I grew up thrift shopping and this is one of my favorite stores near my house as an adult! I'm in my twenties and I get constant compliments on pieces I snag from here for me and my boyfriend--I love telling them I got them at Arc! Store is 50% off most things on Saturdays and staff is wonderful. It's a thrift, so I don't have high expectations but the store is clean and pretty neat. I feel like this location is a bit slept on! I'm a bug fan of Alfred Dunner esque vintage and there's tons of cool embroidered blouses and dresses here. read more

This is my local ARC and the folks who work there a friendly- The clothes are nicely organized. customers leave their kids in the toy section like most of the thrift stores so it is often a bit messy- the furniture section is small. They may consider reorganizing the space- Move the furniture to the back of the store and shift the toys, board games section to that space. I feel like items are fairly priced for what the are as well. I am very grateful for this ARC read more

This post is about customer service from the current store manager. She didn't give me her name but I think it might be Karen. I've shopped here many times and have spent good money here. While shopping I was approached rudely by the manager saying I need to make sure my reusable bags remain closed for shopping. Mind you my bags were already closed. I asked her if I wasn't allowed to bring them in, she said it was allowed but they have had a problem with theft. The entire time she had an attitude about it. She didn't say this to many other customers walking in with bags I noticed. I told her they would remain closed until check out. Through my experience shopping the manager continued to follow me and my family around the store. It made me feel very uncomfortable as if I shouldn't purchase anything at all and leave. I'm not exactly sure what about my family looked as if we would steal anything, but I feel she was making an assumption as soon as we entered the store. Maybe because of my tattoos? You shouldn't treat paying customers this way and make them feel uncomfortable to shop. Especially customers that come in frequently to shop. I'm sure there is a protocol for theft which is understandable and I have to do the same at my job but to be approached in such a rude manor with so much attitude doesn't make me want to spend my money here. read more

I go thrifting a lot and have been to lots of the arcs in the area. This one is always overpacked, with unskilled pricing. I mean they want $6 for old torn up items that were less than $6 new. What May be $1.99 at a typical arc is 5.99 or more. My big concern- the reason I'm writing this review is that. I think the working conditions at this location are not good for the staff. They need help to make it a more safe place to work and make their employees better because these people do not appear to be okay!!! Idk what is going on at this arc but maybe time for a person with more power in the company to come and help them out. read more

I donate and purchase from these ARC Thrift Stores all the time. I was excited to check out this Arvada store. While I was looking through the shirts a woman caught my eyes and decided to stare at me without saying a word... almost as if she wanted to fight me on this Friday night. I said to her... how are you doing? And she just laughed and shook her head. It was at that moment that I realized that she was working and talking to her friend who was working the register. That interaction bothered me so much that I asked to speak with the manager Suzan. She never came out to address my concerns. While I will be back to the ARC thrift stores... I will never come back to this location. It's time to get upper management involved. read more

Donation staff is really rude...you can tell that they hate their jobs. Lose the attitude and maybe you'll regain my business

Let me start by saying the day shift crew seems to always be positive smiling no matter how busy the check Out line can get. The night crew seems more on edge sheldom smile and always seem to be getting chewed out by the skinny lady who works there. I hope she is not a manager cause she is not a good example of one the way I have heard and seen her talk to people if she hates her job that much why not look for something else does she come to work to release her issues on the other workers ? I'm curious that's what we customers seem to see and feel. You had 1 lady checking people out that everyone was going to as she was bagging needed change and trying to answer other employees. Another lady cashier paged who needed help and no one even came held up the line that was already around the isles, you can see the frustration in there eyes and no one answers back after a good 10 minutes the skinny female comes behind the register to get what I call hostile with the female everyone was going to about who was on break and lunch when the cashier tried to answer the question she grew even more agitated at her accusing her of letting others take a lunch in front of a long line of people which should have been more important then her issue who take a lunch. Then she see's it was busy and walks away to the cashiers in the very front and yells out to the lady cashier in the back end shouldn't you be getting out, your sift ended not sure of the time see expressed but I and several others heard her yelling from the other end how the lady cashier needs to have better time management and needed to close now very unprofessional and then she directs her like a animal follow me leaving 2 cashiers to handle a pretty long line of people needing to check out the bossy lady was really loose with her mouth for everyone to hear honestly if I was the employee I would of walked out being talked to like that infront of other employees and customers. What I observed was the skinny older lady walking with another older blonde employee going in and out of a room by the dressing room or through the double doors in the back of store I guess the 2 were to busy to help there team members leaving them to sink to go off with the blonde lady I do not personally no either of the ladies I take are in charge but I have seen both of them on several visits to the arc and the skinny one walks around bossing everyone like she is the top dog and walking back forth from back to the front yelling at certain employees. The Is atmosphere was not a very pleasant one at the arc this evening. read more

