This place is small but is very clean. They have a lot of accommodation for you. They offer headphones and tv while they work on your teeth. They actually read your registration form and any comments you put on it. I came here for cleaning and consultation. This is by far the least painful cleaning I had. The hygienist was thorough and handled my teeth with care. They also explained how to care for my teeth and made recommendations. The dentist was also very nice and informative. The front desk / reception has been very easy no issues with insurance or billing. Communication to schedule and verify appointments has been a pleasure. Best part of the entire practice is if they schedule you for 1:30 pm , they are seeing you at 1:30 pm! There is no typical 30 minute grace period on your appointment. They will take care of my teeth from here on in !

After I moved to Manhattan it seemed too far to keep traveling the three hour round trip all the way back into the depths of Queens so I tried a few dentists that came highly recommended from friends, and every time I regretted it and returned to Dr. Patel. I have finally accepted the fact that it is really unlikely that I could find a better dentist in the whole United States, even assuming money, distance and time was no object, than Dr. Kevin Patel. First and foremost I feel he does the most thorough, up to date, skilled, meticulous and aesthetic repair on the tooth, whatever it may be, from fillings to cosmetic improvements to root canals. But in addition to that, he is absolutely concerned about patient comfort both mental and physical and always tells you what he is doing and why, and believes in minimizing all possible pain and stays up on the latest in pain management courses. He is very empathetic, a perfectionist, and I don't feel he does any less than he would if he was working on his own mouth or that of his family. Lastly, due to the location, the costs are half or less what they are of the dentists I saw in Manhattan - and I have determined that the double or triple price charged in Manhattan has nothing to do with their having any more expertise than Dr. Kevin Patel, but rather everything to do with simply paying Manhattan rent for the office they are in. So if you don't have 100% coverage for your dental care, and it bothers you to pay an extra thousand or more for nothing but the Manhattan rent (for a root canal or implant for example), I recommend taking the time and traveling out to Dr. Patel. Or if you're local in Queens, the choice is obvious. If Dr. Patel ever moves or retires, I worry for the fate of my teeth.

It is clean, located on Utopia and L.I.E., has a nice waiting room with large screen TV. Last December I came here for a second opinion and I immediately regretted going anywhere else. The other BK dentist(closer to where I live) charged ~$155 plus additional X-ray charge and said I needed to have work done for a cracked tooth. He emphasized how worried he was that the tooth might crack open or something. I told him there was no pain even when he cracked his tool on the molar making a clinging sound. There seemed to be a mixture of incompetence and culture of ripoff at this nameless place that awkwardly retrofitted a beautiful old Clinton Hill home to house a business. Dr Nasimi CORRECTLY DIAGNOSED remnants of an old filling(harmless). I would much rather support the clean, modern office that cares about their patients and the upkeep of their office. In December, they did not charge me for their digital X-ray for some reason. Today's (mid-March 2015) cleaning by Carol was excellent and cost $90(I don't have dental insurance). No charge for the exam. Obviously I will be back!

I came here after some research and a horrible experience with "doctor" Thomas Kent down the street…read moreon Union. This time around I was looking for a place with professionalism, cleanliness and most importantly, a classy, educated receptionist. I swear that receptionist at Kent's office was a pure nightmare and I'm glad I never have to deal with her ever again! I am so happy to have entrusted my dental care with doctor Rafailov now. He not only gets the job done, he takes the time to explain the procedure to the patient; takes his time with each procedure to make sure each patient is happy and at the end, performs an awesome job. He's been doing this for so many years I honestly felt no fear when he was taking out my wisdom teeth. I had three different procedures done on my teeth at his office: 1) cleaning 2) filling 3) wisdom teeth extraction. The cleaning and extraction were done by doctor Rafailov but the filling was done by another dentist that they had just hired name Rachel (I think, I might have forgotten her name). After my filling appointment with her, I literally couldn't chew on my left side where I had the filling because it would hurt like hell. I thought it was just some residual pain but weeks went by and I could still not chew! So during my next appointment, doctor Rafailov took a look and said that it was "not even" and that one side was higher than the other and that was causing me the pain. The important thing is that he fixed it right away and after that I did not have any pain chewing food anymore. When I scheduled my appointment for the extraction, the receptionist scheduled me on the Sunday before labor day because I had requested a weekend date. Mind you, this appointment was made weeks before the actual date. Then the Friday before Labor Day, she called and said that she "forgot" that they were closed and that I had to rescheduled...I was really really annoyed because I had cancelled all my plans and switched around my work schedule to get these teeth taken out, and she just ruined everything in one phone call. I wouldn't have mind if they had called sooner, but cancelling on someone with such short notice was just not acceptable. I was pissed but what can I do? Once I finally got the appointment, I was lucky enough to have doctor Rafailov do my extractions, all 4 wisdom teeth. We took 2 out first then waited 2 weeks later to take out the last two. I honestly thought the procedure was going to take forever but it was faster than I though. I wasn't prescribed anything afterwards because it was a simple extractions since my teeth were growing straight and were not impacted. I just rinsed my mouth with salt water and took some Advil for pain, totally was not bad at all. I'm honestly thankful for him for doing such a great job!!
