He's earned a special treat for the awards in school. We bought the tickets for a day pass. Luckily I had cash because the booth was not accepting any other form of payment. Everything was copacetic until the return trip and it brought back memories when I rode the bus in the greater Los Angeles area. Waaaay back, when it was the RTD (now the MTA). My friends & I called it Rough, Tough & Dirty because.....it was. Milo was oblivious to the cab surroundings, just looking out & enjoying the ride. All the while I was not breathing through my nose, trying not to touch anything. Folks, I felt like I needed a nice, long cleansing/disinfecting shower thereafter. Thankfully we were not accosted. Our journey lasted about a good 10-12 minutes. As long as Milo was a happy camper, our journey was complete. The wait for each way didn't take more than 10 minutes in total.

Fortunately these days we have a decent mass transit system in the Dallas area and most of the big metro areas like Houston. However, Texas is a car culture on steroids and I'll admit I don't use mass transit that often. Usually when I do it's to travel to the State Fair close to downtown(highly recommended). I can say from experience after riding the system many times, it works, I'm glad we have it and hope its expansion continues. Until then, ill continue using Parker Station to hop on the train.

There are busses coming and founding and the train line runs north and south (Red Line) through this station. The parking lot is fairly large as well It is always maintained nicely and the parking lot is very well lit in the evenings. I will try to attach some pictures, but the day I was there it was raining, so the photographs would not have turned out well.

This is a cool little station, served by DART Rail's Green Line, and is located at street level. This is the jumping off point if you're taking the bus on to Galleria Dallas, Brookhaven College (Route 488), Dr Pepper StarCenter - Farmers Branch, Farmers Branch City Hall, Farmers Branch Historical Park, or Sam Moon Center Dallas (Route 544). Buses 400, 488, 531, 535, and 544 all serve the Farmer's Branch Station. There's also a parking lot that accommodates some 237 cars making this a great spot to catch the train into downtown for work or play.

On the way back, DART does special event trains for those leaving the AAC and we were on our way home less then 45 min after leaving the game.

The last train from downtown to here leaves at 12:29am, so be sure to make it if you're parked down here. Parking is free. We felt safe leaving our car here while we went downtown to a concert. Maybe 25 min to Victory station? I wasn't timing it. But it wasn't bad at all. They have a kiosk which is super way to use, and it accepts credit card. It prints you passes right there and only takes a minute. Be sure to collect your tickets prior to the train coming. Doors open for about 1 minute and you have to wait 15 minutes to catch the next one. Check out dart.org for the rail schedule.
