Will still try…read moreto accentuate the positive, such as the large parking lot, good prices and the pleasant employees. Again went with a group of friends, 8 of us. Same table in the bar area. Very busy at the bar with golfers taking a break. The grill has been renamed Jack's Grill. It's a long walk from the front of the building to the rear where we were headed. Carpet in the hallway and rooms off the hall desperately need replacing--dingy looking. Bathrooms are on either side of the front door of the building. (I understand there are more bathrooms in the locker rooms.) Anyways, the ladies room was not clean. The floors haven't been scrubbed -- really scrubbed -- in a long time. I nudged one dried spot on the floor and I think it was hardened gum. Now to the food and service. Our waitress was pleasant and accommodating. My one complaint was that she stood at the head of the table to pass some of the beverages and plates down. There was plenty of room around the table for her to walk the plates and glasses to each customer individually. Big helpings. The couple across from me ended up eating their sandwiches with a fork because they (the sandwiches!) were too thick to comfortably pick up and eat. My dining companion struggled to pick up his huge sausage sandwich and then didn't dare put it down until he was done. I noticed the diner who got clams had two huge pieces of bread on her plate ~ enough for 3-4 people. The Reuben sandwich and the chicken sandwich on the menu sounded good, but I finally decided to go for a salad topped with grilled chicken. I asked for Italian dressing on the side. Was pleased that the waitress remembered and it came in a small plastic container with a lid. Just a tiny amount of dressing--oil, vinegar, herbs--very bland and barely covered the huge amount of large chunks of greens on my plate. Four or five each cherry tomatoes and black pitted olives, some shredded purple cabbage, lots of sliced red onion. I ate the cherry toms and the black olives, gave away the red onion, and nibbled at the lettuce and cabbage. Wish the lettuce had been field greens, at least part of it. What should have been the crowning glory to the salad was a grilled chicken breast. It did come complete with grill marks and was already cut into manageable sized slices. It had been cooked just past the point of perfection and was a little tough, darn! Plus, whatever was used to season it tasted great except that it was too salty!! Not inedible salty, but pretty darn close, and definitely not good for my sodium level. Maybe yesterday was a fluke. I have no desire to go back, but maybe in a year. However, if they've changed the name again by then, no way!

I love food trucks! I've tried food from a lot of different food trucks... from all over the…read morecountry. And I reeeeeeeally wanted to love the food at My Eva. But you know what? I just... didn't. I've been following them on Facebook for a while, and I finally timed things so that I was free from meetings and could drive over to their location to grab lunch that day (sidenote: I was also at my intermittent fasting window... which meant I was READY to get some tasty food!). I found the My Eva truck at the location noted on their Facebook page for that day, approached the truck, checked out the menu, and ordered a couple different items to sample: a chicken quesadilla, nachos with pork, and 3 al pastor tacos (not the combo, just the tacos). While it felt like service was slow, I'm actually not deducting stars for that. I had read on their Facebook page that they were understaffed and asking for patience, so I expected some delays. Also, a member of the team had asked what car I was in when I ordered and offered to bring the food to my car so that I didn't have to wait in the rain. Wanting to support (somewhat) local, I also provided a 25% tip on my order... which, having now tried the food, feels overly generous. Sadly, I've just never tasted any Mexican food that was so... lacking in flavor. The chicken quesadilla was more oily on the outside than anything (I only ate 3 bites), the pork on the nachos was super fatty/rubbery (couldn't finish the nachos), and there was very little *to* my al pastor tacos (why not throw some *actual* pineapple in there? Or provide different options for salsa... as opposed to watered down hot salsa, etc... and also, flour tortillas that didn't seem stale? That would help). Everything just missed the mark. So disappointing. Maybe something's gone awry due to the staffing issues? I have no idea. I just know that if my food today is indicative of anything, then I won't be back. While I appreciate the pleasant service, there are a lot of other restaurants out there that can offer both pleasant service + quality food. In my experience, My Eva isn't one of them... so I won't be returning. I hope other folks have better lunch with food from this truck than I did. :-/
