We really enjoyed our dinner. Very cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We loved the St. Patricks Day decorations and Irish music playing. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Chicken parm, Greek salad, chicken salad, and fries were delicious. I enjoyed the pear margarita. I had trouble choosing something from the menu and specials because I liked so many of the options. Also, menus are not paper like an old review said. We came at 9:30pm on a Friday for a family dinner with our teen and felt comfortable even though there's a bar. We flew in from California and stumbled upon this spot for dinner. They were having a comedy night, that was pretty cool. We were a party of six and ordered fried mozzarella, pork chops dinner, chicken rigatoni Alfredo, and chicken parmesan dish. The dishes each came with a salad. A little divey, but I like that. And on top of that, we had incredibly friendly service and good food. They are getting five stars, just because everyone who works there is so nice. We had my baby with us and he was passed out in his stroller, and eventually woke up. Everyone who works there was very kind to us and made sure we had room for the stroller at a table in the back. The fried mushrooms were delicious. There is cold beer on tap. And I had a salad, which was very good. My dining companion had the lasagna and he liked his meal, as well. We have come here for breakfast several times and been happy with our meals and the service. The waitresses in the morning are always kind and very attentive. The menu isn't overly extensive, but it offers all the breakfast staples (eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, toast, etc.). Although it is not on the menu, they also have waffles (which is my go to meal!) Don't get me wrong, there is nothing fancy about this place, it is a bar in downtown Canton, but it is equivalent of a small town diner. An average, no frills cafe. We went on First Friday because no restaurants around had a wait less than an hour. We squeezed by dozens of people to get to the smallest booth I've ever sat in. The menu was LITERALLY a piece of paper that looked like it was typed up by a 5th grader, which had about 5 different options. The service was kind of rushed and not very welcoming. I understand they were busy, but still. I was not impressed. I ordered a burger with fries. The thing that keeps this from a 1 or 2 star review is that the burger was actually surprisingly pretty good. If I was rating just the burger I would give it 4.5 stars out of 5. The food is average, the service is average, and the cleanliness of the joint leaves somethign to be desired, though not dirty or unsanitary. On my last visit both the iced tea and ginger ale tasted something awful. The appetizer sampler was a mixed bag depending on your taste buds and for the most part the food was good, but not great. it's a grade up from high school cafeteria food. If you're nearby and need a place to go eat, Arcadia Grill will serve it's purpose. If you want something special, keep walking. read more

As my eyes wandered the negative reviews, I felt like a modern-day Odysseus washed ashore on the island of Calypso. Who do I believe? What can I do? I was lost. But alas, Nathaniel H.'s words brought me home to Ithaca. Behold our Yelp god. Arcadia Grill is awesome so long as your expectations are appropriate. If you stroll in there like you own the town with delusions of grandeur that you're going to get a steak perfectly seared by Ghandi himself, then you will be woefully disappointed. This is Canton, Ohio, and you can take your fancy-pants hipster attitude out of there. But if you walk in with an innocent hope for friendship, good times, acceptable food, charming service, and delicious Christmas ale, then my lad/lass, you will be one with the world. Description in one word: Odd It looks like, from the outside, that Arcadia could be a cool place, and it could be, but it is not. I had a late lunch and it was possibly one of the weirdest dining experiences of my life. The food was not bad, actually a pretty good cheeseburger, but the whole vibe of the place was off. When I walked in I noticed a couple of old fellows sitting at the bar, not odd, but then I realized they were watching soap operas while drinking PBR! WTF? I can't really describe the strangeness of my time inside Arcadia... I'm not easily creeped out, I have spent some time in some real sleazy places, but this place for whatever reason gave me the willys. Food was decent, service was okay, but the waitress gave off the same type of vibe that the whole bar was giving off. The price was good. We didn't get offered any drink refills without stopping her and asking after about ten minutes of having empty cups, she also never stopped to ask how our food was. There's been a lot of strong language used on this Yelp board from people claiming that Arcadia is "a strange place to eat and drink," "odd," or "one of the worst restaurants in the country." I'm not going to dispute these accounts because that's not what I'm here to do. I'm simply going to offer another perspective and tell the story of the Arcadia Grill that lives on in my mind. It was a beautiful fall morning in Canton, the day after two of my favorite people in the world had gotten married. The city was entirely empty except for a man walking his dog in the arts district. After some early debate about whether to visit the football HOF, one of the most compelling attractions in the country, or drive 45 minutes to eat some f**cking chicken dish, our group came to