I booked a long weekend at Ocean Creek with a package deal to play golf and chose this place. It's very close to the resort but it was not that great of an experience for me. There are just way too many bunkers. There are multiple bunkers guarding the greens and also fairway bunkers. There is not a lot of water, maybe 3 holes where water comes into play. They do have a nice driving range, a chipping and separate putting area as well. They have a great staff to help with your golf bag and load the cart. They have a starter and rangers who patrol the front and back to ensure pace of play. Ron and I got partnered up with 2 other singles to make a 4 some. One guy from New Jersey named John and a guy from Kernersville, NC named Mark. I asked about the signs that said 'watch for gators' and they were serious. We saw a good size gator cruising around in a large pond, see the pic I added. I doubt I would play here again just because there are close to 70 golf courses in the Grand Strand so there are a lot of options to try. read more

Played today May 19th 2026 course in great shape greens rolling true. Shot 41 but only played 9. We will never go back. The employees are rude and not very golf smart. The club house guy that checked us in might have been the biggest dick if ever encountered at a golf course. The "marshals" are aweful, and the rental equipment has been scaled back to nothing. Get rid of the staff and I'd be willing t go back, but not before that clubhouse jerk is gone. 9:24 tee time in case Arcadian Shores would like to respond. read more

the guy at the start of the tee screamed at me like I was a toddler. I'm a 31 year old grown man he was lucky he didn't get smacked in the mouth. the whole round was miserable as the ranger was on everyone's ass because they had tee times on top of one another. never will be returing and have a lot of friends and family who come from out of state to play in Myrtle beach and I will be making sure they stay far away from this miserable place that they call a golf course. Not mention no cart girl either. read more

The whole experience from walking in to pay.. the fairways were hard pan. Couldn't even find your ball in the non green fairways. The Rangers were scolding us for slow play and it was the 2 groups in front of us. We had a whole hole behind us open. They did not have Handicap flags. They want you to walk from all cart paths. Really was not a Fun day of golf. Will not be going back to play here. There are many more courses that are much better Conditions and much nicer staff. Greens and Fairways are green and Manicured as a Golf Course should be. Thanks for your time. read more

Solid golf course. Fun to play. I include this course in all my visits to Myrtle Beach.

Venting first...4.5+ hours of torture! Slowest round yet of our golf week down here from Charlotte. Ranger (grumpy guy from the start) scolded us for slow play despite the fact it was group ahead of us to whom he should've addressed! Now to the course itself! Very long! Plays longer than yardage. Too much sand and it's not the pretty white stuff! Husband is a 6 hcp and didn't enjoy the course much! I'm a high hcp but I play it forward by making my own tee box in fairway as needed (read when it makes me keep pace! Clearly the foursome in front of us didn't think of this or just pick up..2 guys and 2 gals....Did I mention they were the lead off group this morning!!!). We won't be back next trip! Too many other good courses down here! read more

It was bad. My foursome all agreed - SLOW greens and in bad shape. One compared it to a municipal course in Chicago - that's brutal. Will never return. read more

Rude bag drop attendant. No activity at the bag drop. Had to unload my clubs. After paying for 2 bags of balls there was still no one at the bag drop so I loaded my clubs on one of the 50 empty carts and proceeded to the practice area. After hitting balls for 30 min and walked back to the cart to move to the putting green, Mr. Bag drop man informs me I should not have a cart. I said no one was at the bag drop and I would be done in a few minutes. Without a word he handed my coffee to me from the cart and drove off putting the cart back up the hill with the other 49 empty carts. After putting I noticed as I carried my bag up hill to my car, there was no one at the bag drop but all 50 empty carts were smartly parked. If management is interested it was about 10:00 June 20. If you don't want to work on thanksgiving day, then don't open your golf course on thanksgiving day!!! I spent a ridiculous amount of money to play and had to deal with the course marshal badgering me from the third hole on. I'd of played faster if they just left me alone. Avoid this place at all costs until ownership changes hands!!! read more

Nice place. Fairly priced. Not to challenging but great course to start the weekend off with.

The course is beautiful which makes it a shame that I won't be back due to the stuck up staff. Customer service and friendliness was an F. Would not recommend. Oh and you better not be hungry or want to spend money on the turn, because a grilled cheese takes to long to make and puts the bar and grill over their 5 minutes time they can allot to you. How ridiculous is that? 5 minutes isn't hardly enough time to leave your cart, pee, and get back. Horribly experience for a $75 golf course you'd think they'd do better.As an SC resident I'm embarrassed that out of staters get that level of rude coming into a state that we pride ourselves in southern hospitality. read more

Forget about this place. They let 5, 6 and 7-somes on. Bunch of old men acting like Jr high girls who can't do anything that's not in a group. They have a ranger but what's the point if he doesn't do his job. This is what's ruining golf and for this course to lie about 5-somes and larger groups is what causes golf to die. Backed up stacked up jacked up. This place is a cluster...Then they lock the bathroom before people are off the course. No cart girl on back nine and they pretend to care when you call to tell them about large groups or locked bathrooms. Fine for guys to whiz wherever but not women. Horrible and don't even deserve a one star. read more

My goodness we played on a Saturday, but humidity was 96% at game time at 750 am. Very flat course, has many alligators They had just aerated the greens, so putting was bumpy. The course is in very poor shape. The fairways are weak from the lack of fertilizer and water. The traps are inconsistent with fill material that better matches packed top soil than sand. Additionally, not a rack exists on the course. Pace of play was slow but typical for a low end course. Only bright spot was the very friendly and professional lady staffing the concession bar. The course is over priced for the quality of the facility. There are much better options in the area read more

