 year old atypical (expensive) residential heater but no luck. He recommended where to buy my replacement unit and when it arrived, he performed the installation quickly making several installation corrections that probably contributed to early failure. Michael patiently answered my many questions and left us with guidance on maintenance activities that hopefully will lead to a longer tank life. I have used one of the well known San Diego TV plumbers and always felt like I may have receive OK service but at an outrageous price. With Michael I was happy on all marks. Highly recommended. read more

I was so impressed with Archibald! What great service! Old school, stand up guy! He fixed our issue right away! Price was very fair. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

They took care of our water heater problem quickly . Michael was very responsive and throughly explained the problem and process .

here's a bit of irony: I'm writing a 5-star review for Archibald Plumbing after being referred by A.O. Smith whose 1-star review was one more star than they deserved. I called and talked with Michael late on a Monday afternoon and scheduled an appointment for first thing Tuesday morning. Michael called first thing Tuesday morning to confirm Ryan was on his way. Ryan showed up, as promised, and sorted out our plumbing situation in short order. after five days of cold showers, having hot water again was much appreciated. fast, fair, friendly, Archibald Plumbing is an absolutely first-rate company that was a pleasure to do business with. highly recommended. read more

Great experience with Archibald Plumbing! Our hybrid hot water heater stopped working properly. It's under warranty so we started with the manufacturer (AO Smith), and Archibald was one of 3 plumbers in the San Diego area that was recommended. My husband saw their ratings and chose them. Surprisingly, they came out the same day (we didn't expect that). Ryan gave us advice about how to keep the heater functioning in electric-only mode (and that it defaults to hybrid every couple of days). Michael kept us up to date on the status of the package of replacement parts from the manufacturer; the package arrived yesterday and Ryan came out this morning. Great service--thanks, guys! read more

Michael does quality work at a reasonable price and is easy to work with. I appreciate his straightforward approach.

Here we go... had a water heater go south on me at 9:30pm. Called Michael and he asked me some questions and was out here next morning. Pricing was fantastic and gave me the honest opinion of what really needed to be done. No upsell. Just a straight forward "Here's what you need". He corrected a handful of lousy details of the previously installed water heater had. Best service and a SOLID fella overall. Thanks Archibald Plumbing for the amazing service. read more

Our water heater burner malfunctioned. Received a very quick response for a same day service call, they came back next day to complete the repair once they had the part. Honest and very fair pricing! read more

Awesome experience from start to finish. I had a bad 75 gallons water heater and wanted to replace it. Called a few plumbers for a quote with pictures of the old heater and all of them wanted top come by to look at it. Michael responded within minutes and gave a quote with a reasonable range. I finalized the job and had him come the next day to install the water heater, with expansion tank and hot-water circulation pump for instant hot water throughout the house. The costs were pretty reasonable and the service was fantastic! I would highly recommend Archibald plumbing for all your plumbing needs! read more

Archibald Plumbing - Brand new water heater with circulation pump! - Plumbing Near Me

We had a crack on our main water line at the the end of of our backflow at the 90°brass elbow and the schedule 40 reducer to the main line. We contacted Archibald Plumbing and immediately received text messages from Michael the owner requesting to see pictures. Once Michael received the pictures he called me to discuss our options. Due to the weather (rain) and the holiday Michael was not able to come out until the following day. When Michael arrived he immediately reevaluated the situation and made additional recommendations. Michael went straight to work and quickly repaired the pipe using schedule 80 PVC and extending the length of the brass fitting for a smoother transition. He also reinforced the riser to the backflow with a post and bracket. read more

Woke up to cold water only on a Friday morning with the prospect of a no-washing weekend (no baths, no showers. no laundry, no dishwasher). I started researching on Yelp, but I couldn't locate a plumber who could do it that afternoon until I got a referral from one of the calls I made. I texted Archibald Plumbing, and, within a few minutes, Mike responded. Within two hours, Mike was at our home and the problem was solved. read more

Dismissive attitude and lack of respect for my property - I'm very frustrated with the attitude of the guy. When I went out and saw they had allowed water to run under my golf bad and quite a bit of other stuff, I said, " Oh Man! Why didn't you guys say something to me? I could have put a towel down between your work area and my stuff & this wouldn't have happened." I was upset, but checked myself and figured I'd said all that was necessary, because it had already happened. Instead, I said, "look in the future, you guys really should consider communicating with the customer and giving them the opportunity to avoid this happening. A single towel would have avoided this." Instead of acknowledging anything, he starts telling me "there is water in the sides of the tank".. like I'm dumb and cant understand a tank has to be drained... Which it appears they did not do... No wet spots at all outside of my home where they drained anything... and he tells the other guy I'm upset because the floor got wet! at this point I lost it, and was explicit as to what I was upset about and that I could care less about the floor! ... I expected the floor to get wet, but I did not expect them to allow water to drain soaking my compressor box, my golf bag and other items when a towel that was provided could have avoided it. It seems the attitude and respect is either 1. because I rent, or 2. this is how they treat all of their customers. I assume because my property management company will pay them, they figure I'm not important in the equation. Well this is bad business, its not just about the work you perform.. its about customer service and leaving things as they were before you came verses damaging things. In my case, it would have been an easy for them to avoid the issue if they had cared to. Now I will have Hours of work to assure things are dried properly to avoid mold and that family photos stored won't stick together when they dry and be ruined.. Two towels, would have avoided any of this and one would have protected the majority. read more

