My son is 16 months old. Been bringing him here since birth. Friday morning he has a fever of 102 and symptoms of a cold/ runny nose. So I took him just because I thought 102 was really high. Waited 45 minutes to see a doctor and all I was told once seen is just to wait it out over the weekend and come back Monday. Well now it's Monday, fever hasn't gone away and now my baby is shaking and turning blue/ purple. So I take him right away, but I get told that this is normal during a fever and to just come back Wednesday.. so I went twice just to be told to come back a few days later. I addressed this with Dr. Wells and his response was "yeah that's what we do here". Not very professional in my opinion and will never bring my kid back here again. read more

I used to see Dr Wells as a child now I am taking my son there. I have never had issues with Dr Wells he has always been a great doctor. The office took my son in right away after switching from another pediatrician they were patient and caring and did not pressure me to give my son the flu shot like my other sons pediatrician did. They asked questions, they showed me on a chart where my son was for his age and gave advice on what we should do on other issues brought up. I will be taking my new son here as well. Only thing I would like to see are more kid wall decor I think that always makes a kid feel a little more comfortable my son lives to look at wall stickers of cartoons. Needs to be more kid oriented in the actual rooms. But not really an issue. It's a clean place and well organized. read more

Absolutely horrible! Once again they don't put my child's shot record in correctly I get a call saying she is behind knowing she isn't I called asked to talk to a manager they give me a supervisor. I have been taking my kids here for the past 5yrs now. An with all this covid stuff going on they should be running like they say over the phone! Went in only because I was told my child needs shots. Well that was WRONG! They said oh he dont need shots! WTH who ever calls should know what they are scheduling for! When the medical assistant called us back she said oh only one parent can come back, that was not stated over the phone. If thats the case the waiting room should not be packed full of people! I recently took my children in to get their first Covid vaccine. I took them on a Saturday and was so pleased to see the energy and hope that was provided during that visit. From meeting us outside with balloons and streamers, to smiling faces inside. It really helped the kiddos feel as they were part of some thing big, special and exciting. They handled their vaccines with smiles on their faces and did wonderful after. I actually visit the Laveen office but didn't see a separate entry on Yelp. What a great office! Clean and beautifully decorated, which I know shouldn't matter but it definitely creates the ambience. Customer service is excellent from the entire staff. I used to drive almost 30 minutes to see my sons pediatrician because I really enjoyed her but I am glad I switched and that his doctor is only 5 minutes away! read more

Took my baby there 5 days post birth. I was concerned about him having a tongue tie so I talked to the pediatrician and asked her to evaluate. She looked and said nope it's perfect and told me two things to get to try. Now, three weeks later, he's currently healing from a tongue and lip tie. The Dr. that did the procedure said it was the worst a tongue tie could get. Because of this, I'm now having to work extra hard to build up my supply for breast milk because it's been severely hindered from this office not paying attention to me. Also, was told I have no say in his vaccination schedule and this office probably wouldn't fit us which was the best thing they could have told me. This is a wonderful office with fantastic doctors! I highly recommend this practice. Their new Avondale office is really nice and I love the ocean theme and so do my kiddos. There are some bad reviews but if you read them, they are from parents who don't agree with this pediatric office's policy on vaccines. This is a hot button issue right now and I understand some parent's frustrations with it but you can't rate a practice that you've never actually visited. The doctors at this office really make it a great place so don't let those reviews keep you from giving them a fair try. read more

I don't leave reviews often but this one felt necessary. My son has been sick and there were signs that started to worry me. I brought him to the office two times within one week. If I bring my son back a second time it's because I'm concerned things aren't getting better. At this point I'm expecting further action. At both these appointments my sons oxygen was checked. My major issue is shortly after the second appointment my son ended up at urgent care and then the ER due to his oxygen levels. How does that add up? Feels like the inconsistency should've been noticed at the appointment. Would've save me the shock of what was to come. Instead I'm in a shock watching my sons oxygen drop very fast and very low. I didn't tend to question things or cause a fuss because you're supposed to be able to trust your pediatricians and that's what I did. Now I feel like I can't even do that. This whole experience was traumatizing for me as a mother and more importantly traumatizing for my son. read more

