We played phone tag with each other for more than a month to try to negotiate and quote what needed to be done. This was after my husband talked to the crew while they were working at a neighbor's. We advanced and had a plan. The last word we received in voicemail was that it would be about 2 weeks, as we were on a waiting list, and they would let us know when we were getting closer. Over a month later, while I was on a work call from home, I get a voicemail that they'll be there shortly. This was with no prior notice. I still hadn't heard the voicemail at the time when less than 15 minutes later, trucks and crew show up and start unloading equipment - right at naptime for my two littles. When I go out to let them know that we had no notice, that it was not a good time and my husband wasn't home, John was rude and argumentative. He said that he knew exactly what needed to be done and that most clients aren't home when they do their work. I let him know that is not how we would do business and we would find someone else to help us. They all left in a huff and sped out of our neighborhood. Oh, and I should note they showed up smoking on a windy and higher fire danger day - after John had said in voicemail that the two week (one month) wait was due in part to weather, as they couldn't work with high winds.
