I grew up on capri and j and s pizza in the heights. Capri is one of the coziest family owned spots…read moredoing it how they always have. Just right! I love any gnocchi dish and I'm always getting an extra cheese pizza. One of my fave menu items though is the spaghetti pizza and I'm so overdue for one!

Because we wanted to support a small business in the community that we live in. My personal hope was that it would improve somewhere along the way .My family and I have had horrendous service especially the past three times so unfortunately we will not be going back. Maybe only to order takeout. I will tell you about the past two times. My husband and I walked in on a busy Saturday evening with no reservations (silly I know). Everybody that worked in the whole restaurant walked past multiple times without saying a word. I guess everyone else thought that someone else said greeted us or asked how many. No exaggeration, we stood there for 20 minutes before a bus boy even ask how many. He said he just had to clean a table. He sat us down eventually and I could see/hear a server yelling at the young teen demanding to know why he sat her. He came over to get our drink order and I asked if she was mad that he sat us. He kind of mumbled something and I said,"Well,, if she doesn't want our business then we can just leave." My husband left it up to me and we got up and walked out because at this point I already had a bad taste in my mouth .Having been a server for over 10 years myself I was very offended by this treatment. We are very easy to take care of and are good tippers so she missed out on probably $20 right there. Your staff could say Buddy "I'll be with you in a minute." That would even be better than outright ignoring your customers standing there waiting to give you their business... The very last time we went, I made reservations for my family of four at 6:45 on a Friday. We arrived at about 6:40. Again, every worker in the whole restaurant walked past without acknowledging us. After about 10 minutes a bus boy asked how many. I said four and that we had reservations for 6:45. He didn't say anything and walked away. I could see at least two empty and clean tables on both side sides of the restaurant. At 7:05 I asked the same bus boy what was going on. He said they were just waiting to clean a table, and as I previously stated there were already clean tables. A party came in behind us and another bus boy asked right away if that was the rest of our party. I pretty much said no and that our whole party was here waiting already and that it was just the four of us and we had a reservation for 6:45.He said something about this is why I should've asked you myself. He told us(at 7:10) to follow him and took us to one of the empty booths that had been open the whole time we were standing there. He apologized profusely and then got our drinks. The server that we had wasn't very friendly but took our order right away. The bus boy brought our soups and salad, got us refills, took our dirty plates, and got us boxes. I feel as though he should've gotten the tip seeing as how the server only took our order and dropped the check off. Your bus boys are wonderful and keep your restaurant running smoothly.

It almost feels like you discovered something you weren't supposed to find. The menu is just as random as the location -- sandwiches, tacos, salads, and small plates. It sounds chaotic... but somehow it works. But at botL, the cacio e pepe is king. Yes, that cacio e pepe. The infamous Roman dish with so few ingredients that it has no right delivering this much flavor. It's simple food that exposes bad technique instantly... and botL absolutely nails it. They don't mess around either, even incorporating the hollowed-out cheese wheel. Sure, it might look a little showy... but when it tastes this good, who cares? I added the blackened shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. Perfect seasoning, perfect texture, perfect addition. Sometimes the best meals come from the most unexpected places... and botL fits that bill perfectly.

Maizy, Lydia, attention to our service, Simone (chef) and Tom greeted us with smiles and welcomes! I never choose for anyone but said I'm ordering our entrees! Cacio de pepe with filet tips atop. Wedge salad, wedding soup, and stemmed glass martinis and cabernet with dinner! Oh, brûlée cheesecake with a birthday candle was perfect ending! We arrived later than planned and happily closed the place down. We never felt rushed to go!!! That's an exceptional quality! I love it here and so did they! Resers best especially during prime time and days, but the bar is fun too! Some side parking and neighborhood street parking! You can thank me later!

Five Stars: Breakfast Bliss at Freedom Square Diner!…read more Listen up, breakfast lovers of the Greater Pittsburgh area - if you haven't made the pilgrimage to Freedom Square Diner in Natrona Heights, you're doing brunch wrong. This place is the real deal, and I'm about to tell you why you need to go (but maybe get there early) The Good News: Pretty much everything on the menu slaps. The Bad News: Everyone else knows this too, so prepare to wait. But hey, good things come to those who wait, right? Let's talk about my current obsession: the Steak Benedict with cottage fries. First of all, cottage fries = deep-fried seasoned home fries, which is basically the most beautiful thing I can imagine. But the star of the show? That perfectly cooked steak, those just-right poached eggs, and the toast underneath that's absolutely swimming in steak juice and hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise is chef's kiss - not too thick, not too runny, just absolute perfection. This dish is a religious experience on a plate. The French toast is another winner. It used to be thicker (maybe Italian bread?), and while it's a bit thinner these days, it's still absolutely delicious. Sometimes change is okay, folks. My wife is a creature of habit and always orders the Farmer's Breakfast - four eggs (yes, FOUR), her beloved ham slice (she could get two different meats but she knows what she wants), and home fries loaded with peppers and onions. Pro tip: you're going to need extra toast for this beast of a meal. It's hearty, it's filling, and it's everything a breakfast should be. Dad's go-to is the create-your-own omelette, and he's never been disappointed. Honestly, we've tried a ton of different things here over multiple visits, and we have yet to find anything on the menu that misses the mark. The portions are generous and the prices are more than fair - you're getting serious bang for your buck here. Now, let me tell you about the X-factor that made our most recent visit absolutely stellar: Diane. This legend came in on her day off and served us like we were family. She was funny, kind, attentive, and just made the whole experience that much better. Service like hers is what turns a great meal into a great memory. Diane, if you're reading this, you're a rockstar! One tiny caveat: For the love of all that is holy, do NOT order water. I'm pretty sure they're pulling it straight from the tap while the fountain drinks taste great. The water is... not good, y'all. Please, Freedom Square, invest in a filter for the water! Your food is too good for your customers to be choking down questionable H2O. Bottom Line: This is our go-to breakfast spot, and it should be yours too. Yes, you'll wait. Yes, it's packed. But it's packed for a reason - the food is consistently excellent, the portions are huge, the prices are right, and when you get a server like Diane, it's the whole package. Just maybe bring a water bottle from home. Highly recommend! We'll definitely be back (as soon as we work off this food baby).
