His sub contractor got through about 2/3 of the project before apparently storming off. I was actually getting angry phone calls from the sub contractor demanding payment for a job not finished. I'm not sure what was going on behind the scenes, but it wasn't looking good. Chuck did sorta finish the job himself, but it was a thrown-together effort with lots of promises to follow up and complete tasks later...but none of that ever happened. To complete the job, he wanted more money. I paid it because I didn't think any more work would be done otherwise. If you have an alternative contractor, I'd say go with them.

I hired Painting the PNW to repaint the doors and trim in our home. The first job was finished on…read more8/17 and looked fine at first, but within days the paint could be peeled off with a fingernail. Our carpet installer flagged it during his work. The crew later told me in person that they only wiped the surfaces with alcohol and didn't prime over the existing oil-based paint. They came back to redo the work, but the rework left sanding dust and paint chips throughout the house, including on new furniture and in the bathrooms. A used sanding pad was left on our newly installed stair carpet. Doors were left off their hinges and surfaces unfinished. I asked them to take the doors off-site to protect the new carpet, and they chose not to. Communication then fell apart. A scheduled morning of work was a no-show, calls and texts went unanswered, and a meeting to discuss remediation was cancelled. The owner's company referred the matter to their liability insurer, which denied the claim. They then told me they were shutting down and would perform no further work at our home. I paid in full and am left with unfinished doors and trim, visible finish problems, and a house that still needs professional cleaning. I'd recommend getting any painter's prep and priming process in writing before work starts.

WARNING! DO NOT HIRE SHORELINE CONCRETE. I hired Shoreline Concrete back in 2008 to waterproof…read morethe side of my home. They did the work but when restoring my concrete staircase, they poured during a torrential rain. Concrete splattered all over my siding and the concrete hardened horribly. It looked like 5 yr olds had done the job. They said they would fix it but in their attempts, they messed up even further by cleaning it with acid which whitened the concrete. While I was at work, they took the initiative, without even asking me and poured a polymer coating over the staircase. In the first 6 months it cracked and the whole side of my house now looks horrible. The polymer coating is breaking down and they essentially ruined the looks of my home. They never offered to make this right and instead tried to settle with $1200, which I never accepted. That amount would never have covered the damage to break it up, haul away and have a new concrete stairwell built. Please do not use Shoreline Concrete for anything. They are not reputable and they have no integrity. They are shady!