I normally really enjoy thrift shopping for clothes, but the behavior of the employees in this store is unacceptable. I was shopping for clothes, and I proceeded to go to the dressing room to try on the items. I looked on the doors of the dressing room and there was no signs saying when the dressing rooms closed, so I rang the bell, like the sign clearly stated to do, only to get yelled at by the employee. She yelled 'the dressing rooms are closed' from across the store in quite a rude way, which was definitely not needed. I hope the employees can behave better in the future. read more

Went to donate a small headboard, didn't take up any room. It was in good used shape. Took it in on a Sunday during drop off hours, guy taking donations, older guy, long scraggly beard, looked and smelled like he hadn't bathed in a week or two. He said, we aren't taking in any more furniture today. I said okay, I'll come back tomorrow. Went Monday, unloaded the headboard and put it with some other furniture already back there. As I turned to leave, same guy, same look, said we aren't taking furniture, no more room. I told him my wife shopped at ARC and said they would take it. He said, no bed frames. (It wasn't a frame, it was a headboard). Should have told me that yesterday. I left it there. He said, I'll throw it away for you. I said "whatever." Guy taking donations is court ordered to be there (community service) and rude to people giving donations. What a piece! read more

When having to escort family around thrift stores so they can find that perfect pair of shoes, Arc is not a bad place to go. The store is clean and well lit. They have a ton of stuff in a small place. It's a little bit clutter-y, but not so bad that you want to run away screaming in fear that all that stuff will come crashing down if you touch something. Ahem. This is a nice place to get clothes, especially for little kids. On one visit, we got a mountain of clothes for $30. Most recently, I got a few outfits for each of my kids for the fraction of the price if they were new. But they looked like new, which is an added bonus! I got a little hat from the Denver Zoo for my daughter for around $2. It is totally something I would have bought there for 5x that amount. And I got her a cute little dress. It probably would have been $20 new, and I got it for $4. Nice. read more

I have shopped here for a long time. And lately I have been disappointed with the entire store in general. The prices have been jacked up high. And the inventory is not as nice as it used to be. How can you charge $40 for a blanket i can get new at walmart for $15? And you got the blanket for free. I used to find great stuff here spending $100s of dollars at a time here. Now days im lucky if I find $5 worth of stuff here. I bought a ralph Lauren buttonup here for $6.99, and a dresser that was beat up for $29.99. I then went to 1 Stop Thrift Shop across the street and found the same shirt in the next size up, they had it priced $1.00 and then it was half off, I also saw a very nice dresser that was bigger then the one I bought at arc, Priced only $15.00. So I could have saved $21 shopping at 1 Stop Thrift Shop instead of Arc. live and learn I guess. ARC is no longer my go to thrift store. read more

This is a good store. It's REALLY big. I don't typically look through clothes here. I've bought lots of other houseware items from here and they've been priced very well. The people checking out have all been extremely kind. Only drawback is that there are quite a lot of items that are put out that look too worn down to be selling. I am a thrift store fan. Part of the experience is browsing through a few crappy things, and finding great treasures. This place has its share of crappy stuff, but also a few decent things. Lots of knick knacks. Dirty and broken stuff can be found on almost every shelf. Good collection of Halloween clothing. Not an amazing selection of other clothing. Waaaaay more pricey than other thrift stores. We're talking ridiculously overpriced. You will spend more than you should if you buy something there. Usually too crowded for my liking. One time I spotted a platter there that I liked. They were selling it for $10. First of all, that's too expensive for an old thrift store platter. Second of all, the original price tag was still on the back of the platter: $5!! Boo, not cool. read more

Let me make this clear from the get-go...I am not a thrift-store person. I don't like crowds or clutter, and when I go shopping I like to be in and out as quickly as possible. Today I decided to go "shopping" here. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted....maybe a tank top or two, and some bermuda shorts. I ended up leaving with a saucepan ($5), a Bundt pan ($2), and two skirts ($4 and $3). Not too shabby. The idea of wearing a tank top that may have touched someone else's woman parts was a little too weird for me. The majority of the clientele were older folks or other bargain-hunters. I saw nobody else under the age of 30. There is a good selection of dishware and trinkets, baby stuff, furniture, and (of course) clothes. The clothes were arranged by size, but that could be misleading at times because Juniors' sizes were mixed in with regular sizes, but it all worked out. read more

