Last week my husband and I took our 2009 Chevy Tahoe to this garage, that had been recommended to us, to get a headlight changed. He told us that the entire bumper had to be removed in order to change the lightbulb. He told us he charges $75 an hour and it would probably come to $150. We left and when we returned the next day to have the work done, he told us it was $100 an hour. Our bill for this mechanic was over $200 which included an inspection. We left the truck for half the day and when we returned and drove off the lot our low tire pressure light came on, and then the other headlight went out within a day. Today I took it to Kwik Kar on Campbell and asked them to please replace the lightbulb. I asked them if they had to remove the bumper and they said no. The mechanic said he had the exact same Tahoe and has never had to remove the bumper to change a lightbulb. I watched him do the work. I asked him tons of questions. He gave me the bill and it was $44 which included replacing the two lightbulbs over the license plate in which shouldn't have passed inspection by previous shady mechanic. It is very difficult to find an honest mechanic and this negative review is well deserved for this shady mechanic who just ripped us off. I immediately went back to Complete Auto Care and gave him a piece of my mind, I even told him he needed to go back to school and that he should be ashamed of himself for taking advantage of people. Went by for a state inspection and was told it would be $99.00 just to hook my car up to see if there is anything wrong with it before i can get it inspected. Just to access it? There was No one around but two guys that were obviously scamming to make a quick buck. They forgot i took my daughter's car by a week earlier ( other guys working then) that charged me $35.00 for the inspection. These guys had dishonesty written over their face. I've been coming here for my inspections and oil changes for a while now, and I realized that Yelp allows me to review businesses other than food (go figure)! First of all, these guys are honest and are friendly. I went for an oil change today and they checked all the fluids and such on the car. They physically showed me the condition of the oil, the air filter (which was horrendously filthy) and transmission fluid and asked me if I still wanted to do just the oil change. The condition of the transmission fluid was brackish so I asked them to drain it and fill it up. These are great people and they've always been honest with their pricing up front. Yeah, they'll tell you what's wrong with your car (any shop should should, if they have any decent mechanics), but I've never - in the six or seven years that I've gone there - had them do anything without me explicitly telling them to do so. Honestly, if you want to get your car maintenanced for cheap, learn how to do it yourself, but don't be surprised that the people WORKING on your car want to be paid for their WORK and not just for the parts. read more

My vehicle was misdiagnosed and this place charged me for two new keys, chip keys, and charged me $260.00. The problem was not the key, and at this time I still haven't pinpointed the exact problem. Now I'm out of money and have a vehicle that starts very randomly. Don't use Arapaho Automotive because they are only after your money. read more

I have gone here many times for oil changes and vehicle inspections. They are always friendly and fast. I've never had them do extra services without explicitly getting my approval in advance with a clear price quoted. They've even told me what service I should do next not expecting me to come back to them but just as a friendly 'hey, at your next tune up you will need to get this part replaced and it usually runs this amount.' The last time I was in there they noticed my wiper blades were not the best even though I had just had then replaced less than a year ago when some guy at Auto Zone recommended I buy new ones. These wiper blades had been really bad but it is one of those things I forget to replace until, you know, it's raining. But the guys at this shop noticed them and recommended two different types they had in stock...a cheap version that would do and a slightly more expensive set. I went with the higher priced set since the wipers I had pretty much drove me crazy for the past year. Buying the higher priced set made all the difference which shouldn't be a shock but my point is the guys gave me two options, there was no high pressure sales tactic, just here's the difference in the two types and the price. read more

Trash ass manager. The mechanic was great but the manager is a snake. He tried to overcharged for brakes after he quoted $190 over the phone. After hearing his ridiculous prices, we decided to go elsewhere. He then decides he needs to charge $50 for "taking the car apart"....BS. Even the mechanic was puzzled as to why he was charging anything. I believe the manager's name is John. At least that's what he said over the phone. Anyhow, stay away from this place unless you enjoy overpaying. Also, there were several elderly customers there. I'm sure John had a field day preying on them. read more

Do NOT go to this place, unless you feel like paying a ridiculous price for an oil change ($48) or for services you told them not to do. I told them not to do a flush (cost of $90) they did it anyway. Their compensation for not understanding what I meant when I said "no" to the flush? $20 off and waived the taxes, oh yeah and another $10 off my next oil change, like I was going to come back in the first place. Ugh... I came here because it was close to home and I needed an oil change on my car... And everything else was closed when I'm off work. Bad mistake. I pulled in and immediately as I got out one of the techs yelled 'yeah' really loud and not friendly. Said I wanted an oil change and all of them groaned. I feel for them, but seriously? It's 15 mins til closing time and its supposedly a 10 min oil change. He asks for my keys, and I handed him my keyless entry since its a Prius. Looks at me and says no, I need your key to drive the car. Umm yes, it's keyless... Oh okay. I had to go out of my way to tell them what I wanted in it. While paying, the guy inside asked how many miles are in it. I said I donno exactly, it's on the dash. He laughs and asks if I really don't know the mileage on it. yeah...it's on the dash, since I have more important things to remember I figure the car can handle that part... To top it off, the price I was expecting was 62.95 for full synthetic. Asks for 74.95. I ask why, and he answers because its a special filter. I'm thinking, seriously? Jiffy lube never charged me extra for the filter...so he throws in a $5 coupon and brings it down to 69 which is still more but I'm just thinking I need to leave. Next time, I'm going back to jiffy lube during the weekend. At least they examine the rest of my car for the same price, and less drama. read more