The first 9 holes were great. We only saw one other single player and he was ahead of us. Not another cart on the first 9 anywhere. It was just my husband playing so we flew through them. Then you get to 10 where they were double teeing. So we got stuck behind 5 foursomes. I have no idea why they started everyone at 10 when no one was on the first 9. Add in the dirty bathrooms and we won't be back. It's a shame because the greens were beautiful. read more

Played as a single on a Thursday morning. Nice course, starter was very helpful as it was my first time playing the course. Got paired up with 2 very nice players whoe were also visiting MB and playing the course for the first time.. Course is a nice layout, challenging but fair. Very nice conditions as well. First nine played very fast, just under 2 hours. Second nine was a little slower, as there was a group starting on 10 as we were making the tour. This is the only reason I did not give the full 5 stars. Still finished in about 4 1/2 hours though. Staff in pro shop, snack bar and on course were very friendly and did not make you feel like you were bothering them if you had a question. Will definitely play again the next time I visit Myrtle Beach. read more

Everyone from the bag staff to the starter/rangers seemed to be in a huge hurry and were, at times less than professional and curt. One of our foursomes played the front 9 in 2 hours and 4 minute, got food to go from the concession stand and was met by the ranger who told them " you have to go; you're a hole and a half behind". The ranger was also rude when one of groups put 2 tires of their cart slightly off the path to make room for him and said " keep all 4 tires on the cart path; we've put fertilizer along the sides of the cart path", yet he had 2 tires off as well. Then, prior to leaving, one of our group expressed our disappointment with your staff and the way some of us had been treated and his response was " Sorry you feel that way ". Sounds like spending some money on customer relations training as opposed to fertilizer might be a wise strategy. read more

This is the second week in a row our foursome has chosen Arcadian Shores, and we couldn't be more impressed with condition of this course. Considering the weather in Myrtle Beach the last 14 days, it's AMAZING what they've been able to maintain in the tee boxes and fairways. The greens are rolling true, consistent, and as a nod to the groundskeepers, (as well as the other players), they're clean and well-maintained. I would be remiss to not mention the most accommodating, sweetest, and available Cart Operator on the beach. Maureen "The Dream" is worth the greens fees and makes the experience one to look forward to. Be sure to ask if she has any specialty concoctions she's prepared, and be sure to add your favorite bourbon to her Hot Toddy. It will make your round. Play there. Tomorrow. Rangers do not do anything . We went at 2 in the afternoon and course was packed every single hole . Made the turn and 3 groups were on a par 4 and nobody even teed off . Rangers went passed 4 times did not do anything . Also we schedules a 2 someone and when we went to the starter he was a jerk and forced us to play with another guy . Overall staff is rude and awful and pace of play was so slow once again. They need to stop overbooking because this is ridiculous read more

The staff has no respect for paying customers. I tried to use a rain check the previous day at 3:15 pm on sat. There were no players on #1 or #2. 'Jay' told me they'd closed their sheet and no one was going play. They were flippant in all communications and had no desire to accommodate their paying customers. Do yourself a favor, find a better place to play. read more

We stay right off Lake Arrowhead and this I have passed this course a hundred times without giving it a thought. Never really saw a crowd on the course and it looked beat up. This year, I heard good things and we tried it. I am sure glad we did. For $50 for early morning tee time, we were treated to a course that was in terrific condition and not impossible like so many of the courses on the Grand Strand. Arcadian plays very long, but is forgiving with large fairways. True, there is sand on every hole, but it isn't guarding the hole every time. The water on the holes make it challenging, but not impossible. We played a round with another 2 people in just over 4 hours which was great. I would definitely do this course again and being that it is so close to Shore Drive, it makes that after golf drive to the beach that much shorter. read more

Definitely would come back and play this course again. Really professional and knowledgeable. Forgot my Oakley's on the cart and realized it about an hour later, called the course and told the pro, said they were there at the desk took my name and the next day went back and got them, anywhere else I am sure they would have come up missing for good. Starter was non-existent. He refused to move from his leaning post to help in any way, and offered nothing more than a grunt and finger-point in the direction where I should go. More expensive than much nicer courses in the area. Course itself was in rough shape. No water on the course. All water dispensers were empty. Nobody around to ask for water. Played Arcadian Shores several times and it has always been in great shape. The greens, and fairways are always cut well. The staff blows the leaves off each day. About the staff, it's the best. They are friendly,knowledgable and accommodating. The guys handling the bags and carts are top notch too. I'll play here every time I'm in MB, and I'm looking forward to the new clubhouse. read more

Played the course many times during the last 30 years. Always enjoyable. Course drains well which is a big plus, given beach weather Greens are fast and seem to chance daily. Very lovely golf course .Challenging enough but fair.As always , if you hit it well ,you can score. If you don't, you could find trouble.The greens were excellent. I had one of my better putting days here. They were plush and had some speed,not like the patchy ones I play on .Water comes into play so have a few extra balls and there are always a few bunkers to guard the greens. A good sand wedge is an idea as Many greens are elevated . The pace of play was excellent and the staff courteous. I would play here again .The whole feel of the course was nice. Trees ,water ,birds and some of the strangest looking squirrels around. I am a twenty handicapper and play from the whites. read more

This is an overpriced goat ranch. Fairways are terrible greens have inconsistent grasses throughout them. And the staff is full of excuses for why the course is the way it is. I have played this course every year for at least the last 25 years and have never seen it this way. I've played it for my last time. Everyone would be better to stay away And let them blow the place up!!!!!! read more