I FREAKING LOVE THIS STORE. Granted, I can't compare it to other Arc's in the area because this is the only one I've ever been to, but it is absolutely amazing. Fantastic items that I have purchased from Arc in the past 3 months: K2 Snowboard in great condition: $5 Women's snowboarding boots: $5 Oh-so-comfy couch in mint condition: $10 Bright gold dress (for Halloween costume): $4 Printer (with ink!): $6 Beautifully decorated steel fire pit: $10 Oh, I could go on all day. I dare you to go into this place and not find something you want for dirt cheap. I swear that we furnished the majority of our house with stuff from Arc for under $50. Go on Saturday- you'll have to deal with a crowd of bargain hunters, but most things are 50% off (depending on the tag's color). For the love of god and everything holy, just go! read more

This location has the standard massive selection of women's clothing and a larger than normal area for men's clothing. The men's clothing here seemed to be superior to that of the Broomfield ARC. Of course, that could change at anytime - so it's always worth checking several out if you're looking for something specific. In our case we were hunting down a sport jacket and found a great one here. This store seems more focused on clothing rather than housewares but there are a few aisles with dishes, cups, and other kitchen good and home decorations. read more

I am quite happy with this Arc store and here is why. 1. It's clean and that is important! 2. The prices are fair bordering on downright cheap. That's why you are shopping there, right? 3. The selection is varied and the pieces don't suck. Even though you are on a cheap shopping trip, you don't want your haul to look cheap. 4. This location is really good for furniture, books and women's clothes. They don't have a very big selection of kids clothes so if that's what you're looking for I would try a different one. They also have a very large collection of shoes for women. The overall appearance of the store seems to be clean and it doesn't smell like some of the other thrift stores. Normally, the store is amazing. I don't normally do negative reviews but I am you take a moment and talk about this. I walked in the store and the door was unlocked. I then spent the next 30ish minutes sifting through their items looking at their things. To which they then decided, at 6:30, to tell me that they were closed. I had to put my things back on the shelf and exit the building without being able to buy them. Whoever is the manager of the store I would suggest that you advise your employees to make sure that they're locking the door on time so as to not waste loyal customers time. I spent 30 minutes wandering the store and they didn't even say anything to me. For the record, I came in before closeing, just a few minutes, and passed a handful of people who worked there on the way in but no one reminded me that they closed at six. I'm a fan of the ARC chain but this location did nothing for me. The prices are crazy... $14.99 for Xmas sweaters?! I know they're trying to make money off the trend at this time of year, but this is a thrift store, not Buffalo Exchange or Etsy. I found nothing here I had to have, and it was a lot smaller than the other locations I've been to nearby. High prices, crappy inventory... I'll go to the other nearby locations. read more

Since this is one of the larger (and more populated) thrift stores in Arvada, I almost feel the review should be broken down into sections. My personal opinion on the following aspects of ARC: Clothing - for a thrift store, ARC is hard to beat. A huge selection and half the store is dedicated towards clothing. I'm happy to say that over 50% of my t-shirts come from this place, and they include lots of different brands and prints. While I don't shop for women's clothing, it looks to be the most crowded section so I figure it must be halfway decent. Furniture - another great "plus," ARC gets new furniture in every day and it is rare that I'll see the same stuff two Saturdays in a row. They have some great deals; I found a lamp that is easily $100+ brand new in excellent condition for $10. A television stand in need of a sanding and repainting for $14. A dresser for $20. A mirror table for $9. Knickknacks and random small stuff - this is where ARC could be better. I understand that it is probably impossible to keep up with the incoming daily assortment, but the prices vary wildly and seem to be overpriced (there was a scented candle for $4.99 when Wal-Mart sells the same brand and size for $6). However, there are occasionally some gems hidden in the clutter if you're willing to spend the time... But not always. Lots of stuff is in very shabby condition, too. Everything else - The checkout line always takes a long time because I've never seen more than two employees working the registers. Even when a third and fourth person are back there seemingly doing nothing besides talking, they don't jump in to help or open a new register. On a plus side, the people behind the back desk in the furniture area are always very willing to help if you ask and are straightforward about answering questions or helping load/unload. The store definitely has a noticeable smell and the dust/chemicals/whatever cause an allergic reaction if I spend longer than 20 minutes browsing the shelves. All in all an average thrift store with a huge selection; better check-out service, a cleaner environment and consistent prices would raise my rating. read more