This place tried to rip my mom off of $500 when she went in for inspection. They pulled out the Stop/horn fuse...which caused the brake lights not to function, the transmission not to shift out of park, and the horn not to work . They weren't counting on the little old polish lady having someone like me around! These guys are crooks here.. Stay far away!! read more

Wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. Took my car for an inspection and after about 2 seconds they told me "There is a problem with my 3rd brake light and it must be fixed before passing inspection" to which I then proceeded to look out the window and watch them test my brake light (which 100% worked). I then had to show them that the brake light did indeed work. After about 10 minutes, they finished the inspection and at checkout the man remarked that " Where I'm from, the men don't let their wives handle these sorts of tasks. The men take care of everything". To which I replied that it was none of his business what my husband and I choose to do and how he doesn't know the first thing about myself or my husband's schedule. I found it to be incredibly disrespectful. I will never be coming to this place again. read more

I've been here many times. My wife and daughters also would go here for their oil changes. I took my vehicle in for some AC work. They recharged my system because it was all leaked out and I asked about a possible leak and I got mumbling. For $145.00 the AC worked great until the next morning it was not working any more. I took it back and THEN they decided to look for a leak and found it near the hose and base of compressor. I left it there the next day and was told it was the compressor. They Quoted close to $1000.00 to replace the entire system or close to $775.00 to replace only the compressor. Took it to Pep Boys and got a quote for over $500.00 to replace the hose and recharge the system. Went to AutoZone and bought some hose rings and replaced the rings on the old hose that took about 10 or 15 minutes of my time. Pep boys wanted to charge over $180.00 labor for that and I didn't even need to get under the vehicle. Took it to a place recommended by some friends at work in Fort Worth and $87.00 later had my compressor recharged and running cold. I won't be back to Arapaho Quick Lube. No one in my family will go back. They lost 5 customers. read more

Horrible experience! I asked them to check my battery after it died. They came back saying my alternator desperately needed to be changed and I wouldn't be able to start my car again. I questioned this because i had just started my car twice after jumping/charging it. I said I was going to leave to do an errand and would possibly come back. They started talking about having to get a rental car. It was so uncomfortable that they were pressuring me not to leave without committing to getting a new alternator. I said I was leaving and they insisted my car would die. Went somewhere else, they tested the battery and replaced it with a new one. $100 later and my car is fine. They tried to convince me to have $500 worth of maintenance done on my vehicle. I have always a warranty/service plan on my 3 year old vehicle and done every maintenance needed. When I texted my husband and my dad ( a former mechanic) about what they were suggesting they both said NO. The price they were quoting was outrageous and the services were not necessary. I took my car here because my air conditioner went out and this place is close to my work. Since it is the middle of July I needed it looked at stat. They diagnosed the problem and then they charged me a $75 diagnostic fee. They never mentioned a fee when I dropped off the car and while I am OK with paying a small fee for this...$75 is out of the question! If he would have told me that up front I would have drove away. I know I should have asked first but since my boss recommended the place, I never thought they would charge that much and it just slipped my mind. So then I had a friend call up there a few days later and ask what it would cost to get her air conditioner looked at and they told her $45 if they hook it to the machine. SHADY! My boss used to recommend people to this place and said she never will again. The moment the trust is gone so are the customers. horrible !!! they overcharged me for the oil change and then charged me for an oil filter and shop fee on top of the overpriced oil change.... it was close to work so i went to them .. they came in and told me i had a dirty cabin filter that i know only costs at most $15 dollars then when they rang me up they charged me $49.00 for the $10-15 dollar filter !!! then they told me the transmission fluid needed to be changed ... i had just checked it 2 weeks ago and it was red and clean... now it has a brown tinge to it ... i checked the oil as well because like the other person said they were finished within 10 minutes ... i am not sure they changed the oil filter but i checked the oil and it looks new. my car only has around 81k miles on it and it says that you only have to replace the transmission fuid between 100-150k .... i do not trust these guys and i paid $117 dollars for a $50 oil change ... i will not be back !!! read more