Omg where do I start well my oldest is now 25 and about 5months prgos and has already grabbed her new born packet from MVP. Her first Doctor was Dr. Broughton oh and at her first well visit Dr.Wells. 25 years ago wow.... Although doc broughton is long so retired we have carried on in this office I have since had five more children. Now 21, 19,12,10 and 8. And we are a MVP family. I have two asthmatic boys, and one with some behavioral matters and with all the stress and worry and scary feelings that can come with asthma attacks and behavior episodes they have never ever ever treated me unkind unfair or lead me to feel harshly judged. Just an amazing staff. I love being part of the MVP family my kids use to love the "fun doctors office" over at the 51st clinic and the atmosphere is 100% kid friendly. Now they love earning their coins. If your on the edge about picking your pediatrician for your new baby. Well look no further 25 years and I have not one complaint. Not one!! read more

This office is awesome. They have always gotten us in and out quickly. Dr. Grassl is efficient and friendly. She is supportive and kind. Our toddler has always felt comfortable with her. She was supportive of breastfeeding and baby led-weaning. I also love that this office does not allow unvaccinated patients, according to their website. That's a great policy to help protect my child, as well as the separate "sick" and "well" entrances. I have and will continue recommending this office to anyone who asks! read more

This office does not care about patients!!! I called to make an appointment for my son, I asked about a telehealth appointment and was told I could only do that if he had Covid or pending test results, he came home sick from school with rashes all over his body and we tested for Covid, I called back to set up an appointment and spoke with Nicole, Susan Brown, Luz, Beth and Rachel, who all denied me an appointment, I stated he was Covid positive and was really sick, every time I would call they placed me on hold on purpose for long periods of time and eventually would just answer and hang up repeatedly. I have documentation of each call, I did not raise my voice once or use any inappropriate language but they said they would not speak with me to set up appointment due to my "behavior". I finally tried calling just to get medical records to take him to a different physician and again I called 14 times and they would just answer and hang up without speaking with me. I have started a lawsuit process for denying my sick son care, his Covid test did come back positive. I had been taking my kids there for 8 years and I work in healthcare, I was actually recommended there by my friend physican who is friends with Dr. Broome. Susan Brown claimed to be the "chief operating officer" but refused to provide me the Covid policy for the telehealth services and refused to set up an appointment for my sick son, she talked down to me and hung up the phone aggressively, told the rest of her staff not to answer my calls so I wouldn't be able to get him care. I told them I had contacted my attorney and needed that policy and they refused to provide it. In the end they answered to tell me that I needed to go on the website to request records to send them to a different physician. This office does not care about our kids health, Stay away from this office. Physicians were great but if you can't make appointments it's not worth the trouble. read more

If I was able to rate this place in the negatives I would. I have worked with kids and of course managements before but the management of this place is beyond horrible. I worked here for about a month and it was constant frustration and constant singling me out. I was told I was constantly slow and that I did do things fast enough and when I asked for an explanation I wouldn't receive one. I told them I would not manhandle a child because that is wrong to hold them down when they are screaming. I called a meeting with management due to constantly being singled out and being picked on and not treated equal and stated clear as day facts to them and then 3 hours later I got called into the office and got fired. I would not take your kids here. They are just about the money and getting as many kids seen as possible for the profit that's why they don't give you the time of day in the room. Great place to take your children! When I walked in I wasn't greeted or acknowledged, but I proceeded to greet the front desk myself as it was my first time there. Ohh I also like that there are two entrances one for sick children, and the other for well. But anyways the ladies at the desk were informative on what needed to be done before being seen. Not a long wait they see you right away I liked that most. The nurses, and our doctor were very kind the answered all my questions. They are really fast at giving vaccines we were in & out within an hour. I would recommend this place to anyone with children you can tell they really do care about your child's well being !! read more