a decision: we would choose friendship over venue and find a place where we could be together. It really didn't matter where we went. And that's when we found Arcadia. From the moment I walked in the door I knew it would be special. The semi-opaque windows let in just the right amount of light, signed football paraphernalia from the Steelers and Browns adorned the walls, a TV monitor in the front flashed the words "Arcadia Grill" in a variety of scripts. A woman got up from her meal to welcome us and point us to a large table in the back with the perfect amount of seats for our large group. It was meant to be. Just moments after we sat down, a lady named Becky walked over (somewhat warily) to take our order. In addition to being the mother of renowned political cartoonist Matt Bors, Becky is a very sweet person and a great waitress. Whatever you do, though, do not order the vegetarian plate around her because she will judge you. The individual experience that really encapsulated our collective one at Arcadia was that of a great friend of mine, let's call him Johnny Grames. Grames came into Arcadia with a whole bag of chips on his shoulder. He was hungover, he was tired, he hadn't gotten his stupid chicken dish that was super far away. He simply refused to be impressed by this two-bit Canton restaurant. That is, of course, until he ordered some of the best wings he'd ever tasted. After just two of those little wings, Grames looked rejuvenated and alive in a way I hadn't seen in years, maybe ever. Some other recommendations from the menu: - Joe's Firehouse Sandwich. I don't know who this Joe character is, but he knows his way around a sausage sando. The brioche bread was unexpected(ly perfect). - Spaghetti and Meatballs. Sort of a weird order. Pretty basic(ally amazing). - Chicken tenders and straight cut fries. Straight from heaven. I think what I'm trying to say here is that Arcadia Grill is a bit like jazz. If you walk through that door with rigid expectations and a closed mind, you may miss the true experience. But if you go in there with a smile and a willingness to be wooed, the music will find its way into your soul. As we spilled out of the restaurant onto Court Avenue NW, we looked at each other and savored the moment. It had been an unforgettable weekend and we suddenly couldn't have imagined any other way to end it than at Arcadia. read more

This little mom and pop joint is also a shrine to Leroy Kelly. There is nothing fancy here because they don't need it. My boss took me and a coworker here for dinner. This is his usual Saturday breakfast haunt. I can see why! The food was excellent. My boss got a pork chop that was an inch thick and looked like it was cooked perfect all the way through. I'm going to assume it was good since that was the longest amount of time I've ever see anyone silently face down into a pork chop. My coworker had lasagna which he destroyed fairly quickly and praised. I had gnocchi w/ a meatball. A meatball. One HUGE meatball. Not a GFS meatball like some small restaurants try to pawn off! Turns out my boss knows the owners and he informed us that our suspicions were right..... The marinara was homemade as well. It was thick and basil sweet, a deep red color that stuck to, NOT, not soaked up my Italian bread. It was a great meal. Oh! Well, I am surprised at the other five reviews. I'm apart of a cast of eight actors touring the Midwest, and the locals told us to eat here of all places. Actors can be especially picky about our food, especially when one of them has a dairy allergy, but this pleased everyone in our cast! The meatball sandwich ranks second amongst the 'meatball sandwich' list I've been accruing over the years. Red pepper bisque was delicious, gnocchi was found quite favorable, the eggplant lasgna was supreme, we all were especially impressed by the sauce. The people who got the regular bar food were very satisfied with the fries and the burger was found to be just okay -- same goes with the Italian sausage sandwich. This was a good place to go for lunch since the service was really fast and it was reasonably priced for how much food they give you. I got the portabella ravioli special which comes with a salad and bread. The ravioli themselves were really good but the sauce was just average. They do however; make their own pasta and salad dressing which is a nice bonus. The overall look of the restaurant was like that of a standard family restaurant, nothing special. Iceberg lettuce in the year 2013? The yellowish-white-ish "heirloom" variety native to walk-in freezers not the type with chlorophyll that seen sunlight. Iceberg lettuce stuffed raviolis. Iceberg lettuce Parmesan. Iceberg lettuce stuffed with iceberg lettuce on a bed of iceberg lettuce. Should be the bomb, looks really cool from the outside. Authentic Canton. Weird food: My daughter asked if the red sauce was spicy? Is water spicy? Freezer burn is not a flavor. This would be a great place to hole up,disappear and get drunk in but the food... Is there a kitchen? I'm a terrible cook so I know bad cooking when I taste it but I know better than to put a single slice of a beet on a heap of iceberg lettuce in a bowl and charge a person money for that. I lived in Canton for 22 years and then moved to GA. On a trip to OH for the holidays I insisted that we all go here for dinner. It wasn't too far away and we had purchased gift certificates online. I will let family decide next time. This was the absolute worse food I have ever eaten in Canton. I noticed the appetizers were bad so I simply ordered a Greed salad.
