I provided them a screen shot of their site with the dates I was requesting and told them the dates they kept highlighting for me for a trip three weeks earlier would not work. And, perhaps they should update their site. No response, no offer to help find another trip, just snarkiness. THIS agency exemplifies why I rarely use travel agencies! Had them in my sights for two seperate trips; their lack of professionalism steered me away.

Our first trip was to Las Vegas in December, and Sofia (the lovely, dedicated owner) managed to find a deal for the W in Vegas (a 5 star hotel) for three nights, a concert ticket, and flights to and back from Seattle for under a thousand dollars. Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne and free appetizers because this was their opening weekend. Apparently, we had gotten a beautiful (new) suite with all the amenities and two coupons for cocktails as well. Not what we were expecting for $150 a night! It was a phenomenal trip, which could not have been possible without Sofia's help. We checked back later, and found that our room would have normally gone for $300 a night! Our second trip was to Cancun in January, and she managed to score another 5 star hotel (all-inclusive, with drinks) for five nights, flights, and two day tours for under two thousand dollars. We had a private beach, beautiful room, and amazing views--but no outrageous price tag! When you book with Go Travel, you eliminate the stress of traveling and just get to enjoy the experience. We simply told Sofia our budget, goals for the trip, and preferences for flight seating and hotel style. Within an hour we had our tickets booked, itinerary ready, and a list of useful suggestions on where to go/eat during our stay. She even sent us reminders, made sure everything was ready upon arrival, and checked in on us during the trip to make sure we had no concerns. When I first went in I met with a woman named Patty. She was beyond helpful, and was more than catering to the fact that I had no idea what I was doing. As the months went passed Patty was able to continue answering all my questions and helping me book additional details for our trip. Sometimes I would stop by Totem Travel to ask additional questions or confirm other details and even after months I would walk in and Patty would recognize me right away, ask me about how my work was going, remembering every detail that I had ever told her. When we met with Patty she asked a lot of questions, listed to us and provided us with many options. We were blown away by Patty's expertise and knowledge of all the resorts in the area. We decided to travel to The Royal at Playa Del Carmen. Once we decided on the resort Patty obtained a list of all our guests and worked with each couple to help them with their trip to Mexico! We are friends with some pretty seasoned travelers and not one of them could beat her prices. I cannot tell you how easy this made our life that Patty organized everyone's trip! As we approached the wedding date Patty was in constant communication with us and our guests. This made me and my husband feel very safe knowing she had our back. Ironically about a week before our trip there was a travel warning to this area in Mexico due to a ferry incident. Patty gave us all the details of the incident and provided us with feedback of her guests recent trips to make us feel safe. Once we arrived in Mexico we had a van pick us right up and take us to The Royal. When we arrived we felt like royalty. You cross the beautiful 5th ave shopping district and entered the most beautiful resort. I cannot stress how safe we felt in Mexico with all of the police presence and hospitality of the people. While on vacation we went on an excursion to Cozumel, Isla Muheres and The Majan Ruins at Tolum. Our wedding was the most special day and Charon (our wedding coordinator) and the rest of the staff made sure that everything was perfect. It is also worth noting that Patty had stayed at The Royal and let us know how dedicated the staff was and how prestine the grounds are. If you decide to have a destination wedding or simply get out of town for a few days I would highly recommend Patty at Totem Travel! We will be working with her in the years to come.

In particular, I always call Ann because she give us so many options for flights and flight times and opportunities. She helped clear up some oddities with flights in and out of European destinations, and has made sure that our west coat flights to pretty much anywhere were on the airlines we preferred, with the seats and price we wanted. And no pressure. If something didn't fit right, she'd keep looking. As for the rumors that travel agents cost too much, check out the extra fees you are getting when you book on your own. I'd bet they are no different. Definitely my first go-to when we are ready to head out of town!

We initially contacted this company asking if they could book our air, hotel and cruise, and let them know that our 1-year old would be traveling with us. Our primary concern was determining if a cruise would be appropriate for our 1-year old, and if so, could they help us choose the best vacation? (Seemed logical to us...we told them we wanted to spend the days playing in the pool, the evenings at the on-board entertainment, not have to plan where to get our meals, no cars to rent, etc.) All 3 of us made the trip out to their Woodinville office and met with Marybeth in person (a 3rd generation travel agent and literally incapable of making a mistake), who said that a cruise would be a wonderful vacation for our family, and recommended a specific Royal Caribbean cruise. She informed us that our 1-year old would be considered a full-priced passenger and be charged the standard "3rd person in a room" price. This seemed questionable to us, but Marybeth assured us that it was due to the fact that the ship had "extensive programming" created especially for his age group. Bonus, right? Marybeth helpfully suggested that many of her clients knew how to book their own airfare through an online site...would we like to do that as well? (Um, sure...) She also promised to look into hotels in the cruise departure city and get back to us (which she did...after I reminded her several times) so we could book a hotel online ourselves as well. We ended up doing our own research and choosing a wonderful hotel...not one of her recommendations. So, on to the cruise itself... Next to EVERY pool (including the kiddie pool with 4 inches of water) were signs posted stating "no un-pottytrained children allowed". What? Maybe Marybeth doesn't realize that 16-month olds are not pottytrained (yep, that's right, babies wear diapers), but there went her acknowledgement that we could spend our days playing in the pools. Well, at least there was the "extensive programming" designed especially for our child's age group, right? A 45 minute activity at 8am, a 30 minute bedtime story at 6pm, and...that was it. Definitely worth paying a full-priced fare for our little guy! Sure glad we booked through Marybeth, she knew exactly how to get our family the most out of our vacation! Our little guy LOVED climbing up and down the stairs, walking up and down the ramps in the cafe, and pointing at the pools that he wasn't allowed in. We would have had more fun vacationing in an office building. We spent a miserable week unable to enjoy any of the shipboard amenities that all 3 of us had paid full priced fares for. The ship staff said they had no idea why our agent booked us on the cruise, but suggested we go on a Disney cruise next time. Don't waste your time and money with Cruise Holidays of Woodinville!!!

When planning the trip, Mary listened to our needs and suggested 3-4 hotels at each place we stayed. She suggests hotels that cover a wide price range, so we are free to make the decision that suits our lifestyle and budget. The hotel was acceptable but lacked many basic amenities like drawers, ice, an iron, mini fridge or coffee maker. The location was the best part about it. Close to a large train hub and lots of restaurants. I can't rate the breakfast since it was not included (although we expected it to be). We were repeat customers but will never use this service again as there was no savings (could have just booked the hotel and flights ourselves for about the same cost) and the service was non-existent.

Throughout the journey, all the way up to stopping at Elbe on our way out, he talked our ears off, but I could listen to that guy talk all day. Took us to Fred Meyers (Kroger) on the way to the park so we could buy some lunch. Showed us all the cool spots to take photos, was very clear on times to meet back, where to go, and even gave us his phone number in case we needed it for something. Since I went during early april, there was still a lot of snow on the ground. Lucas provided all 20(or so) of us with these shoe attachments called "microspikes", which allowed us to walk on the snow/ice covered ground with relative ease. He even made it work for someone with small feet (a kid). Told us over and over to drink water & be safe and whatever else. So uh, great guy, great amenities, great info, great experience.
