It's the same ordering process as we experienced in Manteo with the order being taken at the counter, then you pay and then the food is brought out to your table if it's a hot sub but any cold subs are done before you pay. One more weird thing about the ordering process both here and in Manteo. When we order the meatball sub there is always this pause from the staff and the need to check if they actually have any meatballs available regardless of the time of day. I don't get that. If it's on the menu, it should be available. By the time the meatball sub actually got to the table the person with the Italian was nearly finished. Yeah, it was that long. Second was that everything was beyond messy. Meatballs-sauce-sauerkraut-oil-vinegar-steak meat everywhere. It was as if the food was made by someone with a blindfold on or during some severe seismic event. Whatever profit the store made on our order was partially wasted on the amount of napkins we burned through. The one, and I suppose the only one that matters, thing that is most important is that everything tasted great. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold and everything was made the way we asked in terms of toppings. With the slow implosion of Subway very much in progress, Jersey Mike's while far more expensive, is a much better alternative if you're going to go the chain sub route.
