I've been going here for almost 5 years and really like Dr. Smith and always deal with friendly…read moreoffice staff. Somewhat recently they posted a sign in the front that if you're coming in for your wellness check and you address anything other than what the wellness check covers, you will be charged for an additional appointment. I came in for my wellness check and because I'm very healthy, Dr. Smith and I spent most of the appointment chatting, which is fine- bloodwork is great, I'm feeling fine, no issues. BUT, because I asked if he could write me a prescription for Imitrex because I get migraines a couple times a year and like to have medication on hand, I get charged for an additional appointment. The reason was that this was a new prescription. We never discussed how to treat migraines, what causes them, how to prevent them... no, this was just a straight up "Can you write me a prescription?". Because I have not met my deductible, my now "free" wellness check has turned into a $325 dollar visit. I got charged for an extra 30 minute appointment when most of my time with the doctor was shooting the breeze. I also ended up being charged for lab work that last year was not charged because it was included in the "free" wellness check. They must've decided to tag the bloodwork into the "extra" appointment I was charged for, not the wellness check. I called the office about this and they ran it by the person who deciphers chart notes and decides what gets charged. I explained everything like I just did above. The result was that, No, I have to pay the $325. No scruples and pure greed. I am so angry.

If you want to know why I am leaving a one-star review, just read Stacy J's review from June 12,…read more2026. It happened to me as well. Only difference is I got caught answering a question, versus asking one, that "wasn't covered" while at my annual preventive appointment. That mistake cost me $238, instead of $0, because I answered a question that the doctor asked me that evidently isn't a question covered under the "preventive" scope of the appointment. Let Stacy J's and my reviews be a warning. Inform the doctor you only want to discuss items covered under the "preventive" scope of the visit and nothing else. Hope that helps.

I assumed that my insurance had covered it and assumed it was taken care of since I hadn't heard anything. Come to find out, my account was filled in as "self pay" even though I had insurance at the time. Fast forward to 10 days ago when I received my very first bill where they also informed me that they would be passing my bill onto collections if I didn't pay by the 15th of December. I called and talked to Mary in billing and she said she would email me paperwork to fix it so that I was able to make payments. I agreed after she was extremely defensive because I expressed my disappointment in being billed 3 years later and right before Christmas. I never ended up revieving any paperwork and checked my email everyday for the last week. She then emailed me yesterday, with the paperwork, and said that she would be sending me to collections because I didn't send in the paperwork. I have NEVER been sent to collections in my life! I pay my bills and have never been so disgusted with the way I've been treated for the last week and a half from a business. Please do you and your family a favor and run far away from this office!

Very disappointing experience with Dr. Steve Smith at Thrive Pediatrics. During a visit for our…read moresick child, his bedside manner came across as rude, awkward, and insensitive. Upon entering the room he called my child the wrong name and sat down crossed his arms and was very nonverbally aggressive. As he was leaving, he made a judgmental comment about us not coming in for wellness visits and implied we shouldn't remain patients unless we did. It felt completely inappropriate during an already stressful situation. Parents deserve compassion and respect when seeking care for their children, and unfortunately that was not our experience. It's very disappointing as we've had otherwise great interactions with the nurse practitioners and other physicians at different locations. I do not recommend Dr. Smith and we will not see him again. It gives me pause to continue bringing my family to Thrive Pediatrics and I will likely not recommend this practice based on this experience.

Not only did the medication that she gave me not work and made me feel very sick , but I couldn't get the laser treatments on my face because I was taking them. I didn't know until I walked in to get the laser treatments. Brandy has done an amazing job working on my skin since then ... which is why they get 4 stars. I've been working with her for years and although I haven't had the funds to work with her for the past year or so, her results have held up. My face used to look like a bright red cherry. Now I can actually go makeup free! It'a not totally healed yet but when I get the money I will go back! I think with a few more sessions I'll get where I want to be.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. What happened to my mother at this clinic was not…read morejust unprofessional. It was inhumane. My mom had an early morning appointment at Mountain Pine Dermatology's Meridian location for her Accutane prescription. She's done this process before, so she knew the steps. She simply asked the PA if she still needed to wait 30 days after her pregnancy test, given that her husband had a vasectomy. The PA didn't know, left the room, and then an assistant came in and confidently told her she could be prescribed that same day, she just needed to log into iPledge and answer a question. My mom doesn't speak fluent English, and she's not tech-savvy. She called me for help while I was at work because the clinic attached my email to her chart. I stayed on standby, ready to help her log in, while she waited patiently at the clinic. And waited. And waited. They kept telling her "we'll be with you soon," but it was completely soulless, like she was an inconvenience, not a patient. No one actually tried to help. No one explained anything clearly. She waited quietly and respectfully for hours, trusted their word, and when they told her, "we'll call you later," she believed them and went home. They never called. She had to call them twice and both times, all they said was "we don't know yet" and they'd "call her back." They never did. But here's what really shows their utter lack of care. Assistant wrote on her chart, "Language barrier - don't know if she understood." Are you serious? You knew there was a language barrier. You were not sure if your patient understood instructions about one of the serious medications in dermatology and you didn't use your translation services? You didn't take the time to clarify? You just let her leave and hoped it wasn't your problem anymore? This is medical negligence, plain and simple. When I went in person to talk to them, both the nurse manager and the administrator acted like I was the problem. Cold. Dismissive. Not an ounce of empathy. I calmly asked the administrator how she'd feel if her own mother someone who struggles with English was treated this way. Her response? "I need to ask you to leave." That's it. No apology. No accountability. No shame. Let me be clear, my mother was not difficult. She was not loud or demanding. She's one of the sweetest, most polite people you'll ever meet. She sat there quietly while the staff at this clinic treated her like a burden. This clinic failed her. Completely. If your mother, your grandmother, or anyone you care about doesn't speak perfect English, don't bring them here. They will not be treated with respect, dignity, or basic decency. And to the staff who saw this happen and did nothing you should be ashamed.