The physicians at all 3 locations are very knowledgeable, thorough and have your child's best interest at heart. I always refer coworkers and patients to this office. The MAs are very kind and welcoming but I always find myself informing them ahead of time that my son has non-verbal autism as they try to take his vitals. One time I did not and the poor MA got in his face to attempt to take his weight and he had spit on her. I of course apologized and she did not say one word as she was mad. (Interesting to see in a pediatric environment) But hey, there should be an alert on his chart so that they are aware prior to. My only dislike is that not all staff team members are on the same page with office policies. One receptionist had told me to be there 15 min prior when I told her that I called to inform them I was running late. I was literally only 5 min late after my scheduled appt time. Then a few days later a mom walks in "sorry I'm late!" which then the receptionist says "oh no worries" mind you this is the same receptionist who brings her daughter to work and continues to do so. I had already talked to the manager in regards to this and she stated that employees are not allowed to bring their children to work. Which I personally don't mind but if you're going to in-force the rules make sure you're following them as well. Especially HIPAA. At the Avondale location they never tell you anything if you're on time or 10 min late to your appt. I also received a no show letter when I scheduled a 'sick' same day appt for my son and ended up cancelling as I took him to urgent care because I did not want to wait until noon to take him. Mind you I called and cancelled the appt but because it was only 2 hours prior she informed me that I would still receive a no show letter. It was the same receptionist who has it out for me lol. Billing also took over two months to reimburse me. She stated that the previous billing employee whom I had spoken to to submit the request left the practice. So if I had not called to follow-up, I would have not received my reimbursement. read more

I have been taking my 9 year old to MVP kids since she was born. My child has very bad asthma and is allergic to just about everything. She has been having really bad breathing and allergy issues for the last few weeks. I took her in and the results showed her breathing was very low. The doctor just gave me another inhaler (which I already had) then told me to just give her that and claritin for 30 days and come back. I asked them for something more since none of this has been working? They told me no. I also asked for a new nebulizer since hers had broke after 9 years. They told she did not need one because of her age and I told them I still would like a new one because sometimes it works better. They told me I need to contact the insurance then. The very next morning before I had to be at work my daughter had an asthma attack and I took her to Urgent care. They prescribed her a couple meds, a different inhaler and a brand new nebulizer on the spot and billed the insurance. I can not believe her own doctor was so negligent and this caused me to miss a whole day of work when it could have been prevented! I will be switching doctors after this. read more

Every time we go in for my daughters checkups we feel like family. These doctors are amazing and the facility is amazing. There are 3 entrances: sick, healthy, and infant. I recently have changed my mind about vaccines and when I went for my daughter's 4 month well check up I was asked to find a new pediatrician because that office is 100% pro vax and those are the exact words that Dr. Patton told me. My actual doctor was Dr. Wells but Patton made it clear that no one would want to see my child. All I wanted was for my decision AS A MOTHER to be respected but they or he could care less. I would not reccommend this clinic. I believe a parent's choice should always be respected but I guess this clinic is just interested in the $$$$ they are going to lose! read more

I've taken my kids to this practice for five years. I loved it and have recommended it to so many people. My kids always saw Dr Cwik and he left the practice earlier this year and we've had one negative experience after another since then. Today I had my sons well check. We arrived 5 minutes early for his appointment. I wait in line, check in and have a seat. After about 20 minutes of waiting and several people that arrived after me being called back, I go back to front and wait in line to see why there was a delay. The girl at front forgot to print the paperwork I was to fill out. She was apologetic but we didn't get called back to a room until 40 minutes after the appointment time and by then my 3 year olds patience had run out. If this was a singular incident I wouldn't be writing this review. A few months ago my son fell and hit his head and it bled a lot. I called the triage nurse and she said to bring him in even though he was acting normal, better to be safe than sorry. In that appointment I was brought back to a room right away but I waited well over an hour for a Dr to see us and it took him 2 seconds to see my son was perfectly fine. I got the impression from the Dr rushing in and apologetic that he was not even aware we were waiting. In July at my daughters well check, we were early and ended up waiting for 20 minutes or so in the waiting room until I went to front to ask about the wait and later it turns out they had mixed my daughters chart with another patient and had actually entered all the other patients height, weight, etc in my daughters chart. We waited around 40-45 minutes to see someone then too. I was ready to leave and find a new office at that point between the waiting, our Dr leaving, not being notified and not being assigned a new Doctor and bounced around. We saw FNP James Stangle at that appointment and my daughter and I both really liked him so I decided to give the practice a second chance. Today we saw Dr Shulski and he was wonderful once we finally got to see him. I love the Doctors here, I haven't met one I haven't liked but it is just not worth dealing with the front office anymore. The doctors are the reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. read more