Mike saved our bacon, last minute, on a Saturday no less! We were having a new refrigerator installed from Best Buy and the technician said we needed to call a plumber. Why? Well, he claimed the water bob wasn't working and the problem must be from inside the wall because, even though the water to the house was shut off, he said water kept spraying out. So, I text Mike from Archibald plumbing with an SOS! He was there within 15 minutes!! Of course, the technician had already taken off. Was there an actual problem? No! The technician just hadn't turned the valve off all the way. That's right...the Best Buy installer left my old fridge in my living room and didn't install my new one because he failed to turn a valve off all the way so he could unhook the water line from the wall! Unreal. Thankfully, Mike got everything hooked up for us, gave us some pointers on what to look for and monitor with a new fridge, and didn't even charge us his usual Saturday fee because it ended up being such an easy fix. Amazing! I highly recommend Archibald plumbing for any of your plumbing needs! We will definitely be using his services again! read more

A O Smith water heater went out on Christmas Eve, eve. Called SDGE who came first thing Sat and could not light. Since I was still under parts only warranty, I waited until Mon and called A O Smith who gave 3 SD County companies that were authorized to do warranty work. Archibald had great ratings here so the next day I texted Mike the owner. In 15 mins he called back, came over, cleaned out the tube to pilot and I have hot water! The gas valve control assembly on my 2 1/2 year old water heater went out. Mike at Archibald Plumbing came highly recommended by Bradford White and a plumbing company in my area. I called him this morning and he came out, replaced the part and had me up and running in no time. He replaced the part like he could do it with his eyes closed!! His prices are reasonable and he's extremely honest! As far as I'm concerned, I have a plumber for life! I hope he never retires!!! read more

It is without hesitation that I write a review for Archibald plumbing. While out of the country I found out that my water heated quit working. On flight back I began looking at YELP reviews for a plumber to replace my water heater. Although there are several with good reviews I chose Archibald for three reasons. First was their prompt response to my text, second was that I was quoted a very fair reasonable set price with no potential add-ons, and third they were able to schedule me on the day I returned. Needless to say they achieved all my expectations. They communicated with me regarding time of arrival, did job with no added costs, and finished the job on day started. All code requirements were performed and job area was left just as they started it. I'm extremely pleased. Regarding the price quoted they fell within the range of purchase and replacement of water heaters in California and were lower than another quote given to me by text stating their price was just an estimated price. read more

Archibald Plumbing takes care of our Company and houses, we have an IBC hot water heater-boiler system that's fairly complicated he got it up and running as fast as he could get the parts from the distributor, when others in town would not even come look at it, as this system is not made in the US. I was referred to Michael as a water heater specialist from my goto plumbers. I was having trouble starting our water heater and then it was going out after a moderate period of time. Michael came out quickly and got it started, replacing the thermal couple kept it running. Heres the biggest part- my wife who was home with our children was sure to tell me she liked him, that he struck her as a "good" person. I already knew that since he was referred by my other trustworthy plumber but it makes it better when your wife feels comfortable with the repair people in her home. Did I mention he was quick to get back to us over the 4th of July weekend despite being out of town ? I would recommend this company and plan on calling on them for all my future water heater needs. Thank you !!!! read more

I cannot say enough on how great this company is! I work at a dental office in north county and we had an equipment failure that required a plumber to fix the issue. We were forced to cancel a full days worth of patients. I called 14 different plumbing companies, none of who were willing to work on our dental equipment. I was referred to Mike at Archibald Plumbing by a mutual friend. Mike's words were... "my guys wife works in a dental office, we understand the urgency and we'll be there in 1 1/2 hours". They showed up on time and got right to work, and we were back up and running before end of day! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

My water heater failed and was leaking all over my garage. This unfortunately happened on a Saturday evening. I called Archibald plumbing and spoke with Mike Archibald who explained to me that he could come over first thing Monday morning and replace the water heater but in the mean time he explained to me how my family and I could still use the shower when needed and how to stop the leaking in between using the shower and running the laundry until he could replace it which helped a great deal since we are a family of five. That Monday morning Mike showed up with a new water heater and all the parts to replace it. Mike was very efficient and explained everything he was doing while he was doing it and why it needed to be done. Within an hour the water heater was installed and we had a working water heater with no more leaks. Thanks Archibald Plumbing for helping us so quickly. Recently my Grams water heater failed as well.