After further research I came to the decision to have my son vaccinated never did I feel pressured to. Dr. Wells is AMAZING & extremely knowledgeable. Facility is very clean. The doctors here have never let us down - from getting us in same-day for sick appointments (sometimes even same-hour), to very promptly calling us with test results, to just being kind, fun and awesome - great pediatricians office. If you value being able to have your child seen immediately when needed - look no further. We generally see Dr. Holmgren, but also have seen Dr. Wells (loved), Dr. Shulski (awesome) and a few others - all are awesome. I have been taking my daughter to see Dr. Broome at MVP since she was born last year. I live almost 40 minutes away but choose to go to their office in Maryvale/Avondale due to their awesome reputation. I have found the experience about as good as can be. Dr. Broome is a smart, funny and outstanding pediatrician with an extensive knowlege of pediatric disease. The nurses are caring and love my little girl. It shows when they have to give her vaccines how quick and professional they are, and how much caring they show to her after. I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to see anyone, and they have a nice clean waiting room that is separated sick nonsick kids to help reduce the spread of colds. I couldn't be happier with my experience here. I am offended by a previous review, a parent upset that the group will not see unimmunized kids. I prefer not to put my child at undue risk because of the actions of selfish uninformed people. I am happy to know that the other kids my daughter plays with in the office are immunized. Also it is ignorant to think pediatricians are "money hungry" as reimbursement rates for vaccinations are notoriously low and decreasing. Overall I love my experience is the very best it could be, I love the staff, Dr. Broome, and I am so happy they are taking care of my daughter! read more

I had to switch over because of insurance change purposes. After having our previous pediatrician for 11yrs, it can be a difficult transition. I tried a different office & didn't like it or feel comfortable at all. I then found MVP kids care on yelp. So far I've been here twice at Avondale location and I must say I love it!!!!! I'm called in shortly after I arrive, the doctor is in right away and is very informative. Staff is very attentive. So far so good!!!! read more

My friend referred me to this facility. Good front desk staff. The doctor's are not kids friendly for a pediatric. Did not even "try" to build rapport with my little one. As soon as he walked in the room, he was strait to business. I also explained to him that my daughter was terrified. During my second visit, same treatment. After my visit, my daughter's symptoms were not getting any better, I called and left a message for him to call back. Going now on two weeks, and no return call. I took my daughter to an urgent care instead and I got the best treatment ever. read more

I really do like the place...but I have been going thru medical treatments and unable to pay the bill. They refused to vaccinate my then 12 month old baby...now she is 1 yr n 1/2 n still hasn't received her shots. I had to skip a treatment to pay the bill to have her croupe checked out. read more

Today, I had trouble even being put on hold, the phone would just go silent and wouldn't put me on hold, so I redialed a few times. They need to figure out a different telephone system, if they can't handle the call volume in a timely manner. read more

I just called to schedule two new patient appointment. The CSR explained they were booking 3 weeks out, which was not a problem. After being on hold for 15 minutes she got back on the line and explained that since I have two children and they both are needing same day appointments they can only schedule them for two different days, 12/12/16 and 12/14/16. I asked if there was anything later in the month so that I can bring them in together? She said only if I paid a $50 security deposit today. I politely declined. Personally this was beyond uninviting and not very helpful. I cooled down and called them back because I need an office with there hours. When I called back I spoke with a different CSR and she was much more helpful, she explained I did not have to pay anything today however, I would have to provide a CC # incase I did not show. I completely understood and setup the appointments for both of my children. She got all of my contact and insurance information and explained she would not run the card unless we did not show, in all the call lasted about 30 mins. I'm assuming she was checking my insurance. She explained I would get an email shortly so that I can fill out my children's information. The 1st call was not inviting, but the second call was much better. She made me fill like they wanted my children as patients and seemed to go above in beyond to get the needed information to successfully schedule their appointments together. read more
